  1. There's always those old strip mines up on Windrock mountain just past the Brushy Mountain facility. Don't know how good that is for an extended session. May be more of a get in and out as quick as possible thing.
  2. Good idea. Never been but have heard of it.
  3. You must take pictures while there so we can all drool!
  4. Where to begin?... I've never been there myself and have put the trip off for too long! First, have you got your creds to buy from CMP? Second, from what I hear on the CMP forum there are only Field Grade Garands to be had at the store right now. All the service grades are held up for mail orders. But there are lots of carbines. If it was me, I would be looking for a Springfield Armory with a serial number below 3,800,000. That's WWII manufacture. Then I would look for the best wood you can and best bore. It's my understanding that the staff there is most helpful. Especially a guy name Leon.
  5. Fiero, I did not take my class from Mike Lett but have heard only good things about his class. From members here and elsewhere. I would have taken from him but was able to squeeze into another class last year without having to wait. I personally wish I had taken the class from an LEO (or at least this one). Like Mike.357 said he also runs a gun business on the side and is always set up at the Knoxville shows. He has the lowest prices on new guns that you will find there. Mainly S&W, SA & Kahr. Done business with him twice myself.
  6. If you mean ORSA, that's a private club. I'm down for whatever. Just need to get my shoot on.
  7. Not sure about medium or high, but I got see-through mounts for my 10/22 so I can use the iron sights too. Just a suggestion.
  8. I've got a Ruger Mark II bull barrel that will be with me till the end. Great gun, accurate, and there is no trigger pull to speak of. You can't go wrong with that. Don't have any experience with the new Mark III's but the one thing that Ruger does well is .22's. They started out that way.
  9. We're gonna needs pictures of that? Front sight & stock please.
  10. You might be able to set things right for just a few bucks...Parts....Winchester | 190 | e-GunParts.com
  11. Easy now oldfella, this thing has been around since '97... The Inter-American Convention Against the Illicit Manufacturing of and Trafficking in Firearms, Ammunition, Explosives, and Other Related Materials Not sure if the US ever ratified it, like it means anything anyway.
  12. What's wrong with you people? The man invented the internet. Doesn't that at least deserve a bobble-head or little action figure?
  13. Man, if I hear that one more time....
  14. You could sell that at a gun show, or store, for 5 times more.
  15. Did you hear this at a gun store?
  16. Marlin. There is no other.
  17. +1 There were so many people there I'll never remeber you all so if you notice me some where please say hello! Great day, great time. Good people! Thanks Mark & Sue! BTW, OS, that bark was AWE-INSPIRING! There's already some pic posted...... http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/show-tell/20241-pics-fun-april-shoot.html
  18. It was a Blast! Good to meet everyone and applause go out to Mark & Sue for hosting a great event!
  19. Did you tell them you were shooting steel-cased ammo? Just wondering if that new barrel would be free or how Glock stands up to the customer service test.
  20. Garufa

    WHAT? $48.00

    Welcome to 2009!
  21. I see...Caliber is hard to recommend. They all work and work well. May just want to start shopping around for what feels best in her hands. Then there is the matter that ammo for any caliber is just about impossible to get now, unless you are willing to pay premium prices.
  22. If you cut the ring then the higher number counts. I score myself as if the bullet itself obviously touched ring, not paper tears from being really close. But that just who I am.
  23. Just my opinion, but don't start out a new shooter on a 9mm or any other centerfire round. Get or rent a .22 to teach the basics of handling, operation and safety. Then graduate to the big leagues for a possbile carry piece. What you might not consider a great amount of recoil a gal that's only got 110 lbs could. If .22 is all she can handle, then so be it. It's better than nothing and that little round has taken plenty of people down.
