Someday I gotta' check the rules on this....

Sounds like the ammo was likely the problem. The gun could cause it, but I doubt it. I have had a few problems with the Remington green box stuff in the P3AT and other handguns. I have relegated it to the "practice only" ammo pile.

Now that is neato. Be sure to tell him that we are all proud of him.

My guess is that you need a few more posts or a little more time here.

That may push the round to the left and maybe downward. I'd start on the pad of the finger and then modify it if doesn't work for you.

poll on WBIR.com about carry on campus go vote!

Wow. Up to 471 to 221 (our side winning). Probably mostly goes to show why web polls don't mean much. -
Yeah, it kinda' depends. The ball of the finger is generally preferred because it will probably not pull the gun left or right when you fire. But for some handguns, especially in DA mode, you may have to be more inventive. Really, you need to practice while thinking about what you are doing and the results. What works best for you is the correct answer.

That looks very nice. Ed Strange's wife is a well known tattoo artist at Acid Works Studio in Mount Morris, MI: http://www.acidworkstattoos.com/gallery/index.htm Looks like her X-rated stuff is offline right now. Ed owns Wicked Grips, which primarily makes grips for 1911s. I don't have any tatts, but have learned enough from Ed to know what to look for if I decide to get one. You look for good artwork and prices high enough for the artist to not be using cheap or watered down pigments.

I don't mind going to dangerous places, but I refuse to go there if I can't protect myself. At least in Memphis, I can legally carry a gun. Think I'm going to a place for vacation that refuses to let me protect myself?

If it is a weapon mentioned in 39-17-1302. Prohibited weapons. — (a) A person commits an offense who intentionally or knowingly possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs or sells: (1) An explosive or an explosive weapon; (2) A device principally designed, made or adapted for delivering or shooting an explosive weapon; (3) A machine gun; (4) A short-barrel rifle or shotgun; (5) A firearm silencer; (6) Hoax device; (7) A switchblade knife or knuckles; or (8) Any other implement for infliction of serious bodily injury or death that has no common lawful purpose.

What Tim said. I wonder if they never took them down, or if they are going back up?

I must respectfully disagree with that assessment. I think he might become (again?) an important lobbyist and promoter for the cause, but I see no evidence that he is one at this point. The TFA has a website that they can build if they choose to do so. I would be hesitant to link TGO with that group, or any other group.

It used to be that emails didn't get much notice, but politicians have gotten smarter. Like a telephone call, they can pretty easily filter out messages that are not from constituents. US senators and Reps strongly recommend you use email instead of letters, since physical letters have to be considered contaminated and dangerous since 9-11. Our representatives have learned to ignote constituent emai lat their own risk. They will generally hear about it when they get back home. But successful pro-legislation campaigns generally require either big bucks from special interest lobbyists or lots of publicity to get the public to lobby directly. Again, the VCDL is good at that. We have no such group in Tennessee.

I'd say Rabbi will be back by tomorrow.

I heard Jim Holcomb on radio the other day. He's a local boy and I've known him for years. He was talking about the carry permit stuff. He talked about the fight for the permit laws and how it took continued hammering away at the subject to het the public involved and the legislation passed. He mentioned the NRA's part in that. Somehow Harris and the TFA didn't come up. The Harold Stockburger story has been told here at http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/showthread.php?p=76743&highlight=Harold+Stockburger#post76743 I think for some of us, it comes down to "hat have you done for us - lately."

Glocks are subject to limpwristing too. I once saw a constable doing that with a new G23. I pointed that out to him and the next range session he wasn't having the problem.

It was infuriating waiting for the coupons. I think they space out the mailings to prevent the coupons running out in 90 days from a run on the supply of converter boxes. This way the retailers have a chance to restock. Before the converter box, I got NBC, CBS, and ABC just fine. At least ABC is fine when our local affiliate can keep its transmitter working. Asheville was, and is, a backup for ABC. The PBS channels I can pick up are in North Carolina and Virginia. Depending on weather conditions, they could be excellent to unwatchable. FOX was either from North Carolina (always fuzzy to unwatchable) or local but with frequent multipath problems. This converter box has solved all of these problems. Occasionally, the signal strength is too weak to pick up the Virginia PBS channels (there are now three of them), but the North Carolina PBS (five channels now) is pretty reliable. I'm putting in an A-B switch for those times I might be having a problem with the weak digital signal, so I can easily switch back to analog if something is on that I can't get on digital (one FOX station that doesn't do digital - yet) and I'm willing to put up with an always pretty snowy picture. BTW, I use http://www.zap2it.com/ for my listings. To get it to list the North Carolina stations, as well as the TN and VA ones, I have to lie to it and tell it I'm in Asheville. I just played around until I found a location that would list all of the stations I can receive.

I'd strongly suggest FMJs. You have a relatively slow and ligh bullet mass round. You really need penetration. That's not a slam of the 380 Auto. I carry one myself.

I've always said the reason I haven't tried cocaine is because I know I would like it too much.

That may not make him an upstanding citizen, but it doesn't disqualify his analysis in this matter.

Yeah, but the price will go down and the quality will get better the longer I wait. I know I'll give in, get a HDTV and satellite service sometime. But for now, I'm enjoying being cheap.
