Threaded barrel for a m&p9?

You could also have and extension added to the factory barrel. Might be less than buying a new barrel. When I had it done it generally cost around $100-$125.

What the smith does is thread the factory barrel. Screw an extension onto the barrel with sleeve retainer to hold it in place. Then turn it down to the factory barrel's OD. Then thread the extension for whatever thread pitch you want.

Another reason to do this is you know, without a doubt, the threads are concentric to the bore. Another advantage is the original barrel length is kept the same. Longer barrels, even by a 1/2" can increase velocity to supersonic in some rounds.
