  1. Thank you. This being the case, the OP has no grounds to negatively review On-Target for services that he isn't paying for, on a gun that isn't his... This thread is closed, any further discussion should be between the actual owner of the firearm and the business, offline. This will not turn into a bitch-fest.
  2. Sharpertek Ultrasonic Cleaners & Ultrasonic and Steam Jewelry Cleaners I use it for everything... guns, tools, car parts. It's awesome.
  3. I used to do this religiously, especially to my carry pistols and rimfires... then I bought an ultrasonic cleaner and it does an even better job. Now I just disassemble at intervals to change essential springs, and it's already clean.
  4. Woo hoo! Three year old thread back to life...
  5. 1911s require a bit more attention when being fitted together, on top of being entirely machined metal instead of 50-cent polymer molds with stamped frames pressed inside... you'll find that the cast-frame 'GI' guns are more in the $450-$500 range though, and function just as well albeit with a shorter expected life and looser tolerances (less accurate). But very few people could test the fatigue limits of a cast-frame 1911, much less a more expensive forged frame, so that really shouldn't be a consideration, unless you plan to send $10,000 worth of ammo through the gun (in which case, spending an extra $300 on a forged frame 1911 is a drop in the bucket).
  6. Welcome home!
  7. Why do ya think the IRS bought all those shotguns last year....?
  8. Excellent 1911 for the money... and easily upgradeable. The one I have was my wife's, and between us we wore it out... I just got through freshening it up, and it's my favorite shooter.
  9. European automakers are no better... seemingly indiscriminate alphanumeric combinations are the norm. In the case of Glocks, the numbering is simply the order in which they were released or developed... one gets used to it.
  10. PISTOLS: 1) Beretta 92F, FS, or M9A1 with threaded barrel and suppressor 2) Railed Commander 1911 with threaded barrel and suppressor 3) S&W NightGuard .45acp revolver SHOTGUNS: 1) Stoeger Double-Defense 12ga 2) Benelli M4 or M1014 with conventional stock 3) Mossberg 590A1 14" SBS RIFLES/CARBINES: 1) Transferrable MP5 2) Benelli R1 .30-06 ...I have a feeling this list will take awhile to procure.
  11. The real losers here are the taxpayers... and anyone who takes care of themselves... and the doctors... basically anyone who isn't a deadbeat or illegal alien.
  12. You can make a pistol into a rifle or an SBR... but you can't make a rifle into a pistol.
  13. I support the NRA with my time locally... I simply don't want to be on their ridiculous mailing list.
  14. Either the PMAGs or the HK Magazines are supposed to be the most reliable... The PMAGs are half the price.
  15. Thanks Joe... you put it way better than I did.
  16. I'd personally prefer this not be rehashed... Bill said some insensetive things but he did also offer what I truly believe were heartfelt condolances. I haven't given it another thought, forgiven, forgotten, moved on with what's left of my life and hold no grudges. I don't think Bill is a bad guy at all... a bit full of himself, intellectually, but wouldn't intentionally hurt anybody further than frustrate them with sarcasm, he's no longer here because he doesn't play well with others, that's all. I was actually happy to see he got some press, and that it was pretty positive overall. The only thing that ruffled my feathers was the assertion that I should 'Grow up and get over it', as if it should have been taken so lightly. He is an @$$hole... and if that's out of line, I'll be happy to ban myself. But back on topic... I enjoyed the article, made me giggle.
  17. Rights are an ideal... which I agree take dedication, strength and struggle to claim, retain and exercise. That is being chipped away. The 'People' have gotten weaker, less dedicated and less free, while the government has gotten stronger and exchanged our rights for regulated permission and temporary 'security'. If the people get weak enough and restricted enough, we will either just go quietly into the night, or the process will restart with the intent to return to a simpler governance and better defined freedom.
  18. That's pretty crappy... on one hand I suppose they don't want to get hit with an investigation, but on the other it isn't hard to verify your state of residence and they should accept that.
  19. A salute to both of you
  20. $500 sounds right to me, as well.
  21. I plan to get a set... mainly because the stock Glock sights suck, and close in fast shooting is what it does best. I'll put precision sights on precision target pistols.

    Bushmaster M4?

So, it's a post-ban configuration Bushmaster M4 (fixed telestock and no muzzle device)? If so, he'd be doing good to get $750 cash... unless it comes with several magazines or an optic, etc...
  23. Won't be the last time I miss a point. Heh... I agree with your assessment.
