Yep, heard a great thing on the radio today, not sure who it was but they said we're about to destroy the best healthcare capabilities in the history of the world, to cover a fraction of the population that doesn't want to pay for it.

I don't think anything in that area is profitable except gas stations and liquor stores.
Only gas stations. I have a friend who manages a liquor store and he says they are really struggling. Also my MIL worked for a liquor store and she just got laid off indefinitely about 2 months ago.

Exactly. Best Buy closed their Hickory Harlem location a while back. And the mall? That's what happens when you close the projects in downtown Nashville, then force all the ghetto trash into the suburbs.

The entire area around Antioch really saw a huge shift in the late 90s. My old house payment was $770/month with 10 years left when I sold it. Section 8 housing was paying $937/month. Now, my house is worth less than I paid for it. I'm screwed.

I have a friend that says they are ringing up more at the liquor store but the gross net is down. Which means the cheaper alcohols are what people are buying.

Read the actual article on the daily mail site, don't have a link handy though

another one was well:
Darden Restaurants, the parent company of Red Lobster and The Olive Garden, announced in October that it would test a plan that would boost the number of employees on part-time status in a handful of its markets.
In actuality it looks like the unemployment rate will go down because they're going to be switching to part-time work and hiring more part timers so they can keep the work under 30 hours. ... Can't wait to see the headline "Health Care changes increased employment numbers!" Edited by Sam1
