  1. What about an EoTech 557 with a flip-to-side 4X magnifier? That's what I intend to put on the FS2000 I hope to own within a few weeks...
  2. How dare anyone question the sovereignty of 'The One'?! Such an unwarranted search for facts is obviously racism... Eh... I really couldn't care less if he was born on the moon... Being a legitimate citizen doesn't make him any more desireable as the leader of the 'free' world, in my eyes. Quite simply, he could turn out to be Bin Laden's nephew, and many would still staunchly support him, there's no use in stressing over details now... the truth really no longer holds much sway in this country. The damage is already done, all we can really do now is work to ensure that most of his policies fail, using the remaining checks and balances available to us.
  3. You would be hard-pressed to find a slimmer .40 than the Walther PPS or Kahr PM40. While the S&W 642 would be a great choice, it's not in the caliber you specified. The Glocks, even the G36, would be just as big as the XD you already have. A Springfield EMP 1911 in .40s&w might be a good choice... but considerably more expensive.
  4. Wow... The scary part is that folks like this BREED.
  5. Well, not any place... private clubs, etc which are not 'open to the public' do not fall under the specific wording of the code, and it is correct that one can carry on the premesis of their own establishment:

  7. All of my guns are unregistered. What's the big deal?
  8. It is illegal to carry inside a building which is open to the public, which serves alcohol for on-site consumption.
  9. +1 Fall Creek Falls
  10. I'd like to see it in a lever-action as well... would make a helluva varmint cartridge, from a longer barrel. That, and an airweight J-Frame, I would totally buy.
  11. Are you considering .450 Bushmaster as well? I have no experience with any of them (other than fondling them at one time or another), but I always heard that .458 Socom was the best choice if you intend to reload.
  12. That is an excellent point... and the only one I need to be totally against allowing such behavior in such a critical environment. Otherwise I wouldn't really care.
  13. tru dat

    1911, why?

One thing to consider, and you may already know this, is that by carrying a 1911 with the hammer down, the gun has a chance of being able to discharge if it is dropped since the hammer is not held away from the pin and the safeties are disengaged. Just something to consider.
  15. Some people really talk that way, is the scary part...
  16. Difference is the Wolf ammo uses a steel casing, which does not feed or extract as smoothly, and may actually gradually weaken the extractor of an AR... and the powder used in the russian ammo is very dirty, expect to need to clean the gun at least twice as much.
  17. I have only bought stuff on there if it was a smokin deal or if it was something I couldn't find anywhere else. But haven't been too dissapointed, the shipping/faxing/paying ordeal is a bit of a hassle in some cases.

    1911, why?

The only real advantages the 1911 has are the slimness (for carry), the awesome trigger, and the excellent ergonomics. Other than that, it's pretty old tech (which still works just fine though) and there are higher capacity pistols on the market which are at least lighter to carry, just as accurate, and are arguably more reliable for the money. Thing is, some folks still carry revolvers, too... there's a niche for everything, depending on your preference and purpose.
  19. 2000rd of 9mm 'Canned Heat' from Georgia-Arms.
  20. Subjectively, there are subtle differences in the grip angle/contour between the subcompact, compact & fullsize frames... and then of course there is the option of the larger grip of the .45 and 10mm guns, which also have regular and 'Short-Frame' sizes. Personally, the G36 has the best grip angle, and even though it does require a long reach to the trigger, it is comfortably slim.
  21. Federal Tactical Bonded 135gr +p and I've got some 115gr +p+ Gold Dots as well.
  22. I had a 590 which I kept loaded all the time. Never really needed to clean it much, other than bore-snake the dust-bunnies out of it, and wipe it down with a silicone cloth and a light mist of WD40. I did replace the mag-tube spring a couple times though, and I always left the hammer down on an empty chamber before I loaded the mag-tube, to keep the hammer spring from taking a set.
  23. Unions were necessary at one time (safety and fairness issues primarily)... but that time is long gone. The quoted comments are right on, and based on my own personal experience having to deal with union workers... productivity and morale suffers because it creates an artificial 'us vs. them' mentality. And on top of that, the legacy costs incurred by unions' inflating worker cost without increasing value have ruined many companies, and resulted in the export of many jobs... one might even point to illegal immigration as a symptom of how broken the labor market really is.
  24. I think I'd rather have several MREs and give up some of the ammo... if it looks like a fight, I'm staying home where I'm better armed. I've got 2 of these loaded up http://east.outdoormarksman.com/product_info.php?products_id=69336
