  1. Wow... very nice! I particularly liked Joe's explanation of why that gun will be worth the investment. ...still waiting for somebody to comment that you could buy 10 Glocks for that much
  2. Ban them! If people didn't have such quick access to large sums of cash, criminals wouldn't be tempted to commit robberies! The first step is to introduce some common-sense ATM restrictions... first, limit transactions to $10, subject to a 3-day waiting period; and second, register the s/n of every bill withdrawn to the identity of the account-holder, for verification when spent... also, private transfers of cash must then be strictly prohibited, both parties must visit a bank to register any transfer.
  3. Estate auctions can be a good place to pick up a specimen... but rarely do they go for what I would consider a 'bargain'. I wouldn't touch a yard-sale or flea-market gun with a 10-foot pole.
  4. Went cheap tonight... Natty Ice. halfway through the case it all tastes the same anyways... Other note... I went and saw Swing Vote with my brother and sister in-law just now. It was much better than I expected. I totally want a chocolate UZI now...
  5. They were described to me, by several people who would know, that it is basically an AR180 built with more metal, and twice the price. You'd be better off getting a gas-piston AR that you could actually get parts for.
  6. Having owned both of those guns (two of the XD-9 SCs, actually)... There is no comparison. The XD is more accurate, easier to field-strip, has a better trigger & better sights, and is reliable. I don't miss my PT145 one bit.
  7. I'd lean towards the Sig... but it really depends on what you are going to do with it. The Sig is bulkier and heavier, but it's probably going to be more accurate at long range. The FN is pretty handy, but it's too unconventional and has too much plastic for my taste...
  8. I had a P239 in .357sig... It was a very manageable size for concealed carry, my biggest issue was that it was almost as heavy as a P229, but with a lower capacity. Great shooter though.
  9. Yeah, that combined with the track-surface... They'll figure it out eventually.
  10. The poor guy is obviously handicapped... his heart is in the right place, but his mind is nowhere to be found, unfortunately. I wish that more competent people had his initiative... It's sad, really... that nobody has told him to seek other avenues of making a difference which would be more suitable for him (and us). Funny as hell though... taken at face value.
  11. Hence the advantage of a mounted light... Armpit and teeth would surely work in a pinch, though.
  12. Factory the pull is around 12lb... so 8lb is a noticable improvement.
  13. What I want to know is... has the kid been back to the Hooters?
  14. The real racecars which use that track don't seem to have any problems... Maybe it's a downforce issue, more than anything else?
  15. I wish... But, we're seeing it again in the form of the growing illegal labor force. It's already biting us in a very similar manner.
  16. Maybe this thread needs to be re-titled to: "Attractive semi-famous women who make watching otherwise boring television worthwhile" I'm all about watching White House Press Conferences on C-Span, since Dana Perino took over...
  17. I was going by the specs I have seen in the article: http://springfield-armory.intermediaoutdoors.com/SPstory23.php But I have also weighed my XD-9SC just now to verify, and came up with just a hair over 20oz. The Service model weighs 26oz empty, for sure.

  19. I Love TN... but this state is behind the times on almost everything (in some ways that's not necessarily bad).
  20. Public edjacashun at its fynest.
  21. ...after jumping the fence...
  22. Because HK thinks we suck, and they hate us...
  23. Truer words have never been spoken.
