  1. Yes! The video says they found a RuEger?
  2. Being a big fan of the XD series, I'd suggest the XD 45 Compact (if a compact is what you want).
  3. OH NO!!!! Me like girls, a lot! It could very well be a tweener. I don't know--Maybe I'll change my mind, once I get my hands on one of them.
  4. Yes, I know. But, the pictured XD looks like a 4" Service model, not the 5" tactical. I could be wrong, though. If it is the 4", the space on the new XD looks to be nearly twice as much as the current 4" models.
  5. I'm a huge XD fan, but I'm not sure about this. I'm wondering if this is a prototype, or the finished product. It's a bit on the wild side, but I could almost get used to it, if it weren't for all the space at the end of the frame/barrel. Unless that changes, I'm not likely to add one of these to my collection.
  6. I'm not doubting you one bit. I wasn't aware of any laws that required them to have possession of the firearm. Obviously, it's not beyond LEO's to break the law. I just tell them that I'm interested in purchasing a firearm, and I'd like to make sure it's not stolen.
  7. Most of the time it was done before I purchased the gun. The only time it was "after" is when my father gave me a Ruger .357 Blackhawk that he'd purchased from a truck driver. After finding out where/who he purchased it from, I called to have the number checked.
  8. I've purchased a few guns via a FTF transaction, and I simply call the Metro Police Dept. to find out if the gun has been reported stolen. They've never given me any trouble. Now that I think about it, I also did this another time in Overton County. I called the OCSD. No troubles with them either.
  9. Look at the Cold Steel Gunsite II. My boss has 5 or 6 of them. I just ordered one for about $56. Check out the video. [ame] [/ame]
  10. What? XD 40, 4" Service Model. Why? It's my right.
  11. That makes perfect sense. I'm glad to know you'll meet or beat prices. I've been in your location a few times, and I was always treated wonderfully. I'll be back. As far as the LEO scenario, I would have been kinda pi$$ed as well. I've never been "that kind" of shopper, but I am looking for the best price. I usually ask what the best price is, and it will either be good enough for me to buy, or it won't. I'm not about to bicker anyone down, especially if there are already discounts involved.
  12. Here's one 5.11 Tactical First Responder Tanto
  13. Just curious--Where did this happen? Just be thankful you're not on a slab next to the truck driver they found dead in Franklin today. Must have had a heart attack while sleeping. Dunno.
  14. "Mitchell's Country Store On Christmasville Rd right outside of Jackson". Jackson Tennessee, that is.
  15. OUCH! Sorry to hear about this. Hope you heal soon.
  16. Price shopping for a gun (or many other readily available items), and price shopping to have a deck built (just an example) is not the same thing. When buying a gun (for example), it's an item that will be exactly the same no matter where you buy it, unless it's messed up from the factory. If I buy an XD40 (for example) at Jim Bob's Gun Tavern, it will be the exact same product that I could buy at countless other retailers. there will be almost no chance of quality differences. If something goes wrong with the gun, it would likely be the responsibility of the manufacturer, not Jim Bob's Gun Tavern. On the other hand--If I were having a deck built (again, for example), I wouldn't necessarily look for the cheapest price. Reputation, referrals, BBB reports, ect. would be just a few other considerations worth looking into. Afterall, the person building the deck will be responsible if anything were to go wrong.
  17. No, I wasn't questioning the price of the mentioned store. I was questioning pricing in general. I believe $525 is a very fair price, but if I can find it cheaper, I'm gonna take it for the cheaper price. Call me silly, but I'd rather not throw money down the drain, simply because someone wants/needs to make a few extra buck off me.
  18. If you want a shop that's likely to have what you're looking for, make the trip to Guns & Leather in Greenbrier. In my opinion, they're the best all around gun shop. Very few will have their selection, and most can't/won't beat thier prices. Bellshires Hardware, on Dickerson Rd. (yes, they sell guns) has always been able to beat the prices of everyone around (when I was looking for something), but they lack the selection. I don't mind waiting a day or two for the savings I get with them. Since gas is roughly $3.50/gallon, I'd suggest calling around first. if you're only interested in the LCP, I wouldn't spend $50 in gas, simply to find out no one has one. Again, Guns & Leather and Bellshires would be my first choices. Guns & Leather is more likely to have one in stock. They had 3 of them when I was there last, but they sold right away. Happy Hunting.
  19. She's a keeper, without a doubt. I'd brag, too.
  20. Wonder what happened next? Part Deux?
  21. Don't mean to hijack this love fest, but does this video stop and go for everyone else? For some reason, in the last week or so, it seems as if most of the videos I watch seem to be buffering very slowly. I can;t watch most videos without them stopping a dozen or more times throughout the length of the video.
  22. I know how ones personal ideology can turn things into a heated discussion. Because of this, I still love all of you. You're my favorite bunch of gun nuts...errrrr....enthusiasts I've ever posted with. Still, with the exception of one. Listen to this song a few times, you'll feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 23. I love this place, and everyone here. Well, except one.
  24. Watching Tony wreck is always a great race.
  25. I find it very difficult to drag myself to gun shows anymore, unless I really need something I'm not able to find locally or on-line. With the invention of the internet, that's become more and more rare. The $8-$10 entrance fee isn't quite an issue for me, but the lack of "deals" are few and far between. I almost never find prices that I can't find/beat in a local shop. On the other hand, if you're looking for a place to simply mingle with other gun enthusiasts, you can't hardly beat a gun show.
