    Snow

We had about 2 inches here in Knoxville. Kids have already been out and played in it and are back in drinking hot chocolate. Needless to say there is no more snow in our front yard. Love the quietness that comes with snow!
  3. For what those guys are doing though, I think a shotgun is a great weapon. Far superior to a pistol without having to worry about how many walls the missed shoot is going to penetrate. I tend to prefer a regular stock though. Easier to aim with than a pistol grip. Doesn't look as cool though.
  4. I was in Coal Creek Armory, in Knoxville, this afternoon and they have a M-44. I looked hard, but I didn't see any gold on it. No silver either. Just blue steel and orange wood. It didn't do any fancy tricks. As a matter of fact, it didn't even move. Looked kind of boring. I tried hard to figure why it was $330, for about a minute and then I moved on.
  5. Removed to another area where the comment was more pertinent.

    Good Day!

    That's funny!
  7. Did the leaf thing last weekend. Went to the show today. So far the neighbors leaves are staying in their yard. Hope it stays that way! And we know you were joking about the gun stuff.
  8. The Tennessee Kentucky Post Game Show of course!
  9. Ok, blowing leaves or going to the gun show... blowing leaves or going to the gun show... I don't get it! That's a no brainer! A Bad Gun Show is better than blowing leaves any day of the week!
  10. Most of the tables were full. SKS's were running $250 and up. Saw AKs for less than $500. Cheapest AR I saw was $700 for a lite model (the ones with no sites). There was a table that had Mosin 91/30's for $129. Pistol wise, I saw nothing of interest. Sold what I came to sell and went home with nothing, but money.
  11. Saw AK's under $500 at the Show here in Knoxville today. SKS's were anywhere from $250 up to $400. Almost bought an AK74 with two of the bakelite mags and 400 rounds of ammo for $600. Just didn't know if that was a good deal or not. I don't know a lot about AK74s.
  12. This thread is worthless without pictures! Wish I could, but I will be working tomorrow, even though it's a holiday for my company. We got a bad deadline to make next week. Congrats on your purchase though! The SKS is a great rifle!
  13. It's an Enfield No. 2 Mk 1. The bobbed hammer tells me it's a tanker model. They bobbed the hammers so they wouldn't get snagged inside of the tank. It was the main British combat pistol during WWII and remained in service until the early 60's. I haven't a clue what it's worth. I found some on Gunbroker.com though. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=147726301 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=147957810 http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=148101919 There were probably more, but that was all I cared to look at. Yours looks to be in a bit better shape than these and the cheapest one was $290. I find Gunbroker.com to be a little high on most things though. Congrats on a cool pistol that might have some cool history behind it!
  14. Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, rolls cranberry sauce and gravy. We had sweet potato pie and lemon pie for dessert.
  15. And Mike's slapping you on the beHIND!
  16. Once you hit 45 the brain is the first thing to go. I'm waiting on the lower parts to go now. Reckon then I'll have to start taking the little blue pill. Fortunately, that's not happened yet. The brain is shot though!
  17. The only time I had a FTF in my Glock, it was my fault. I was shooting reloads and apparently forgot to put some powder in one. Unfortunately the primer wasn't strong enough to push the bullet out the barrel. It hung about 3 inches in. We had to take a long screw driver and hammer it out. I was pretty embarrassed. It was shooting in an IPSC match at the time.
  18. Truat! It's funny how all my favorite guns are his designs. I had a Hi-Power that I loved until it got stolen in a burglary. I also have an Auto 5 12 gauge that is a fantastic shotgun. Bit heavy to carry for any length of time, but it's a shooter!!!
  19. JMB designed it that way. He was one smart cookie!
  20. I've found that 1911s tend to be a little tight out of the box. They need to be broke in. Once they are broke in though, they run fine. However my plastic has always ran flawlessly. Still there is just something about a 1911... Once you go there, it's hard to turn away!
  21. Hey, plastic is good too! I have one of those as well. It's the only pistol I've never traded. I gave it to my wife, so that wouldn't happen. Still get the benefits though. It goes to the range from time to time.
  22. I love 1911s! I have an older Springfield Operator in SS. Great shooting pistol!
  23. So that's the one! How does it shoot?
  24. Well you got one of them any way! The reason I asked was I posted about one of those Systemas over at Randy's Guns a couple of months ago. Which reminds me. I need to go another round to all the gun shops and see what new old items are on the shelves. Man, I'm getting the hankering for a new to me firearm bad!
  25. Those are good JustAGuy! Me just some white wine tonight. Nothing special.
