  1. I've owned 5 XDs... still have 2 of them, both XD-9s. Great pistols with many upgrades available, and super reliable. I've had 2 of mine break striker roll-pins, but they still shot perfectly until I noticed and had a chance to fix them. No functional malfunctions related to the guns. Springfield customer service is great.
  2. I'm so tactical... Oops, wrong thread Seriously though, if this were closer to me, I'd love to get in on it.
  3. They are the same. 10mm Norma Auto is the correct designation, but most people don't bother to write that. Very cool by Wilson to offer these calibers... just one more thing to want.
  4. I had a 22A for awhile. It was more reliable and easier to care for than the Ruger I had... but wasn't quite as accurate (for me). Still, a great plinker... and it's right at home with a red-dot on top of it. The only thing to look out for during disassembly is the recoil assembly, and that little plastic buffer. It can end up across the room if you're not careful. Mine came with a few extra buffers for that reason (that, and I think you're supposed to change them every so many rounds).
  5. Hmmm... back when I handled one of these, I prayed for them to fix the trigger... hanging a dingus on it wasn't exactly what I meant though.

Have you seen any with the Safety and Decocker ability yet? Mine just has the Decocker, and I would upgrade (either with parts or another gun) for sure. The FN rep I talked to said that they didn't have a conversion available, back when I got it, but I'm hoping that I don't have to trade this gun off to get what I want.

Didn't have any discomfort issues with the grip on mine... it is very grippy though, leaves a meat-tenderizer'esque pattern on the palm of my strong-hand, but I prefer sharp checkering. I could see where sensitive hands might not take to it well... my wife hated it.

Finally somebody else who has one!
  10. The SW99 was a clone of the Walther P99. S&W simply imported them (and made some S&W specific parts & models to distinguish themselves from Walther). The two guns have basically nothing in common, other than they have polymer frames and are striker-fired. The P99 is more like the Glock or Steyr than anything else. The M&P is more like the XD (based on how the action works)
  11. I don't think that I can fill in the ditch without the city getting onto me... (it's by the road). I think that I'd eventually like to just lay pipe and fill in over it so that I don't have to deal with the ditch at all.
  12. I can't ride or push-mow the ditch, or get close enough to some of my bushes & shrubs, so I gotta get dirty... I usually only do it every other time I mow.
  13. I ran over a chew toy, and it blew the mulching guard off of the deck... so, I'll be spraying grass all over when I'm finishing up later. It's a rider. My lawn is on a hill, pushing is hell. Besides, the rider has a cupholder for my beer I also had a frigging walnut fall on me when I was mowing under one of the walnut trees... cracked me right behind the kneecap, damn thing must've come from the very top branch. Uneventful otherwise. Didn't run out of beer... but I'll have to go get more gas I think, and I might just pick up some more beer just in case.
  14. I got the front mowed yesterday before I had to go play softball... Still need to do the back, and do the trimming this afternoon.
  15. It is my understanding that they fit nicely in Glock holsters...
  16. It disables the fire-control when there is no magazine inserted (or if it improperly inserted). Not necessarily a deal-breaker... but it is one more thing to break, and renders a chambered round useless in a panic situation if the magazine drops (which M&Ps have been known to do). It's a California (and a few other states') requirement, along with the 10rd magazine thing. You can get M&Ps without the mag-safety, btw... they are pretty common, actually. I've never seen an M&P around here with it, to tell the truth.
  17. Actually, I recall hearing that the earlier Sigmas were the best... after Glock sued them over the design, S&W changed a few things and by accounts didn't get it quite as right. Either way, I've fired several examples many times and never had a malfunction, even when really dirty and really hot.
  18. It almost looked like there was a VFG on the gun. Pretty dumb.
  19. Haven't all of Rabbi's advertisement threads been locked?
  20. Do you load 9mm? This XD of mine has shown to be scary accurate whenever I've actually stood still and shot it (limited of course by my own incompetence). I'd be interested to see if hand-rolled rounds would make a difference from the bulk-reloads I get from Georgia-Arms or Atlanta-Arms...
  21. I applied yesterday. Who can pass up a 12,000lb of sauerkraut per year salary?
  22. They are probably busy making my ammo
  23. www.georgia-arms.com btw, if you want a partial box of Double-Tap 185gr Gold Dot ammo, let me know. You can have it.
  24. I'm thinking an M3X (big gun, big light... makes sense)
  25. Apparently, you hadn't had enough to drink yet. Women are like a fine wine... Once you open the bottle, ya' better drink it that night! (yes, that was a joke)
