Acquired a m&p Core in 9mm a few months back. Decided I wanted something to conceal better, especially since I'll be in Detroit this weekend. So got to the gun show with ten mins to spare to buy a Shield in 9mm to match the Core. Thursday I'm planning on shooting both for the first time since I have some extra 9 in my stock.

Nice combo. I think you'll like them both. Maybe even add the 9c to the mix.

I like my Shield very much, but of the 3, I have to say I prefer shooting the 9 compact. Just has a better feel to me. But the Shield still leads as a great carry option.

I had a 9c. I liked it. Sold it to buy the CORE.

I bought the CORE because I wanted to get into competitive shooting. I would have been fine with a full size regular M&P, but I couldn't find one at the time. The CORE has a cut away on the top of the slide is covered by a plate that will accept the RMR Trigicon site and others. The back strap is supposed to be more textured than the regular full size.
