It snowed a bit, but it didn't stick around. Totally a non-event. It's actually supposed to warm up this weekend, and not precipitate any more for a few days. Oh well...

Kwanzaa offends me, since I learned of its origins... Doesn't mean I'm going to be a little bitch about it though.

The 9mm is just plinking ammo... The 12ga is SHTF ammo, figured a 250rd case of Remington 3" 10-pellet 000-Buck shells might be worth having around to put down zombies. Outdoor Marksman had the best price on that particular load (which patterns the best out of my shotty)

I have been waiting 5 weeks for 2K of 9mm from Georgia-Arms... and I just got the case of 12ga 000-Buck I ordered from Outdoor Marksman 4 weeks ago.

I love mine... but they are a bit bulky for concealed carry.

Ammo source: http://www.eliteammunition.com/catView.php And on the gun... never owned one myself, but I've handled a few and shot one. It is as others have said, a low-recoil tack-driver. The trigger isn't bad, the sights are ok, the grip sucks, but the balance overall is very natural. You will either love or hate the location of the safety (I personally hate it), but I think one of these would be an excellent option to suppress and put an illuminator on the rail, and keep for home defense (that or a suppressed, SBR'ed PS90 perhaps)... Reason being, the caliber tends to not penetrate as far as conventional pistol or rifle calibers, through standard building materials.

I think that I might just open my own... btw... dead serious on all counts.

Why not let them fix it under warranty?

Informing a LEO that your carrying, at a traffic stop
molonlabetn replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I hear they respond well to 'favors'... Doesn't help me though. If I ever get pulled over by a black & tan, I'll just be like: "I admit it, I was speeding, go ahead and write me the ticket... I don't feel like b*****g you just to save time..." -

To put a different spin on it... LEO: "Afternoon sir, are you aware of why I pulled you over?" ME: "No sir, but here is my drivers license and my fishing license... I just wanted to warn you that I have been fishing today, and I have a cooler full with me right now." LEO: (radioing the Game Warden for backup and drawing his sidearm) "Sir, I need you to step out of the vehicle..." Point is... if it's not relevant to the traffic stop, there's no need to complicate matters (ie, let him tell you why he pulled you over instead of announcing irrelevant personal business)... But, it's whatever works for each person. -

There is no reason for a badge... you have a permit. Anybody can buy a badge, it's just a trinket. "Bling", if you will. -
Blackwater Security Guards (2 from TN?!?)

They are... but not to perpetrate crimes with. This is bull:poop: -
I will look into it. Hopefully we can merge your profiles to retain all of your posts, and get the correct e-mail address set up.

I trust that God gave me a brain and wits to prepare for and use any tools or means necessary for my preservation. Looking for lightning bolts to zap a rapist before he can harm you is pretty dumb. When David went up against Goliath, he made sure to take a sling and some stones with him... the faith part was in him hitting his target. Same goes for me, I pray.

Informing a LEO that your carrying, at a traffic stop
molonlabetn replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don't get pulled over except once in a blue moon (expired tags and a headlight is about as exciting as my life gets)... but the subject didn't come up, and the contact was always short and sweet. The most attention I've ever received from law-enforcement, even out of the many times I have been observed open-carrying, was a quick "You do have a permit, right?" by a Gallatin LEO... but they didn't have any interest in seeing it when I offered, I think the question was more for the benefit of anybody else around who may have wondered if I was 'ok', than because they had any concern. To paraphrase something Mars used to say when this conversation came up, if you look like somebody who is responsible enough to have a gun, you generally won't get a sideways look (at least 99% of the time, it seems). I guess that's a form of profiling, if you think about it... but I've carried nearly everywhere one would want to go, in mid-tn, for years... and I don't have a single horror story, even open-carrying quite frequently in the summer. I guess another thing is the issue of a traffic stop is that you've already drawn some negative attention from the LEO (unless it's just a documentation or equipment issue), and he's looking for a reason to make it more than a traffic stop (let's be honest)... but even moreso, he already questions your judgment (hence the blue-lights), and doesn't want any surprises. That's completely understandable... Thing is, if I was pulled over, and the LEO seemed jumpy for some reason, the last thing I would do is introduce the fact that I also have a deadly weapon with me before he even gets a chance to evaluate my demeanor and become more at ease. -
LEFT 4 DEAD-ZOMBERIFFIC!!! (PC and XBOX game)

Played this over at a friend's house the other day, in co-op mode online... it freakin rocks. I might actually get into gaming now. -
Other than the MRE's and water in the bug-out-bags, I just keep a bunch of canned stuff and crackers in rotation... I plan on getting a bunch of dried stuff, and a way to store alot more potable water, but that'll have to happen after I move.

I didn't see a correct posting at the one in Coffee County when I was there yesterday to get my motorcycle endorsement. They did have signs everywhere with just the circle and slash, though. No legal reason to not carry there if it's not posted according to the T.C.A.

Looks like a winner... personally, I'm looking forward to the S&W 940 I finally found on gunbroker. It's too bad they quit making those.

Nothing wrong with having another option... just a new tool in the toolbox. Personally though, I don't expect to put stock in any projectile more 'fancy' than a regular Gold-Dot until somebody develops a viable 'brain-seeking' guided bullet. A better application for this would be in heavy, slow JHPs which tend to have expansion issues moreso than the light, fast projectiles which have more to lose with regard to effective penetration when they do expand.

Liberalism is a mental disorder... she's simply in the advanced stages. I rather pity her, in her depravity. But, I wouldn't shed a tear if I never heard from her again either.

Those gun-shows are not worth a 2hr drive, that's for sure.

Remember Duralube? A friend of my dad's with an old jeep comanche decided to see how long it would run with a bottle of Duralube and filled up the rest of the way with just water... ran great, as long as he topped off the water every so often (boiled off pretty quick). Don't know how many miles he put on it that way, but it certainly worked, and didn't burn any more oil than before once he drained it out and went back to conventional oil. I wonder if KY would work?

I used to tool around up on the mountain in a moderate-setup '00 Tacoma on 35s... I'd like to get another one, but I will most likely just get a 4-wheeler ATV since I don't need another vehicle.
