FYI - Bud's in Sevierville has two crates of Mosins

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the tip. I went to Bud's today and picked up one of my own. I had intentions of picking up one in bad condition and using it as a project gun to refinish. However, the one I found is in really good condition. There is hardly any scratches in the stock, and the finish looks very good to me. It has all matching serial numbers, including the bayonet. I think all I really have to do is clean up a little Cosmoline and it'll be all set.

We went down to the antique shop afterward, and on the way back to the truck I noticed two other guys outside the checkout , each holding one they just bought. I think they are going quick, although they still had one unopened crate. They were also selling empty rates for $25. Told my wife one would look good at the foot of the bed as a chest. She was not convinced.

They were all out of 7.62x54 ammo, but they said they would have more on Black Friday, as well as bulk 22LR. No way am I going to be any where near Sevierville on that day.
