  1. It's almost as if the laws were designed to create a "don't ask, don't tell" sentiment regarding carrying a handgun... essentially, we get an official looking ID card and an obscure set of laws that make us feel as if we still don't have permission because we can never be sure who's got the ability to say we can't. It's BS. There are too many laws besides these, it's impossible to not unknowingly break some obscure law every day, as has been pointed out many times... so, when a little sticker or little laminated card in my wallet makes the difference between legal and illegal, we're way past ridiculous. I give up worrying about it.
  2. The type of people we choose to honor in this country really shows how low we've sunk.
  3. Mmmmmmm, bacon-wrapped and stuffed... I hope that's what heaven is like.
  4. Blasphemy!!!
  5. 2 gal of distilled water, treated for storage. 3600 cal bars Toilet paper Batteries Chem-lights First-Aid Kit and Trauma Kit Camping utensils and some MREs A variety of compact tools/multitools, knife, etc... Matches, road flare, flask of Everclear. Copies of all my important documents/ID Cash Poncho Change of clothes Spare battery for the cellphone (charged, I rotate them every once in a while) Aluminum water bottle with water purification tablets and some vitamins/meds inside. There's more, but that's the high-points, off the top of my head.
  6. I'd take the AR... 5.56 for medium size game and humans/zombies, and .22lr conversion can be installed/removed in seconds for small game or very very quiet zombie assassination using 60gr Colibris through the suppressor.
  7. There is indeed a difference between being prepared to kill if necessary, and wanting to kill, necessity or not.
  8. Mustard goes better with more things... but special applications do require some mayo, as far as I am concerned. But still, mustard makes the most difference in taste.
  9. Truth ^ I run 3" 000 Buck primarily... it sucks, even through a semi-auto.
  10. +1 for the Hebrew Nat'l. I voted mustard... but I occassionally put some mayo on there as well.
  11. I hope he's taking his unruly spawn with him as well...
  12. The difference is minimal... reason being that the 9 pellets from one will leave the barrel with greater velocity than the 12 from the other will. Just different loads as different tools for different jobs. The 9-pellet loads are generally more accurate, and due to higher velocity will be effective for a longer range... the 12 pellet would be good for a close-up need to fill something with lead quickly.
  13. I have some neighbors who are liberals, I should start having them over for dinner to fatten them up... hmmm....
  14. No experience with this personally... but having the muzzle threaded and installing a Magna-Brake (or any decent muzzle-brake) would be the most effective.
  15. The objective of using a weapon to preserve your own life by stopping the threat is exactly right, as you said... but I believe the point which is being made to you is that we must also recognize the fact that using a firearm as a weapon is universally considered 'deadly force', whether or not the intent is to kill. That is why it is impossible to separate the argument that if you use deadly force, you do so with the knowledge that killing is a potential result. We see where you're soming from. Basically, it is not our intent to kill, but it is recognized as a consequential result of our decision to use deadly force as a justifiable response while defending our lives.
  16. The M&P would be the natural suggestion, in 9mm.
  17. I had one... great shotgun. I busted a few clays with it too, but it was only good close in, because of the short-ish 20" barrel and no choke. I would buy another.
  18. With greater velocity there is greater expansion... which is great when the bullet can retain structural integrity. Higher velocity 115gr bullets penetrate less because of this, and because they have less sectional density for a given surface area. Official 10% ordinance gelatin results! - AR15 Armory.com The data speaks for itself.
  19. ...it makes us appreciate when we had/have it good. Keep trucking brother, all tests can be passed.
  20. Guns were created to fire bullets. The person using the gun makes the decision to kill using those bullets.
  21. Water isn't a reliable test media... nearly any high velocity projectile will disintegrate when it hits water. I have seen several ballistics gelatin test with DT loads and they performed exceptionally. More penetration and expansion than regular Speer Gold Dot loads. The higher velocity is why I use their 147gr load in the 9mm though, instead of 115gr (which are marginal with any bullet or load).
  22. Guns are designed to fire a bullet... a bullet is designed to have some effect on whatever it hits... what the bullet hits is entirely up to the intent and skill of the person operating the gun, and the effect of the bullet upon whatever the person using the gun makes it hit is entirely up to the person who chose the bullet, based on its terminal characteristics.
  23. If it was in a shot cup, it wouldn't do anything... but without one it would definetly take some metal with it.
  24. I've carried in several hospitals... never saw a sign, but wasn't looking for one either.
