  1. I have had a scope mount like this for years and want to go with a standard Weaver rail to mount a red dot I have since it doesn't fit in the rings where the 2x scope is. Does anyone have a opinion on a good one that doesn't cost a fortune?
  2. I own a bushmaster carbon that came just like that and proudly own it even if it is pink just because it's different. I nicknamed mine Dirty Girl And before you laugh, my nine year old daughter loves it when we have some father daughter shooting time with it.
  3. Why would you have to turn around in a low rider truck? Seems like it would work about like a cow plow on an old train lol I'd be worried about one getting caught underneath and then I'd have to stop and clean it up lol. Ask me sometime how bad a empty half gallon milk jug smells after a 1/4 mile or so being dragged underneath after I realized you can't center up on stuff in the road with that truck lol.
  4. It depends, if I'm in the low rider truck id have to turn around, but if I'm in my jacked up K5 then I might just see how dedicated to their cause they are. LOL
  5. WarZ was a money grabbing knock off of DayZ which is about as wild of a game as you can get. There is no comparison of the two, DayZ has a map that is larger then most all of the BF3 maps put together. You can run for a solid hour to hit from one side to the other. It has true weather fronts and conditions. You can even navigate by the stars at night. It's what a true survival and a zombie situation would be, zombies are a issue and people are a bigger issue. I've had people shoot me on sight to take my gear or friend up with me just to shoot me in the back. And I've had people leech off my supplies or get me killed because they couldn't sneak into places properly. And I've had some to help me out for no reason but to be nice. You learn quick to avoid towns unless needed and to plan your attacks quietly and swiftly while stating out of sight. Gun shots are like food bells to the zombies so quiet attacks with my favorite the hatchet is best.
  6. I consider myself a extreme novice for mill work but if your getting frustrated your going way too fast. Take a chill pill, turn on some music and let the bit do it's work slowly. No need to rush it just go really slow. The old man that taught me put it that you need to imagine that there is nitroglycerin 2 mils deep below the surface and you only want to see it but not touch it or it goes boom. If you have to question if your actually taking any metal off on the cut then your probably doing it at the right speed was the other thing he said. Slow and steady wins the mill race.
  7. I know its been awhile but my current shooting area is almost a hour from my house so I have to plan for it far in advance. Shot the Savage and honestly as long as I stay away from the 3" mag slugs I feel I'll be perfectly ok with it. The factory pad on it helped alot and the pistol grip helped me to hold it firm to my shoulder and keep the muzzle from flipping back on me. It felt more of a hard push with the #8 and the 00 Buck but hit a little too hard on the joint with the 3" mag slugs. There's a little soreness in my joints from the three slugs but the rest left nothing. Best shotgun I've ever shot so far, after getting used to it i was able to use #8 to hit small target like a spray can lid at 30 feet or more with the bead site setup. I do wish it had a ghost ring style tho. The action was butter smooth after the second shot or so but I probably won't ever shoot magnum loads in it again since it actually opened the action slightly after each round until I force shucked it and held it forward on the grip.
  8. I picked up one on a whim cheap awhile back basically new in the box with everything. Took it out shooting the first time yesterday and the corner of the dove tail below the slide would nail the rear joint of my thumb extremely hard every time. I tried to change my grip all four times and would have the same result. I handed it to my son and he had a shock to his eyes the first round and said it hurt to shoot. Three more rounds later he was done with it and we put it away. Unless I'm missing something this one may be up for trade soon if I can't enjoy it even though I bought just because it's a Keltec pre-design.
  9. Wow truly out like a light. I guess the sideways aiming just didn't work out that night. Seems he wasn't doing the gang banger shooting technique properly, i seen a lack of the whole push out the bullet with your arm by pumping it forward out the barrel technique there.
  10. For $32.99 and a few moments of your time filling out a online form you YES YOU sir can be a legal doctor of divinity. If you base your religious life on the interpretation of the Bible by another person without at least reading it and thinking about it with free thinking then you would do fine in a cult. If some of you knew what I know about the inner workings of the modern church you would praise your chosen diety without the use of a church out on your own. If you need your religion to function in life due to fear of living life without some sort of guidance or help then I am all for it and support it. But to say that another person's interpretation is the only true gospel and picking out only the parts of the text you want to support and throwing away the others is just not right. Either take it all or nothing, and by all I mean the entire book from taking slaves to beating your children and wife to not allowing her to speak in the church as a few examples.
  11. Bersea series 95 when they had just come out, bought it at the now gone Sports Unlimited in Knoxville. Shot it most recently about four weeks ago, still not my most favorite shooter because of the very short single action mode trigger but a good gun. In my life I've sold one gun which I don't regret since it came from a person with a domestic assault on his record and shouldn't have had it and there was no telling what its history was. He brought it to me to ten years ago to try and settle up a $1000 debt lol, I knew I'd never see the cash so I took it. Was a little chrome Jennings 25, never even shot it was a little scared to with its condition, sold it to someone for $50 a week later. Had three stolen, everything else I still own.
  12. Couldn't say it better myself. As a atheist and very straight male I have to disagree with a lot I have read in this thread. If the church as a business does not wish them to be welcome due to their actions is their business just like a companies choice not to allow HCP holders in. If a person decides to live their life as a church goer or as a gay person or even a boy scout concerns me in no way as long as it does not effect me by them trying to push their beliefs and lifestyle onto mine. Saying that, I am deeply saddened to see the true self of some of the people on here spitting their extremely hateful words towards people they do not even know based upon teachings of a religion. Kinda sounds to me like the same as the slander towards Islam claiming they teach hate towards others that don't believe the same as you. I wish I never read this thread and am glad I am not going back and blocking the people that spewed open hate because even if I don't agree with them I still believe you should be allowed your opinion just like I've spoken mine here. I was a cub scout and then a boy scout many moons ago but was not allowed on camping trips for my last year and then thrown out due to me refusing to take the swimming test for the next badge. I was informed if i didn't want to earn new badges and rank higher then I wasn't allowed to participate. I drowned dead as a door nail when i was very young and due to that have a extreme phobia towards water. I don't hold it against the boy scouts as a group due to bad local leadership and enjoyed my time.
  13. Trying to un bubba my SKS a little, it has one with a scope mount on it currently but I want to use the iron sites on it.
  14. Here's a good forum thread with pictures that should help you   http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/70275-fan-speed-switch-not-working.html
  15. My Carbon is marked 5.56 on the lower and the barrel. I haven't ran 5.56 through it yet since it hasn't came up in my ammo rotation but I'm not afraid of it since it's rated for it. So go for it
  16. Oh trust me if i was ordering it i would have had absolutely no issue with giving it out. But I had completed the sale at that time including all forms of background and sales items being taken care of more then 15 minutes before she asked while i was waiting on the box from the back and this was a print out of the computerized 4473 form that she was writing it on. It struck me as odd to ask for it then and when i asked for a reason why all I got in return the first time is "i just need your number" to which I responded why and got no reason again and since I did not get a fitting answer she did not get a fitting correct number. Then of course the whole it must be in the box before it can leave the store bit. I was being extremely nice till they decided not to listen to me and try to take it apart wrongly and ignored me the first time when I told them to stop then I got a bit more forceful with my request while reminding them it was not their property anymore and they stopped. And to add strangeness to the whole matter which after further thought makes me never ever buy another gun there is that my wife was sitting on a bench right at the counter and decided to stay there while they walked me out with it to lock in our van and then meet back up with her to finish our shopping. The person wrote a alphanumeric number on my receipt and said it was in case I needed to call the ATF and then while I was gone the woman behind the counter told my wife quote "ok its all good now his background check went through" at that point I was already outside with it and it had been over 45 minutes since her call to the number. I really do not understand what went on there and it scares me a bit about ever buying another one at that store.
  17. When my wife did it they told her to register before taking the class and that's when she got the number. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
  18. When it's working right lol (my scanners internal battery is bad so it clears itself if there's a power failure) it takes me a day or so sometimes to notice it to fix it. I've had two scanners burn up do to being on nonstop for months on end and I'm on my last one so bare with me. But the Sweetwater / Monore county feed is me and if anyone here uses it and enjoys it your welcome.
  19. Savage stevens 12 pump, it had the pistol grip and the stock with the recoil reducing pad already in it.
  20. Sounds like egg bound to me also. With two out of six doing it id make sure your giving them enough calcium.
  21. Got done with all the paperwork and the sell and she asked for a phone number. I asked what for and she said to put it on the form. Informed her that it wasn't on the last 30 or so 4473 forms I've filled out. I finally made one up and she wrote it across the top. Then she went to put it in the box and it wouldn't fit, then her and the guy there decided they needed to break it down to fit in the box but neither knew how (I did) and started trying to take the stock off and I told them to stop and leave it be or start the return process because at that point even though it hadn't left the store it was paid for and a valid background check and 4473 filled out on it and I didn't want someone without knowledge of it taking it apart.
  22. Sorry about your ordeal but you did just answer a question for me. I was in the Athens Walmart on Saturday and noticed that they had the Savage/Stevens just like the one I bought at Academy in their case. I don't recall having seen one of them at any Walmart, before and I thought to myself, "I wonder if I could have gotten it cheaper here." The answer is nope - sounds like Walmart's price was $10 more than what I paid at Academy. I do wish you had been able to get it - having just bought one, myself I would have liked to have read your impressions of it. I hear you on not buying firearms at Walmart, though. My mom bought her .410 pump at the Lenoir City Walmart and it took over an hour of just standing there, waiting for them to get the paperwork done, locate the box and get a manager to walk us out of the store with the gun. Academy was at least a little better - another guy was buying a shotgun when I was buying mine and they got me out in about half an hour or so. Academy's setup was kind of weird, though. They don't have registers at the gun counter (at least at the Knoxville location) so I had to walk up front and pre-pay for the background check, bring the receipt back to the gun counter, fill out the paperwork, wait for the check and then go back up front to pay for the shotgun. For 'good buying experience', nothing beats my LGS and that is the reason I prefer to make most of my gun purchases there. I just saw the Savage on the Academy website and couldn't pass up the price. Picked up the Savage at Walmart for $199. And some 223 ammo, hopefully get to try out the shotgun this weekend. If its too hard on me I guess I can hand it down to my son, he'd love that lol. They asked for a phone number and wrote it on top of the 4473 and wouldn't tell me why so i gave them my throw away google voice number.
