  2. So, I know that the Springfield XD can be converted from .40 S&W to 9mm with a simple upper and magazine change. Is this the same for the Smith & Wesson M&P series? More specifically, I'm asking regarding the M&P 40c to 9c.
  3. I set off on my motorsickle this morning to ride to Cookeville to play some racquetball, as I do most every Monday. I wasn't too far from home when I crested a hill and there stood a big ol' black bear in the road. I stopped 75 feet or so from him. I was on a black bike with a black helmet, and he may have mistaken me for another bear, as he took a few steps in my direction. Let me tell you, guys, a black bear looks a lot different when you're sitting on a motorbike than it does when you're inside your pickup truck. Especially when he seems to have no particular concern about your presence. I've been close to bears in the woods a few times, but I always had a rifle or a bow in-hand. But I tootled my horn and flashed the high beams at him and he decided he wanted no part of me and headed into the woods that border the road. (The Catoosa Wildlife Area) It's amazing how hard they are to see once they're in the woods. I looked hard as I rode past where he left the road, and didn't see a thing.
  4. Oh man. Do you have anything from Martin in Florence, Alabama? I grew up an hour from there and a Martin piece is my current white whale.
  5. Dude! You can't just end a story like that! We need closure on that anecdote!
  6. My man.... You have no idea the heart attacks you have just induced if this post goes viral!
  7. This was my worry when I got the two skillets in my post. Thank goodness preheat patience and heat control let me actually use them for searing.

  10. I have a no. 5 and a no. 10 Lodge. That no. 10 is a WORKHORSE for fajitas and carne asada.
  11. My man!!! Are those some original Birmingham cornbread pans?!?
  12. I spray it with yellow cap oven cleaner and leave it in a plastic bag overnight. Steel wool then takes everything off with little effort.
  13. Oh I only buy secondhand these days. Thrift stores are my main shopping place.
  14. I have a Browning 71 in .348 Winchester for sale if that itch still needs scratching...
  15. NICE score Ten years ago I was working out west and hit a huge huge gun show/expo and a gent had a handful of Win' 71's offered. HOLY cow. . all were near $3000. I'm a fan of the .348 after shooting my buddy's 71, but I'm champaign tastes with a beer budget. My buddy , like myself, cast our own 80% of the time. He had a 250gr mold made and was popping them out at 2,250+ fps using Varget. That's outrageously impressive, matching 450 Bushmaster's impressive specs. I'm a lever fan (Got five JM Marlins bought in the early 90's) . . .always wanted that 71 in a 348 to fill that mid-bore heavy hitter category.
