Do you think this could be fact or just political rhetoric

“This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof; and all Treaties made, or which shall be made, under that Authority of the United States, shall be the supreme Law of the Land; and the Judges in every State shall be bound thereby, any Thing in the Constitution or Laws of any State to the Contrary notwithstanding.†~ Article VI, Clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution

POTUS(President of the United States) or DOTUS(Dummie of the United States) is ready to sign The Arms Treaty. What will this do to the 2nd amendment? How will it be enforced?

Will the Tides Turn? will forces from other countries like Russia and China be used to enforce this Treaty on the Us military and the Citizens of the US? I will tell you this we will not stand by and allow other countries to enforce a treaty on the US that will take us straight into a communist-socialist country.

Treaties signed by the executive branch become part of international law even if they are not ratified by the Senate. Yes, if there is a treaty, Obama will sign it, right before the election. And then we’ll be stuck with it even if the Senate does not approve.

Example: the use of hollow point ammunition is only banned in a war between signers of the Hague Convention. The Taliban and the insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan never signed the Hague Convention, so the US forces are allowed to use such ammo by the very terms of the Convention. But we don’t, because we can’t. Go figure.

Dick Morris.com has a petition out to stop the US from signing the Arms Treaty

Here is a letter from Dick Morris.

Dear Friend,

On July 27th, the nations of the world are scheduled to meet in New York to sign a global Arms Trade Treaty (ATT). Disguised as a way to prevent the proliferation of small arms throughout the world, it is, in fact, a backdoor way to legislate gun control in the United States and effectively repeal our Second Amendment.

The ATT will set up a global body, which will require all nations to regulate firearms so that they can prevent their exportation to other countries. Inevitably, this will require countries to inventory the guns in private hands and to register them. A gun ban is not far away.

The ATT, under the Supremacy Clause of the US Constitution, would have the power of a constitutional amendment and would, effectively, repeal the Second Amendment guaranteeing us the right to bear arms. We must fight to stop the US from signing the treaty and, if we fail, block Senate ratification.

Please sign the petition below and include your name and address so we can send it to your Congressman and Senators. We'll add your email address to our Alerts list so we can keep you posted on progress and next steps.

Thanks very much.

Dick Morris

The Senate has advise and consent

over any treaty. In other words, a

treaty has to undergo a vote in the

Senate and pass with at least a

two thirds majority to become a

law.

The simple signature by any prez

means very little and has no force

of law attached.

Just political rhetoric. This has to do with international trade. This has zero to do with the transfer of weapons within our own borders.

Not that it's impossible, but I'd be surprised if this goes anywhere, period.

With all the veto powers around the table and necessary votes needed for such a treaty to pass, I'm not worried in the slightest.

Under an imperial presidency, like what he thinks

of himself, Obama may try to use the supremacy

clause to assert it, but it won't pass muster.

It if turns out to be the case, there are many

other things to be worrying about than just

this treaty.

This stuff has been going on since

before that mutt was born.
