New rule for me. I will never be caught short again. As long as the stores keep looking like this, I will not walk out of a store with at least ONE box of ammo. I dont care if its a 4 dollar box of target loads, something is leaving with me.

Spending the night at the hospital. Had a few minutes around 9:30, took a ride. Can you believe they even had stacks of .380, 38 Super, .460 and 44 Mag? 30-30 for $13 per box, 12 gauage target loads for 4.99 and even a sale on Hevi-Metal 12 gauge HD rounds for 6.99!

Monday morning 8 AM for this one, Tuesday morning 9AM for the one on 153. (.22 that is). Told at both places plenty of .22 coming in, at least once, mostly twice a week, every time, gone in 30 minutes every time.

Ditto Nightrunner.

I've gotten lucky a time or two in the afternoon, but rarely. Thankfully I have a stack of .22 bricks pretty tall, deep, and wide... and no, not from panic buying. For about 3 years I was in the habit of buying 2 Federal 550rd bricks every time I was at Wal Mart. Some times that was only once every 2 or 3 months, and other times once a week. It all added up to a "healthy" supply of .22, aling withe the other calibers I shoot.

I've been tempted to take advantage of the hysteria and make a small fortune, but I'm such a hoarder I can't bear to let any go! I'm even kicking myself now for selling (at cost) a few boxes to a friend who has had a hard time finding a few calibers. I come by it honestly... you should see al the crap my Mom has been holding on to for 40 years!!

I was in Huntsville, AL for business this past week and checked out their Academy's to see if they had any ammo. 9mm was behind the counter and .22 (which they didn't have) was still at a two box limit. There were healthy portions of every other ammo though.

Both Academies I was at Thursday and Friday, none of their Ammo was behind the counter. Pretty much all the 9MM you wanted, out front. Only ammo I saw that was still high was .44 mag, but they only had a few boxes.

I have been watching the bids for the last few months on gunbroker for .22. This is soon to come to an end with the .22. Here's why. Just 6 weeks ago .22 on gunbroker was  pulling lots of bids, prices were all over the map but minimum was $74 per 100 rounds (What I saw), today no one is bidding, the few bids that are there are all in the $50-$60 range, many are right at $57 per 100. Shill bidding no doubt, resellers are getting stuck with their ammo. The stores need to keep the 2 box limit, the resellers will soon find out that fuel and time spent vs return on a $10 investment = a negative number. (Unless they are too stupid to do basic math).

Go to gunbroker, type in .22 and look how many of the auctions "Listing has ended" with no bids. Almost all of them.

The .22 market is correcting itself. That simple.
