    HK416 Clones

Ah, my bad... I think they had named it that at some point.

    HK416 Clones

It's a complete clone of HK's GP found on the 416. It's said to have 100% parts interchangeability with the HK. HK's domestic 416s (the MR223), will have proprietary lowers and bolts, unlike their Mil/LE older brothers. You can slap one of these on your existing lower, and be good to go. Not so w/ HK's civvy imports.
  7. This fit your fancy, Nancy?

    HK416 Clones

Yeah, the 10.5 is what really has my attention. I'm curious as to this companies history, if it has any. In this biz, new companies are popping up all the time, and more often than not under a new name to attempt to escape their reputation from past productions... I hope this isn't one of THOSE companies. Here's all three uppers they'll be releasing: -16.5 inch Barrel Upper -14.5 inch Barrel Upper -10.5 inch Short Barrel Upper
  10. I hope to god you're not in the left lane when this happens...

    HK416 Clones

Looks like we've got some domestic HK416 clones coming this way from Titan Defense. I've personally never heard of this company, but I'm anxious to see both the pricing, and some hands on reviews for these things.
  12. Man, I get the opposite. In mid spring or early summer mine usually kick up. It's a once a year thing. $%#! pollen.
  13. +1 Using the phrase "Do not pass go, do not collect $200" to reiterate a point.

    5.45x39 AR Upper

Good catch, I didn't know that was corrosive ammo. Cool, sounds like they anticipated the use of corrosive ammo when designing it, eh? Good to know the extra steps in cleaning aren't too bad. How many rounds would you guess you've ran through yours? Would you say it's been generally trouble free?
  15. Yeah, I'm wanting to get back into BJJ as well. A good friend of mine rolls down at Evo, and I've heard nothing but good about the place. The only downside is they don't offer striking, it's strictly BJJ. On the plus side, the Assistant Instructor, Polo Lopez, is also a CrossFit trainer When I was training at Nashville MMA, Tim Vandersek was the Muay Thai guy. He was from the Netherlands, and ended up being sent home on an expired visa.
  16. It's JDM and has a fart muffler though, so he's good to go for cruising the strip
  17. I plan on being able to make the next one, and I'd be willing to throw down for some pizzas ahead of time.
  18. I bet my girlfriends little brother would buy all of these shirts... they'd look great with his tac'd out SKS w/ NcStar red dot/laser combo... That would be his SKS that he used to call an "SK", but since that name was entirely too long, it has recently become his "K"... :sigh: the kids of today...
  19. I'd still eat at her buffet.

    5.45x39 AR Upper

Awesome, thanks for the info. Sounds like a worthwhile investment. With those kind of ammo prices, I'd imagine I would get a lot more range time in on my AR, and that's the ultimate goal. I'll probably take you up on that offer

  22. I trained there back in 03/04. The gym has grown a lot since. I sparred w/ Hammonds a few times, he's a great guy and definitely knows his stuff. When I was training there, Luiz Palharez (6th Degree black belt under Rickson Gracie) was the head instructor for BJJ, and he was an absolute beast. They have the best facility in Nashville, hands down. All that said, I don't necessarily like the way Ed Clay runs the business side. He requires signed contracts to train, which is generally frowned upon in the martial arts community (it's looked at as a McDojo kind of thing). Ed's done time in jail for selling ecstasy, and a year or two ago he was doing "Real Estate King" seminars at hotels around the US. Not to say people can't change, but just know that cash is his number one priority. If it's BJJ you're wanting, check out Evoloution Jui-Jitsu . Sure, their website isn't as flashy, and their facility isn't as nice, but they are the real deal. Palhares does seminars there a few times a year. Armbar MMA in Mt Juliet might be worth checking out, but I know absolutely nothing about them. I do know at one time they had an instructor who was very experienced in Sambo (hardcore russian grappling, good stuff), but don't know if he's still there, or if Sambo is still a part of their MMA program.
  23. I was cutting my grass with the same gas for almost 2 years, no stabilizer, no problems. Can't say my car or motorcycle would have been as accepting of my aged gasoline, and I don't see much of a need to cut my grass in a SHTF situation...
  24. I've been toying w/ the idea of picking up a 5.45x39 AR upper (or even S&W's MP15R)... With ammo savings, it would probably pay for it self over time. Any thoughts on the cartridge, or it's performance on the AR platform? I'm assuming 5.56 mage will work, right?
