DAYTONA BEACH, FL 32114 MADE IN US Looks like they are not doing what they said….disappointing and good to know. To me that was an important selling point. Too many other decent guns in that price range. Glad they didn’t move to TN as planned several years ago.
  2. I have 2 SCCYs. One was ammo picky with HP. Called and they sent a shipping label, got it back in one week. No problems since. I would tell you to try calling them again.
  3. I have a similar Gen 1.0 5” pro apexed out like yours in 9mm. Good price with the 40 option as well.
  4. You may possess a loaded handgun in your vehicle in Illinois.
  5. i occassionally carry a canik subcompact with a Romeo O. Battery life is no where near as advertised. The take home lesson is I change that battery every 6 months. Have to remove and re-zero, yeah, a little hassel by not bad. My Havens and SRO I change yearly. Just have to know your equipment.
  6. Below is a class description from Cruel Hand Luke, aka Randy Harris. Randy frequently holds this class in Dayton, TN and Windrock shooting range. IMO if one is interested in documentation, than this is certainly a valid record ran by a well known firearms instructor under a controlled classroom environment. "We will be shooting some challenging warm up drills and then the Bakersfield PD Qual, Federal Air Marshal pistol qualification, FBI pistol qualification courses and a few others and finish up with a man vs man shoot off on steel and bowling pins! I will also keep records of these (if you are happy with your scores) for future reference and use . This will serve to get your shooting prowess on record by a third party in case it is ever needed in the future in some legal matter. This is also something your church might like to have for their records if you are a member of a church security team."
  7. use the right tool for the job comes to mind..
  8. Old test, but the best I have seen. Most may have already seen this, but I've been a fan of Hornady clean and lube, and Mobil 1 for years because of this test. FYI.......https://dayattherange.com/?page_id=3667
  9. As I understand it if you’re not part of the military reserve, private individuals are not allowed to own firearms in Israel.
  10. the dot and open sights do exactly the same thing....they simply tell you where your muzzle is pointed. I would argue the dot does that quicker and more accurately. If one is having trouble 'finding the dot' , it is generally a fault of grip.
  11. Ameriglo Haven. I have two and several friends have them as well. Use my in IDPA and no issues.
  12. Had an R1 that was a fine pistol. Took a couple of classes with 600 rd count, never an issue. Gave it to my son. Colt Combat Commander now is owned by grandson. Told him when he could handle it, Lock slide back etc it was his.
  13. Teaching carry classes was something I really enjoyed. I was raised hunting/ shooting, but went to Front Sight and did a 4 day defensive handgun course. I sucked, especially when I saw the difference when someone really could shoot a handgun skillfully. Long story short, I’ve had hundreds of hours of training and I enjoyed helping new shooters. On thing I learned, you don’t know what you don’t know.
  14. Me neither, but he wouldn’t have liked the pepper spray….but then again preferable to getting shot in the belly.
  15. One cannot legally carry in any park in TN without permit. If an employee of a post secondary school in TN one must have the ECP to do so with other stipulations as well. It is against Federal law to be in a school zone or on school property without a permit. Plus the benefit of out of state carry as noted. Possible informal benefits when dealing with LEO, SD shooting, etc.
  16. Just for the record, as an instructor I have had people fail the shooting part. But I’ve had people show up with NIB guns and never fired a gun before.
  17. Sign up for quality classes. Not sure what you have available in your area. Would seek Rangemaster certified instructor as a benchmark.
  18. Concealed means concealed until we live in a more favorable world, but you still have a choice to enter or not.
  19. M&P shield and compact models......with or without safety. Reasonable price, US company, TN company.
  20. That’s really a shame, but they all had to know better. Attorney fees and loss of firearms’ rights is devastating to this group.
  21. If it were me, I would hang onto the vintage shells....nice collector item.
  22. I was at the Grand opening.....what a great event. Even enjoyed the speeches. Uncle Si with Duck Dynasty gave the invocation. Maryville PD color guard did the honors and National Anthem. Lt. Gov Randy McNally and Rep. Sexton presented as well. Rep Burchett led the pledge. Overall a great event. Multiple vendors were there with good discounts. Many food vendors. Country Music stars and shooting demos. Shot 6 different S&W firearms in their indoor range. Quite an event.
