Borrow a tool? Bearing puller.

Anybody in the Knoxville or surrounding area have a slide hammer bearing puller I can borrow for a day? I need to get a gimbal bearing out of a merc alpha one drive. I would, of course, drive to pick up and I can leave a deposit. Thanks!

I thought about that, and advance, but I'm looking for one with "fingers" that pull the bearing. Most auto bearing pullers seem to have backing plates and I don't have access to the back side of the bearing. I will check into that but I just figured somebody on here has just what I need and TGO is all about helping each other out. I don't want to buy the tool because I'd use it once every few years.

Don't have the gimbal tools.  :(

I have not had to do mine yet, I just repowered a few years ago, and the gimbal was silky smooth.

I've been known to pop down a few times with the navy, not as much lately though as my tailgates have become more elaborate.  ;)

Used to be a Norris rat, but have since given up dodging drunks and now just chill on Watts Bar.  Much quieter and better fishing!

I'm thinking about buying this item 271644541471 on eBay but I don't have a way drill into steel. I guess a drill press and a decent bit would do it. The guy said it's mild steel. I can't imagine it would take but a few minutes. Is there anyone out there in the Knoxville area who could help me with this? Let me know if the link does not work. If the link is against policy, please just delete. Thanks http://m.ebay.com/itm/271644541471

This is who I got my tool from.  They work as advertised.  As far as the hole drilling, I'd pick a machine shop here in town to drill it for you.  The key is that you don't want any burrs on the drill site as these are precision alignment tools.

I got the tools. They will be here today. I also bought a Milwaukee 3/8 bit to drill the hole in the engine alignment bar. All I need now is a drill press. I wish I could change the title because I'm way beyond the bearing puller now. I think a shop would charge too much and the turnover would be a week or more. Just for one hole.

Shoot a PM to Mike, lawenforcementsalestn.  He can likely accommodate.
