Cops can carry concealed into bars and ABC licensed premises in TN when they're off duty under HR 218, they just have to have their departmental photo ID on them. They can also ignore posted private property signs. I think they're restricted from carrying on airplanes, federal property, and courthouses when they're not on duty, but that's about it that comes to mind. That law gave sworn LEO's and retired LEO's nationwide concealed carry rights as long as they met a set of criteria in that legislation and had the proper ID with them IIRC.

Try Fulton Armory for an M1C/D grade barrel. Or possibly Miltech Arms.

I've got an S&W 642 I carry. 5 CorBon DPX .38 Specials in the cylinder, and a full speed-loader in a belt pouch.

This just reminds me of why I will not enter Memphis specifically, and Shelby County generally, under any circumstances unless I am armed.

Macho... It's not politically correct to call them pimps anymore. Now they are "Escort Service Managers"
-
You forgot that they are "enlightened" and we're just "ignorant"
-
Actually, the M1 Garand is not on that list. The M1 Carbine is. Which makes just about as much sense as banning the Garand in my opinion.
-
Clips are what you use to feed an M1 Garand, or a military bolt action rifle that uses stripper clips. You may also find stripper clips for other military rifles because it's the best way to feed large amounts of ammo into an "evil" high capacity magazine. When the ignorant reporters speak of clips however, they are speaking of magazines. The Brady Bunch is where they get their information, and the Brady Bunch doesn't know the difference anyway.

Baseball bats cost more than some guns now? I'm in the wrong business apparently. The last baseball bat I bought was $15, 10 years ago.

I've always assumed that the section above indicated must-inform. And in the carry class, they told us we had to inform at traffic stops. It was even in that old video they show up that the state made when shall issue was first adopted.

If I get pulled over, I roll down the window and wait with both hands on the wheel till they get there. When they're done asking for license, registration, and proof of insurance, I reply with: "OK, but first, the law says I have to inform you that have a Tennessee Handgun Permit, and am armed. For my own safety, my hands will be near my gun while I get my wallet out." Being up front about being armed and being cooperative generally helps start the process off on the right foot. I've only had one officer who wanted to put my weapon in his car while he conducted the stop, and that isn't something I really mind. We don't have enough cops, and if they want to take a precaution about it, that's OK with me. I also had one state trooper who asked me to step out of the car and walk over to the passenger side of his cruiser with him while he ran my license and permit so that his ass wouldn't get run over on I-81 southbound. He didn't take my weapon, he just told me that he wouldn't draw his if I didn't draw mine. The other times I've been stopped, they've just wanted to know where the weapon is, and that's the end of the discussion after they find out my permit is valid. @ SSSTactical Go to Virginia, drive the speed limit on I-81 between Roanoke and Radford. Trust me, they'll find you and think you're a Virginian who somehow managed to get a car without the silly county inspection sticker, and the front license plate.

The sheer stupidity of some people never ceases to amaze me.

If it walks like a duck...

Sounds like limp wristing to me, I've never been able to force myself to limp wrist a gun... Too many years of gripping a pistol properly and all...
-
You mean stovepiping? Where the empty case sticks straight out of the chamber at an angle? Someone wiser than me will have to answer, my only experience with stovepipes is with a .22LR using standard velocity ammo and a limp wristed sorority girl I was trying to teach to shoot with earmuffs on because I could pretend I didn't hear her incessant jabbering about how badly the gun was kicking.

Article: Nugent: Gun-free zones are recipe for disaster
SkWaShDeM replied to TGO David's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I saw a poll on the internet about Thompson's cancer, 80% of the the people surveyed said that they would still vote for him despite the cancer. If only he'd run. -
I was going to say the same thing. Sounds fishy to me. Then again, I don't like the % charges for a simple transfer out of what seems like mere spite.

Polishing the feed ramp is a good idea for any semi-auto, it was worth every penny to have it done to my XD, even though it was pretty smooth to begin with. Don't mess with the Greenbacks. But don't forget my other piece, the almighty Form 4473 since he's in North Carolina and we'd have to get all technical about it.

The Colt's was the internal ejector bar that flung the casings out of the chamber at a 70 or so degree angle. Don't really know about the ejector on the Llama to be honest.
-
The Llama is to Colt like Mercury is to Lincoln... After the Lincoln has been on Pimp My Ride. My old Colt Mustang had no issues whatsoever feeding any ammo I put through it, but I've heard of some other Mustangs that refused to cycle some ammo reliably, same for the Llama and Astra clones. So if the Llama's jamming, it's probably either dirty or just doesn't like the ammo you're feeding it. Basically, it has all the same flaws that a GI 1911 .45ACP does, but the weapon is just half the size and chambered in .380 instead. Think of it as a half sized Series 70 1911 set on wimpy stun. If your girlfriend/spouse/significant other likes 1911's, but thinks they're too big and heavy, let her have a go with the Llama, you probably will never get to shoot it again without her permission, but I still haven't found a problem with females who like to shoot guns yet...

There's two of them, I'm sure we can come to an equitable agreement about them. And just remember, if you ever say you don't want them... I'll be there... waiting... armed with some greenbacks and a 4473 form. (=

House vote permits guns in more places
SkWaShDeM replied to Marswolf's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Maybe I should consider running for State House in District 6 next year... That might be a fun way to pass the time. Whoever suggested term limits hit the nail on the head. Every elected official should be subject to them. 12 year limits for both houses, including sitting members at both state and national levels would be just dandy. -
It's a fairly decent copy of the Colt Mustang from what I've heard. It will just need some TLC to turn it into a more reliable shooter than it is when stock. My one great regret in my time of buying and selling handguns was letting a nearly new Colt Mustang go, but I didn't shoot it that much, and it was too pretty to let sit in my car's filthy glove. $150 is a damn good deal. I'll second what Phantom said, if you want to get the money back out of them, I'd probably be interested. It'd make a great gun to leave in my car.
