Alterations of human genetics reason we're here now in our present form. Giant leaps at around 1,000,000, 50,000, and 10,000 years ago that just don't jibe with evolution, much too fast, overnight sea changes on the geological time table.

Mel has done lots of good cinematic work. Really liked Edge of Darkness, as a recent example. Apocalypto is an amazing achievement.

I have always tried to separate art from politics, or personal peccadilloes. I even like Jane Fonda -- as an artist.

One problem, we use the Roman calendar with leap years - the Mayans did not. By their calendar we are already in 2013.
