Sweet! Congrats on the DW!
-
If you do get it....NEVER NEVER NEVER sell it! I really regret selling mine but needs be..it was done. Excellent shooter, well balanced, changable barrel lengths, very tight lock up at the cylinder front. I have the Simply Rugged holster for it still...hoping to score another one. The DW is a tough cookie that needs no pampering and will serve you well in the field...mine did...took several Florida hogs with it, one shot (158gr bullets). The down side is finding parts and accessories for it. They are not as common as S&W but they can be had. The folks at Dan Wesson forum...http://www.danwessonforum.com/ are a great help....kinda like TGO except that is is single minded. Good luck!

Anyone know any WWII, Korea, Vietnam or other Veterans?
ArmyBrat61 replied to a topic in General Chat
My Dad is a Korea and Vietnam vet.....he won't talk about it....I have tried through the years to find out what he did during his service....he always changes the subject so I respect his wishes and have stopped asking. -
OK....got it........ thanks gents....

My brother in law has taken up an interest in reloading (about time) and asked me a question I am having problems answering. Question is "What is the difference between copper plated bullets and copper coated bullets?" I thought it was that plated bullets have the lead exposed at the bottom and CC are completely covered? After over thinking and looking at various package descriptions...I'm really not sure anymore....help!

Bullet hits solid metal surface

I have always loved watching that video..... -
You would have to wake up first, then worry about the covers. My German Shepard is my alarm and acts as a buffer to give me time to become aware of my surrounding then act accordingly. Last winter, a tree branch broke off and hit our back deck during the wee hours and my dog alerted (read scared the crap out of me) to the situation. I have various defensive/alert rings around my dwelling....gives me time to react. My advise is to plan accordingly to what your percieved threat would be....helps you sleep better too..... just my :2cents:

Questions about 9mm load data...... discrepancy
ArmyBrat61 replied to ArmyBrat61's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Thanks MusicMan....that's what I was needing....all that is in my missing notebook....where are you finding Zip? -
I just started reloading 9mm, after a 2 year hiatus, and cannot find my notebook anywhere. I have always used Ramshot ZIP as my powder and went to their website and printed out the load data. I use a Lee Turret Press and usually start out dipping the powder into cases in a loading tray using the supplied Lee dipper (.5cc) The question/problem I am having is the load data and the dipper grain weight are coming up vastly different. The Ramshot data for ZIP shows a starting grain weight of 3.2 (lead round nose 124gr) and a max of 3.7 while the Lee .5cc dipper weighs out at 6.1 according to the slide scale....actual dipping from the container I use is between 5.6 and 5.9 consistently. The powder fills the casing to where the bullet sits after final seating/crimp so there is no excess space. I am not sure how to proceed from this point. I cannot remember my receipe, I have shot several hundred rounds of 9mm with ZIP and 124gr but do not remember the grain weight used and cannot find my notes anywhere. What would be the best move to procede? Contact Ramshot? Contact Lee? Once I use up the ZIP I will be looking for a more available powder. Thanks for any help and input.

You are not a dupe....you are Army.....you sound alot like my old man, E6 and damn proud of it. No hand out but a hand up to those that are genuine and repentant. "You made your bed now lay in it, then fix it up behind you....your mess, your consequences......" I remember him helping alot of his soldiers....but those that lied or shafted him....a two war SFC can really f*&k your life over when you get on his bad side. I am glad you heard them out. Good on you. :usa:
