RK show is now being held in M'Boro.
-
Thought it was the Xe edition.

I know the guy that owns that company. I worked with him back in OK when I was a deputy. He has lots of toys on his website for sale.
-
Tires on it are better for the mostly city driving that I do with occasionaly country roads. The A/C is next major thing on the list. Will run me about $1200 or so but I am not in a hurry since I have all new seals on the top and can do the convertible thing with it for awhile in the summers.

Here is my toy. 1985 M1009 CUCV. Looks like this now. Needs a few more minor things done, but pretty much done. Did the bodywork, some welding, replaced all the floor pans and the dash, redyed the dash and door panels, painted the outside, rhinolined the inside, installed a CD player, etc., etc. This is what it looked like when I got it.

I personally have never seen a 870 fail. However, back in 2003 when I was at the police academy range in OK, some officers took their NIB Mossberg 500's out for the first time. Loaded them up, went to shoot and had nothing but FTF, FTE, short stroking, what have you. If you can imagine a problem happening with a pump shotgun, we had it happen that day. That being said, I have owned both 500's and 870's. The 870 has been more reliable in my experience, had a more solid "feel" to it, and has a better/more affordable (by a little bit) aftermarket than the 500.

Who Zapped the Knoxville Gun Show Thread?
TNRobocop replied to Oh Shoot's topic in Events and Gatherings
Sounds like the common theme here and in other threads is that it should have been located closer to central TN/Nashville and NOT down south of Nashville. I have been down there a few times on other business and it is one long, boring azz drive. Looks like alot of people that would have been there, won't be because it is in BFE. Not to mention other known factors such as other more established shows are going on. Maybe next time..... -
And they wonder why they are getting fat in Japan?

Has there been a no-bs definitive list of who is actually going to be at either show? -
Best .22 Can on MKIII / Please add Pictures
TNRobocop replied to quesogrande's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Never heard much about Coastal. Mostly because they aren't one of the "big" names if you know what I mean. Might look into it. -

I sell Gemtech, Surefire, AAC, YHM, etc. For all of those Mite haters, you all need to put down the crack pipe. Best price, easy take down for cleaning, and quiet enough for almost anybody. Best deal in suppressors for the money. Any questions shoot me a PM. I am a Class III dealer. -
.38 S&W was mainly used in the British Commonwealth areas. Midway sells it for $21.99 a box, but they are out until Jan 2010. You could find it on Gunbroker though.

Nope but I have heard murphy's wood soap seems to do okay. For the most part though it is always easier and better looking in the long run to just redo it. It's not like a cartouche marked M1 Garand stock or anything like that.

I wish they would drop the BS guns in BARS. It is in resturants for cripes sakes.

Why do FFL's around Middle TN charge so much to do private transfers?
TNRobocop replied to TMMT's topic in General Chat
I know I only charge $25 plus the $10 the state charges for $35 total on transfers. -
Three badges would be better than the three wolves shirt!!!!!!
-
Those badges are a horrible idea. They identify you as: A wannabe cop Someone with a look at me ego/problem A way to get yourself in trouble when somebody does think you are a cop and either needs your help or wants to kick your azz. Remember kids, concealed means concealed. Save your pennies from the badge and spend it on ammo or a good holster.

Best AR gunsmith in Memphis area? If not Memphis, in TN?
TNRobocop replied to G27's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
It's "possible" that the barrel nut is misadjusted, which would slightly cant the gas tube, which in turn will tweak the front sight tower. It would have to be looked at obviously to tell for sure. Another thing, which is possible, is that you are shooting the wrong bullet weight out of it. 1-9 twist can shoot most any standard loads, 1-12 can only shoot 55 gr. Probably not the issue here though. If it came as a factory gun, send the upper back in under warranty. If it is a u-build it one, you might just have to have them replace the barrel. I have built/inspected/repaired literally hundreds of uppers and sometimes you get a FUBAR one, even a new one or one from a good builder and it has to be swapped out. -

Never heard of shimming a AR barrel. It's not really designed to do that. Could be the front sight is canted. I would try different rear sights, including a removeable carry handle first before anything drastic. The magpul sights are plastic and could have been slightly warped is a possibility. -
The barrels are indexed from the factory via the barrel extension. Very rarely are they "out of whack". It is possible the upper receiver extension slot might have been cut off to the side but hard to tell. Shoot it and see before anything else. Our military guns sometimes have windage and elevation adjustments that seem out of whack, but it still zeroes. If you have problems after zeroing it, bring it back over and we can do some more work on it.

If you have kept your nose clean for 7 years like a DUI conviction in TN, and that is your only misdemeanor, then there should be no reason why you can't have your rights restored. I always though DV convictions were a crock of s*it in a lot of cases. The DV laws need a major overhaul. On the other hand, I have been to alot of domestics where I arrested the female in the situation who had kittens because she thought that she couldn't be arrested even though she was the primary aggressor.

Biggest problem recently with Kel-Tec is availability. The never seem to make enough to keep up with demand...
-
Funny thing was when Dunndw was there when it came in, we couldn't figure out the caliber since it was unmarked and the paperwork Kel-Tec sent with it didn't say either. Only the name and serial #1 (not the actual serial #) was on it. We measured the magazine length with a set of calipers and it measured out almost to spec for a 5.7 round. I had to contact Oleg to find out what it was supposed to be chambered in since I couldn't get the company to answer their phones.
