Don't worry about about that. If an uninsured motorist is judged to be liable they are responsible for the entire judgement. If they're broke, it may take years to get it, if ever. However the judgement will follow them for the rest of their life. The moral of the story is pay your insurance premiums.

Everybody answer this in your own mind. If by accident you shoot an innocent by stander, are sued and have judgement against you for $750,000 how are you going to pay it without general liability? Homeowners might cover a fraction of it but you are responsible for all of it.

It's a good idea because homeowners doesn't cover every possibility and the limits are a lot lower. If your dog bites the neighbor kid or if you are the cause of a car crash and your auto policy limits out, GL would kick in and cover the rest.

It is possible to get an umbrella general liability policy connected with your home owners policy. If you're an up standing citizen it is very affordable.

Like you said it's a hobby. Go get one, if you don't like it you're not married to it, trade it for something else that catches your eye.

I agree with your point. The truly poor shouldn't have to pay the taxes. Many of the flat tax proposals I've seen have a point at which they begin. In other words, everybody's first $50,000, for example would be exempt.

Currently, the poor guy ($9,000 income) would have a tax rate of 0% because of the earned income tax credit. Not only that, the IRS refunds all his tax payments and sends him some more on top of that.

This is the exception not the rule. There are so many Glocks around that anyone can know the actual value of a G19. If you search on GB you can see many 19s selling in the normal price range. I can also send you to three LGS that have them in stock in the $5-600 range. There will always be brainless people around.
