I read an article recently that 21" was the optimal barrel length for velocity. Any longer just gets you more sight radius and easier to swing.

A trailer must have a front weight bias or it will sway going down the road. Heavy bias on the front is not bad, doesn't have to be excessive.

I only tried it once and screwed up pretty bad as well. I read later that using a hot knife makes it much easier. -
I don't use the term often at all since it it overused a lot o the web, but this guy was a legitimate troll. Just trying to get a response and when he got one he rode that train as long as he could. I wouldn't be surprised if a lawsuit gets threatened.

Well it certainly took a turn, not which direction it's headed yet. Looks gay but it's a few posts too early to tell yet.

Well yeah, just don't have a gun in my hand.

I think another member on here has the Winchester SXAR which is identical and I think his is camo. Might be TDR, can't remember. Any comparison on weight between this and an AR-10?

That is awesome. I think it would look great with some nice wooden handles. The ultimate would be a Damascus blade and ivory handles.

thoughts on Surefire's IntelliBeam Technology
nightrunner replied to BigK's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
It's be great for a general use light but not for a weapon light or a self defense light. One of the things I HATE HATE HATE about Streamlight is their button interface goes HIGH-STROBE-LOW. And for a pocket light the size of a Surefire Backup, strobe is NOT a primary function. I use mine more as a utility light than self defense and I use low a lot. If I could disable strobe I would, it's not a useful feature to me. -
best guns for a new hunter in Tennessee
nightrunner replied to raildog's topic in Hunting and Fishing
Marlin 336 in .30/30. Then once he gets into guns he can get a Winchester :) A quality bolt gun like a Remington 700 in anything from .243 on up not including magnums. If he isn't used to shooting rifles, a magnum would likely turn him away from it as well as a magnum being completely useless in TN for hunting. A .270 will reach out there and drop anything he sees. -
Keeping it is absolutely out of the question. Not only do you have the fact that it isn't yours and it's purely stealing, but also the possibility that it may be stolen or have been used in a crime. I probably wouldn't even touch it and get my prints on it. No way in this world I would keep it though.

Hopefully so, anything to loosen the laws.

Same here. Guy at work asked who my doctor was in Manchester because his Dad was a doctor there. I told him I didn't have a doctor, he couldn't believe it. I'm 27 but I don't go to the doctor unless forced. The human body is actually pretty resilient. Just give it time and it will usually heal on its own. And your body will thank you for less processed food and more natural.

Depends on your interpretation of generation...

Former member from long time back, wasn't long after TGO was first started. He got banned too. A lot of the guys from back then aren't even around anymore.

Yeah, between kwik, and the house cleaning, there has been worse. So far. This thread has some real potential though.

I hate hipsters as much as any one, but if it makes knife carry more acceptable in the urban areas and other states, then so be it. Hipsters are about as non scary as it gets and if liberals have to fight the youngsters they are trying to get to vote for them, they won't like it.

Some large corporation will buy them up and keep them floating. Similar to Freedom Group/Cerebus

I went to their website and went to sort their handguns by caliber in the search and it didn't list .41 magnum as an option. I knew that recently the 57 was produced in their classic line but with not seeing it on their website, I assumed they had dropped it from lack of sales.

I think there was a short thread on it when it first came out in theaters. I saw it in theatre and loved it. Awesome movie. Loves the action and gunplay as we.

S&W doesn't make a .41mag anymore. Neither does Dan Wesson. Colt doesn't unless it's available from their custom shop in a SAA. Ruger sells their Blackhawk in it but that's the only current production firearm I'm aware of. Marlin doesn't make their 1894 in it anymore. I'm a gun nut and I read the magazines but I don't believe a word they say. I mostly just look at them to see if anything new has come out in the firearms world that I haven't heard about yet.

10mm vs .41mag isn't an accurate analogy. .41mag was a bit more powerful than .357mag and just a touch less than .44mag. It was developed for police wanting .44mag power with less recoil. And at a time that police were transitioning over to 9mm semi autos. It was doomed from the start. Now, 10mm, nothing can touch it in a semi auto. Maybe .45super or .460rowland bi they aren't production calibers. 10mm is THE magnum auto loader caliber. It's not going anywhere. It may fade in popularity but it's never going away.

Like troutburger, while reading it, I was thinking Rem 700 in .300blk. Or if price conscious, a Ruger American. I'm assuming that when you say 7.62, you are referring to 7.62NATO, or .308win. If so there are a few companies loading subsonic .308. The thing is, it's the same bullet as is in a .300blk and the same amount of powder and same primer just a different case and more empty space left in the larger case, which can sometimes lead to inconsistent ignition. Also you are stuck with using a larger action for the .308win. For subsonic .308 caliber, whether it's .300blk or .308win, the 208gr AMAX, 220gr SMK, or a heavy cast bullet is what is commonly used.
