  1. I just saw an ad on Armslist and a guy in Hendersonville wants $95 for 500. He said it was "gun show" prices!  For these kinds of prices my kids will shoot bb guns when I run out of .22 ammo.
  2. My next purchase was going to be an early production gen3 glock 30, the one without the rail.  Has anyone else had problems with the spring breaking on their 30 like this guy's did?
  3. I watched a bunch of ballistic videos on 7.62x39 and it seemed like a majority of the cheaper bulk hollow points don't really expand like a defensive pistol round does, but the soft points seems to expand much better. I would choose the soft points.
  4. I'm considering night sights for my 26 and was curious if factory glock night sights are better/worse/equivalent to trijicon night sights in brightest and lifespan.
  5. Okay...I got rid of my 32 about 2 years ago and now I'm itching for a Glock again but would like a subcompact this time.  I am debating on a either 33 or 26 and just want to know how you guys like shooting a 33 WITHOUT a pinky finger extension. I don't want an extension because it would be a carry gun.
  6. All I can say is I waited in a line for 30 minutes, ONCE, for it on a black friday sale an they ran out about 5 people before I made it to the counter.  I was actually at the store to buy a bow and figured i'm here already what the heck.  Won't make that mistake again and I don't even look for it anymore.
  7. I HAVE .45ACP BRASS AND 7.62x39 BRASS(HAVE A MINI THIRTY THAT'S NOT FOND OF SURPLUS).  IS ONE EASIER TO LEARN ON THAN THE OTHER.
  8. My wife picked me up an rcbs explorer reloading set for my b-day. I'm new to reloading and wanted some input on which books are the best for a beginner. Thanks in advance for any input!

    Walther PPK

As a ppk owner all I can say is I love it!  It is the first gun I wanted but not the first gun I bought because it was "only" a .380. But every time I saw one I would stop and admire it.  I finally purchased one a few years ago and have no regrets.  It shoots as good as it looks and feels. It's by no means a .357 but it will put a bullet where I want it and that's what matters.  Like Garufa said "it's a gun that shoots bullets.  Recipients of bullets never have a good day."!!
  10. What is the all black ruger in the middle, says ruger in big letters on the slide?
  11. I plan on trying skeet or trap shooting this summer. I would like to use my coach gun, but the barrels are only 20" and have fixed chokes.. Would this be a waste of time? I have and 870 I can use, but enjoy shooting my SxS more. Thoughts?
  12. How about a tax stamp and a 10-12" upper? That's my kind of AR! I know if I every decide to build an AR it WILL be a short barrel.
  13. I dont' have this particular sight, but I recently installed the M1A style rear sight on my mini from http://www.accuracysystemsinc.com/index.php and love the ease of adjustment. Mine replaces the older style sights, but looks to have a similar style of adjustment. IMO if I had the newer style, I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the Tech Sight.
  14. I would like to go on my first hog hunt sometime this year. Does a smoked wild hog taste much different than a smoked farm raise hog? I assume a wild one it might be gamey, but I don't know anyone who has roasted a wild hog.
  15. The feel is very similar to the original wood, might actually be a little less slick. The hydrographics themselves are very thin, so don't add much to the texture, but it is sprayed with a low gloss clear coat which is actually what you feel. You can see a little wood grain through the lighter colors. If you don't want to see any wood I would suggest priming the stock before applying any graphics. There are quite a few different patterns and designs available.
  16. I shot a box of winchester 333, hp, 1280 fps through my p22 without ANY trouble. Haven't tried anything else.
  17. I've had the Butler Creek folder (felt cheap), a factory all weather stock (too plain) and the original wood (best factory look but dated) on this gun. I wanted to modernize the gun and considered a Hogue overmolded, but I think the cut and shape of the original wood stock just can't be beat, thus the hydrographics.
  18. I just got my Mini 30 back from Brian at Camodipped.com. He wrapped it in A-TACS for me and did an excellent job. Thank you Waterchicken for posting a link to his website!
  19. I have a Rem 700 VTR with a black bolt. I have shot 80-100 rds and my bolt doesn't show any wear from cycling. The only wear is very slight on the lugs that does not show when the bolt is closed, and I only really noticed it because I just went and looked to see if MY bolt had any wear.
  20. I think I'm going to, I watched an hour long video on the Great West Gunsmithing website and it explained in detail what to polish, trim and adjust to perform a trigger job on a mini. Seemed relatively basic. I have what I need. I can get a pull gauge from work to measure the trigger pull and adjust accordingly. Thanks for the encouragement!
  21. I had a Lasermax in a Glock 32. I had it for about 4 years but fire less than a box of rounds with it in. It worked good without any problems. I didn't target practice much with it because .357 sig rounds are hard on factory springs and didn't want to wear the lasermax spring out. I kept it in for home defense for fast acquisition under stress, especially at night when sights are harder to see. Plus, having a laser on an intruder might make them second guess and attack. If it's used as intended for, self defense, and not just to target shoot without having to aim down the sights than IMO it's worth it. Plus it is kinda bad azz having a laser beam coming out of the front of your pistol!
  22. I just sent my stock out for refinishing so while it's apart I will be having the trigger worked. When I get it back together I was planning on trying the hornady, I just saw some at Academy the other day.
