Shitttt, lol my daily go to carry is a Keltec P32, but my wifes is a S&W 38+P revolver that kicks harder then any handgun I own personally lol, and she handles it just fine scoring a 99% on her carry permit test with it. With her it came down to grip size versus hand size. A revolver suited her just perfect due to her short fingers having issues getting to the safety's on a auto. People think small hands need a small gun. No they just need a better set of grips. When we went hunting for hers I brought everything I had and gave her free rain in the gun rentals area for others and only helped her decision to rule out one when i seen a problem. She chose on her own what she wanted after I helped rule out large autos due to the safety's being to far away. She can run that hand cannon like she's had it for years. Don't tell her this but I like shooting my big autos more since they don't mule kick like hers lol.

Only thing we got is Dunham's, the ammo and guns tend to be about 10% higher than everyone else but I get 20% off coupons all the time. The LGS I like to use now is Frontier but they seem to hate mil surps which I'm a huge fan of and they are too far a drive for casual looks and unfortunately I'm a sucker for low cost impulse gun buys which is not them. The shop in Maddisonville is the carry badge place so that's last on the list lol. I've been in fonsworth twice with cash in hand and they ignored me no matter how much I asked for help. I hear good things about them but if they profile me out then I don't need what they have. There's a little shop in Sweetwater but he's well under stocked and surprised he's still around. I felt sorry for him two months ago when I stopped in but there was nothing for me. He's been my Keltec dealer for years.

And the saga continues lol. Academy was stripped bare, not a short barrel shotgun to be found and the long barrel selection was pitiful. The guy behind the counter was actually ashamed of the poor in stock. Made the errr "mistake" of going into Gander to look, yha won't do that again. Maybe walmart still has the Stevens tomorrow and maybe they actually want to sell it this time. Either way going to check Dunham's first.

Well what a fun night, was in walmart in Athens and on the shelf was a savage in the configuration exactly how I wanted it. No shelf tag so from 8:20pm - 9:09pm they hunted and found the price was $199, so i told them ring me up I'll take it. The answer I got was sorry we stop selling at 9pm. Behind the counter in the display was a sign that says gun sells are 7 days a week 8am-10pm with a picture of the eastern United States highlighted, annnnnnnd here comes the face palm moment. They told me it's 9pm due to nashville being a hour behind us! So now I'm reminded why I quit buying guns at walmart 20 years ago.

I lived in little mexico (Lenoir city) for twenty years, I'm in monore county now.

Academy is a hour drive from me but that one does look spot on for what I want.

Very fun and very scary at the same time.

I was thinking pump since auto loaders may be affected by recoil reducing stocks. With a pump I could take care of feeding manually and it wouldn't be a issue. So would a 20 mossberg pump be a good choice with a knoxx stock added? Should be under budget from what little I've looked. This will be a play gun with no real world use other than to watch things go boom or try out skeet again. I've got plenty of other kinds for other reasons I just see others having fun and want to join in.

After almost a decade of hardly able to shoot or hunt other than some every now and then to keep familiar with my carry guns, due to going to war with thyroid cancer and all its after effects. I got back into shooting for fun last year when the wife got real interested over the past year wanting to get her carry permit. So I've been upgrading some of my guns and getting newer ones like my AR's and a Mosin to play with. But after having a 410 years ago i enjoyed and seeing everyone enjoy fun gunning with the larger ones like 12 and 20 I want to move up. I have a bunch of 12 and 20 and 410 ammo from my grandfather's estate and a couple real old single shot 12 and 20 I can't shoot that I intend to pass down to my son someday. But I want something more modern. Budget $400 prefer a pump Real issue is that due to the before mentioned medical problem, my parathyroids were destroyed which resulted in long term muscle and bone damage till it was controlled due to extreme low blood calcuim levels. Due to that I bruise and bone fracture like a 65 year old and I'm only 40. Enough of my whining boo hoo hoo lol. Due to that backwards recoil is the issue, on my AR's and AK's it's a non issue due to its recoil systems. And my Mosin with bare stock bruised me nice after about 20 rounds but I could handle it. What's the advice in the room? Buy a 410 or sell or give away the 410 shells I have and move up for more fun? Is there something I can do to lower the recoil on a modern 20 or 12 pump to enjoy the move heavy loads. My hands tho hurt from arthritis can handle the shock if that helps it's just my upper body and shoulders that have issue but I did handle the Mosin if that's a usable example.

Went into the local sporting store (actual gun shop is 30 miles away) and every time I've been in there I've chatted up a guy at the counter that loves old Mosin rifles and helped me pick one out a few weeks ago. Yesterday afternoon on a whim I walked in and picked up a box of 380 and 9mm hollow points for my carry guns and was looking at the 50 round boxes of match grade 22 and told the wife I just won't buy expensive 22 for plinking no matter how low I was. The guy got done with someone else and walked up and asked if I was looking for some 22 and I answered yes. He said hold on and went into the back and out came a case, and handed me two Remington 525 boxes for $21. This is a place that doesn't put out ammo except in the mornings the day after it arrived. I felt like Charlie with the golden ticket in the Willie Wonka movie lol. Now to tell the buddy to buy his damn rifle since I've got ammo covered for awhile lol. And we even got the wife's prints and DMV paperwork done yesterday so it was a good day out.

Suddenly it hit me; best way to improve our image!

So your testing the waters on coming out of the closet and want to see responses? -
I noticed the same thing at the LC walmart, they only cared about 22 and cheap 9mm. They passed on everything else. Maybe the bubble is about to burst.

Sir i salute you, please share how to do it since I've got one on facebook I'm ripping apart for it that I would gladly turn in.

Both my P95 and my dad's P94 loved to have a little grease on the rail till they got broken in. Both run like a champ.

You would actually be surprised how common that is, some people are electirlcly charged different. Me myself get frustrated around cellophane it sticks to me like glue. My wife can kill cellphones after a week if not in a rubber case and shocks me if she wears anything with wool.

I'll probably end up buying the rifle since i make alot more and letting him use it on permanent loan since he'd feel bad and always want to pay me back for it if I just gave it to him, just to keep that thrill alive. Between him and my son they went through nearly $400 in ammo that day but they will never know that. It was worth it for my son to enjoy it and for me to break through someone's fears and watch them enjoy it. His fear dropped considerably after he seen i was right there and quick to jump in if something seemed off. I didn't yell like his uncle and dad did to him about it way back then, I calmly would show him how and calmly correct him as needed. Reactivate targets helped too lol

He's been my best friend for almost 25 years now. Ive always enjoyed guns and shooting but he never did due to a miss fire accident when he was eight that scared him. I've asked time and time over the years and got turned down. Finally a couple weeks ago when I bought my Mosin he perked up and I could see the thrill in his eyes since he's a WW2 buff. So i took him and my son out that weekend and I started him out with my AR that's a 22LR and went over all the safety with him, and he loved every minute of it. I got him to shoot everything I brought including the kick like a mule Mosin. The next day we went to a gun shop and he was eyeballing the Henry rifles and was excited to find out they had 22LR versions since he loved the fun but not the kick. Heck even a forty year old needs baby steps sometimes. Then he decided to go and buy a box of ammo for it with me at walmart before he bought the rifle when it came in. As my post in the walmart ammo thread states, it didn't turn out well. He seen the greed and disdain it's became. And tonight he called and told me he's decided against it if it's gotta be that way to get ammo.

She got nervous and missed the first TN shots then the instructor told her to calm down and slow down then she kept it all in the 7 ring after that even at the farthest range. Scored a 81% She's actually pissed about the target since she did a 99% last week practicing lol. Missed five on the written due go the word disallowed in the true or false. She kept reading it as allowed.

Trust me it's a no finger situation lol, I just like being able to look from multiple angles without holding the charging handle.
But if you are cleaning it, you should just pull the bolt out, instead of just holding it back.
Old habit, I like to lock them back and take a good look at internals and physically look for a round in the chamber and not just trust that the extractor did it's job before I break a rifle down to clean it. And holding it against the spring while checking is risking slam fire if you let go. I had a extractor fail once on on a sks on last round and didn't know it had a round in till I went to clean, thankfully it was a fired one.

I've been a SKS and AK person for a very long time and picked up a Bushmaster Carbon 15 a couple months ago, I love the rifle but before I start cleaning it after shooting it today again, how do I manually hold the bolt open on it for a quick inspection without using a empty mag? I'm sure there has to be a better way I'm just missing it.
