Safety Reminder for Buyers and Sellers This is an automatic reply meant to protect you as a buyer and a seller on TGO. Use the Buyer/Seller Feedback feature to research who you are dealing with. Please come back and leave feedback for each other after the transaction is complete. Your experience will help others. Never agree to use an electronic form of payment to buy or sell a gun! None of the electronic payment services will protect you against fraud in a firearms transaction. They all have terms of service FORBIDDING the use of their services to buy/sell guns. DON'T DO IT. Be very wary of anyone who insists on brokering a deal in private or outside of TGO. Scammers almost always prefer to operate out of the public eye. ShootrMgavn started following Marshall Origin 50c (Combo tube amp) - $450 obo

Hey TGOers, Putting up this little beast for sale. It's a 50 watt but has 2 low power options for in-home/bedroom use. Comes with the stock footswitch. No case or box unfortunately. Currently new on Sweetwater for $800. My little mini-review for anyone interested: This thing screams. It sounds great at all power levels and has a great Marshall plexi tone. Takes pedals extremely well (has built in Fx loop), no electronics hum, not too heavy (great for gigging or band practice, but I have not travelled with this one). Stock speaker sounds nice and tight, pretty flat response (by my ear) and great percussive tone if you're into that. Cash strongly preferred but will consider venmo for established members. Ftf in or around Mt. Juliet. Not willing to ship at this time. Thanks, -V

My favorite handgun depends on a couple things. How I think about the need at that time in my area, and if I feel I might need multiple shots. MY EDC gun in a S&W SHEILD EZ 9. I know, it only holds 8 in the mag plus 1. BUT, I am a good shot and do not plan on needing more than 2 or 3 unless there are multiple assailants. I also always carry at least one extra Mag. If the situation dictates, I would carry my Sig P228/ M11A1 in 9mm with 18 round Magazines. This is one of the first guns the seals carried and I trained with this gun in all my NRA class's. I also carry at least one extra Mag when I carry this gun. In a SHTF situation, I would be carrying everything I could carry including a 357 revolver for those longer range shots and don't ever think that 100 yards is too long for a handgun shot, IF you know how to shoot.

Any links to the GOA comment? I see a few lawsuits they are involved in so I am doing life membership, I'd be interested in any mishandling of funds. - Today

Reasons why someone should get a hand gun carry permit
Seabee1425 replied to icruz's topic in Handguns
Reasons to get Tennessee's Enhanced Carry Permit. 01. Some states will not recognize Constitutional Carry. Those that don't require you to have a carry permit issued by your home state. 02. With Constitutional Carry if you are forced to use that firearm, a good lawyer will crucify you in court if you can prove your qualified to carry. 03. Training is very important to carry a firearm and practice is just as important. Just getting 8 hours of classroom and an hour on the range is not enough. You need to practice regularly. I moved to Tennessee from Iowa and to Iowa from Illinois in 2008. I spent 26 years in the military and for about 15 of those years I was a Range Coach and an RSO and helped train over 500 personel on handguns, M-16's and shotguns. I was lucky enough to be in a Battalion that thought handgun training was important because MOST people in the US Military DO NOT GET ENOUGH TRAINING WITH HANDGUNS, unless they are Masters at Arms, MP's Ect. I took the NRA Instructor Class's in Basic Pistol, Basic Rifle, Basic Shotgun, PPITH and PPOTH and also Chief Range Safety Officer. I taught both Illinois and Iowa CC class's. Iowa's was an 8 hr class. Illinois Requires 16 Hrs to get a Concealed Only Permit and Illinois doesn't recognize any other states permits that I know of. Moving out of Illinois was the smartest thing I ever did. In my years involved in instructing I formed an opinion that too much training is never really too much. -

Whisper replied to JohnSutton1980's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
GOA spends most of its money on salaries and, last time I looked, there were lots of family members employed there. Little money actually goes to lobbying. FPC and SAF actually seem to do some things, and I give modestly to them. I've been an NRA Life Member since the 1970s and gave regularly to them until I realized that Wayne and his criminal cronies were looting the store. I am still a member, but I won't give another dime until all the old board members are gone and some new bylaws are put in place to prevent the type of corruption that Wayne established as a general operating principle. I always tell people to give to the state RKBA organization if they have one that's decent. TN and NC are good examples of states with effective freedom lobbies. Cheers, Whisper -

A Swiss Army Knife Without the Knife?
papa61 replied to gun sane's topic in Knives, Lights, EDC Gear
This was my line of thought during the storm coverage last night. Not complaining about the coverage, just the commentary accompanying the news. The best part is "Send us your pics! Don't endanger yourself but send us your pics" Kinda sums up the social media generation. But no, they aren't going away, our leaders will continue to "protest" them from themselves. "protect" I think that was a Freudian slip on my part. Hope I die before I have to rely on these younguns. -

I've wondered if those things allowed someone to fire bursts or if it was basically a run-away machine gun. -

Been working today so haven't checked outside yet. We had some strong wind and very heavy rain. I've never seen a tornado in person, but I have heard one go over. Pretty certain that's what the sound was before and after the moment of silence. God bless those who lost. And it doesn't sound like a train,,,exactly.
