Yeah that is why I said I made an arse out of myself. I am a dope.

And to be honest I don't know how my buddies .40 round got onto my bench. I didn't even shoot his gun.

Now back to the original topic.

Has anyone else ever found "different" rounds in the same box.

I think the fellow behind the counter was dead on with the bullet weight being different and the bullet being seated farther into the casing. I guess I just firgured that there would be consistency within a single box.

To answer your question, Yes. I got some reloads with a 45 I bought, I was looking them over the other day and 1 of them turned out to be a 45LC not acp.

I will not put the orange box stuff through any of my guns--just had too many bad experiences with the stuff. The worst I saw was when a friend (who was fairly new to shooting) with a new Glock 19 said he could shoot it well, but it jammed all the time. "A Glock 19?," I asked. He claimed the "flat points" always hung up, but the "round noses" fed well. My first thought was, "Who loads a flat point 9mm?" I saw him at the range about two weeks later, and I saw his "flat points"--they were .40s! He had bought one of RUSA's 9mm orange box 250 packs, but it was about 20% .40. Nice.

Is the orange box stuff at RangeUSA different than the bulk 250 and 500 packs? I only buy the bulk packs and have had very, very few issues (no jams, just some misfires - rack, tap and go)...

The 500 packs are not the same....from what I understand, the orange stuff is in the 250 and of course 50rd....I am pretty sure the 500 stuff is the "other" reloading company...but I could be wrong...
