Big shout out to Joe and the guys at Hero Gear

I plan to hang some cool weapons in the lounge area of the basement... a claymore and a battle-axe would be very cool. -
Attaching a butt-stock to a pistol without completing a Form 4 and paying the $200 for an NFA tax-stamp is a Federal offense, yes, your friend is lucky to not be facing charges!

As long as it doesn't 'choke' again before I'm through with its first case of ammo, I'll be happy. Looking forward to shooting it again... and I hate going to the range by myself.

That P2000 is a sweet gun, I can't wait to get my own. Sorry you and Hornet Handler didn't get to come shooting with me, but it was cool to see you guys and your new toys... and thanks for lunch! Congrats to Hornet, as well, for joining the ranks of 1911 owners today... and doing it in style! -
Just got back from the range (Terry Walden's in Manchester)... First of all, the Range Report: - Performed rapid controlled-pairs thru 2 mags off-hand/standing @ 50yd, 100% reliability, 6" (approx) group. - Slow-fired at 12"x12" steel-plate @ 300yd thru 2 mags standing & 1 mag rested, 100% reliability, sights were dead-on using the 300yd setting made hits 50% of the time standing, and all but a few rested shots missed. - Rapid-fired 1 mag + a partial mag at 25yd, easily kept all shots on a 8.5x11 sheet... reliability issue, however, 1 round experienced a failure-to-feed. It was hung up between the bolt and face of the breech. I dumped the mag, racked the carrier (which dropped the misfed round through the magwell), and reloaded with the second mag. No other issues. - Bump-fired 1 full mag at 25yd, shouldered, 100% reliable and controllable... but, I'd estimate the grouping at around 3ft dia... So, after a total of 730rd through this gun so far it has malfunctioned once. Now, the eye-candy:

Pump-action is a much more ambidextrous system... I've never laid eyes on a lefty semi-auto scatter-gun. The problem with the lefty 870 Express and installing a shorter barrel, is that I am pretty sure that the barrels between LH & RH models don't interchange. I've fired plenty of Mossburg pump-guns, and the Benelli M1 Tactical I used to own, left-handed... had no problems whatsoever.

That would depend on who paid for the gun... for example, if the receiving shop ordered the gun, it will remain in their inventory to do with as they please... but if the buyer ordered and paid for the gun through a third party (gunbroker, etc...), the gun would be returned, and the buyer refunded (minus any fees, I imagine).

The DPMS 308 AP4 carbine and SASS are very nice weapons.

Probably to prevent hot cartridges in unfired chambers to have their bullets pulled due to recoil... Which would jam up the works. If that is the case, it really wouldn't apply to the ammo I mentioned simply because they are loaded so lightly... But it's still probably better to follow the manufacturer's suggestions

For .357mag that is easy on the hand, Winchester White Box 110gr SJHPs are pretty manageable, about like a hot 9mm.

I fired it at the Oak Ridge shoot... I was impressed.

May he rest in peace, and his family find comfort... My prayers are with you and yours, Steelharp.

But, of course! I don't have to report in until 3pm on Saturday... we could go to the range in Manchester on your way back from Hero-Gear. I was planning on going out there for a couple hours anyways.

After 500 trouble-free rounds of Wolf 70gr 5.45x39 (including significant rapid and bump-firing)... I couldn't be happier with the rifle's performance. I have not yet shot it to determine it's accuracy at longer ranges, but it seems to group very tightly based on my experience sighting it in. With a proper sight on it, I expect it to be a very usable 300yd gun. The rifle is very easy to clean, even easier than most AKs, because the gas tube is free-floated and the rifle can be stripped just as quickly as any AR. The trigger is excellent, smooth and light, with a longer travel than an AR, but breaks nicely. The action is smooth, and since I have installed a buffer behind the carrier it cycles without jarring the shooter at all. Recoil is very light and controllable, also due to the effective muzzle-brake. Mag changes are slower than an AR, but with practice, one can very quickly drop the empty with the heel of the fresh mag and then snap it in place. I'll try to take a video of a few mag-dumps next time I shoot it. Overall, a very rugged and reliable rifle, easy to operate, and much higher quality than any other stamped-receiver AK I've handled. I'd certainly take it over any AR under $1000.

Even though I am presently an AK owner... I recognize that, on a battle-field, one is far more likely to find an AK in the hands of a dead combatant than an AR. Not sure that is entirely the fault of the weapons' system, however. back to topic, Good plug Rabbi... Joe can indeed get anything one might ever need.

If you cut off Wolverine's head, would the head grow another body, or would his body grow another head... or both? (!!!)

What's wrong with this look? It's functional.

I forsee that I will be looking into a few more commie mil-surp guns... an SKS is on my short-list, along with a CZ-52, CZ-82, and SSG-82 (if there are any still on the market Joe can get ahold of for me).

Ordered an aluminum 4-rail handguard today... ...I'll be installing a VFG and a weaponlight, for sure, and hopefully an EoTech in the not-too-distant future.
-
May it forever remain so.
-
Definitely use protection, too...

In such an event... it would be good to know that there would be other survivors in my area. I'll be on my roof with the Mosin. BYOB

The only class I ever failed, or even came close, was the result of a differing opinion with one English professor over a paper I wrote and presented... he thought I was 'insensitive'.
