I really miss ole Elmer T Lee, I haven't stumbled upon any on the shelf in over a year.

I'll admit I haven't tried Ocean but it's heritage sounds fishy at best - http://thebourbontruth.tumblr.com/post/76326340716/jefferson-is-fishy-in-and-out-of-the-ocean

I wouldn't recommend Simple Green because of it's ammonia base, high akalinity, PH9, unless properly diluted can harm bluing and finish on firearms. I do know people that have soaked too long at too high of a concentration and completely removed bluing from AK magazines etc while attempting to clean cosmo. I've used boiling water and mineral spirits with success in removing cosmo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NpUPwcE_AFU

Lets talk AK47 flash hider and brakes...
dangerdawg replied to JohnC's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
The Tapco brakes are little more than barrel weights, which in effect help with barrel rise, that Tapco AK-74 "style" brake isn't a 74 brake at all, doesn't even have the expansion chamber a real 74 brake does, nor the staggered port holes on top. Rule of thumb is if it comes in 14mm, it isn't a real 74 brake. The Russian SRVV Jet brake is made in 14mm and is very effective at controlling muzzle rise, being used by Russian troops, will do nothing for muzzle flash, here is a review video, they are available from Circle10 AK -http://circle10ak.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6yc8xLWHbU Another one to checkout is the Zenit DTK-2 Compact Brake, CNC Warrior is making an American copy of this in 14mm and 24mm, it's very effective as well at negating muzzle rise, AK Operators Union have been using the Zenit version in many of their recent videos - http://www.cncwarrior.com/Compact-Brake-p/27388.htm Here's a couple videos of the compact brake in action - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahGBivuMzdY http://vidmg.photobucket.com/albums/v107/TheManWithThePlasticMag/Boomsticks/DTK2InAction_zpsf98bd96c.mp4 -
A Sony DSC-RX100 has been a bit of a standard for pocket cameras for the past few years, newest models not cheap, but the older models may be found on the used market. Anything that requires you to pair it with your smart phone to be able to take a picture or video would become a hassle, plus be useless once your smartphone battery dies or when it's in use. The beauty of having an external camera is that your phone is free to be, well, a phone. http://www.engadget.com/products/sony/cyber-shot/dsc-rx100/ http://reviews.gizmodo.com/sony-rx100-mark-iv-review-a-great-camera-for-a-ridicul-1717804368

Gorgeous rifles Cartel, I need a job where you work! :)

It'll be back, they just came out and started shipping pre-orders a couple of weeks ago, all the positive reviews made everyone waiting in the wings "pull the trigger" on the ones that remained in stock. Just thought you should look into it before you bought something you may regret.
-
I've talked to them before, seemed very friendly, thanks for the response!

Try the ALG AKT trigger at only $49, mutliple reviews from very happy people over on AKFiles. Most have said it's the best trigger they've used, including the custom polished offerings out there. https://youtu.be/Lg-7NpNBS04 http://www.akfiles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226606&highlight=alg

I don't use them but they are supposed to be fair quality, I'll just wait to try the steel reinforced versions once they come out, in the polymer realm stick with Circle 10 waffle mags till the others are available, otherwise just use steel mil surp, my preference are Yugo BHO Mags especially in Yugo rifles.

Does Bellshire or any others that you know of handle private party transactions such as Gunbroker/Armslist out of state transactions shipped from a private party without an FFL ?
-
They've been fairly non-existent of late, although once and while one pops up on GB or on an out of state forum at an elevated price. You are more likely to find a CR than a UR, they haven't been imported any for a couple of years now. Here's one in Oklahoma - https://www.okshooters.com/showthread.php?212825-Arsenal-SLR-107CR-7-62X39

I'm narrowing down the plces I'll shop...
dangerdawg replied to gregintenn's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I've personally witnessed Reloader's Bench amongst others sending teams of people into Bass Pro (some were obviously somewhat out of place, not the type that you see roll into Bass Pro to prepare for Turkey season or pick up a holster) and buying up whatever was available after a shipment came in, well beyond the per person limits in place, even making multiple trips back into the store for more. I overheard other customers and staff at Bass Pro complain about it on a couple of occasions. They were piling more than the set limits into carts before others could get their hands on it, and then moving to other aisles and dividing it up amongst themselves to check out, making multiple trips in and out of the store to buy more. I talked to the guys at the Bass Pro counter and said you guys must be sick of this ammo craze and all the phone calls to see if they got a shipment, they said they really didn't mind at all, just wished they had more ammo to sell, and said what did make them mad were these greedy guys making multiple trips in to buy beyond their allotments, saying "dude, you were just in here 5 minutes ago, don't be greedy" after taking their first load out to their vehicles and coming right back in for another. Reloader's elevated prices must partly be to compensate for having paid retail for it, taking what was intended for customers to begin with to stock their store. That's why Bass Pro in the past week or so has had to implement a 2 box per caliber limit on ammo, 1 box if above 100 shells per box, I believe they've also started 2 magazine per customer limits because of the AR-15 mag hoarding and possibly similar policies on reloading supplies. -
That's incredible, but Midway's been sticking to a one box at a time limits, how'd you score 10 ?

Has anyone been able to find 9mm Makarov lately?

Guns and Leather in Hendersonville had some yesterday, Blazer 50 round FMJ's and Hornady 20 round HP's -
Correct, the online inventory is inaccurate and lags behind, by several hours, in some cases days. At best, it serves a good indicator to go check the shelves or call the store, especially when it shows in stock across multiple stores, then it seems much more accurate, depending on if shelves are stocked in the mornings or the evening prior.
