Remington and Bushmaster are both owned by Cerebus Capital Management, L.P., and from what I hear, Remington will be marketing to the LE/Mil side of the market, and Bushmaster to the civilian market.

Haven't gotten my mitts on them yet, but from what I've read, they are entirely suitable as BACK UP sights. So if you're running some decent optics, they are a durable and afforable option.

Looks like Remington is donating 1, possibly 2, ACRs (that will both be equipped with AAC cans) to the Wounded Warrior Project raffle this year. I'll readily admit I'm no expert on the Taliban, but I would venture to say that a large majority of their younger recruits are drawn in not by fierce allegiance to jihad, but by a lack of options (lousy wages and long hours scraping poppies for opium operations or life eating dirt sandwiches in refuge camps), as illustrated in the book. I doubt that has changed, but maybe I'm wrong.
