  1. It's a good thing 4 and 5 D-Cell Mag-Lights aren't considered impact weapons. (=
  2. At least it's not a Mosin M-44 shooting 7.62x54R Heavy Ball when you're wearing a thin t-shirt because it's July and 110 degrees outside in the middle of Texas...
  3. Because that wouldn't look as good in the media. That would involve letting guns back into the hands of the people, rather than "taking guns off the streets and away from criminals" or some other feel good political drivel.
  4. After a quick look at a couple online gun dealers, $550 OTD seems to be a fair price for a Ruger M-77. I personally prefer the Remington 700 series.
  5. I go to Wal-Mart at 0430 or so because there will be maybe 10 other customers there, and the shelves have just been restocked. I don't fit into my age category either, but mostly because I can think of better places to pick up women than the checkout line at Wal-Mart.
  6. Mount the XD gear holster under your truck/car's dash and you've got a decent enough car holster.
  7. As far as I know, the wording in the statute applies directly to bouncers or armed security guards employed by the bar directly, or through a security company contracted by the bar to provide armed security. And to be employed as an armed guard in TN, IIRC anyway, you have to have the proper certifications and training.
  8. Yeah, the L85A1 was the buggy, problem ridden, and unreliable Enfield version. H&K did wonders getting into it's current mostly serviceable condition with the L85A2. I've said for years that the British should have stuck with their L1A1's or bought G36's.
  9. I'm still trying to figure out why the L85A1 is even on the list. A cousin of mine is in the Royal Army and he says the only thing worse than the L85 is the FAMAS, but only on weekends and odd Tuesday afternoons.
  10. A conservative is a liberal who's been arrested. A liberal is a conservative who's rights have been violated. That the one you're looking for? Or something along those lines?
  11. For accessories, there is only one that you need for the M44: a recoil pad, either the one you wear on your shoulder, or one that slips onto the stock. Especially if you're going to be shooting heavy ball ammo. The accessory pack from CTD is nice too.
  12. Playing devils advocate, at least the manager was polite about his request not to carry in the store again. He could have been a **** and called the local PD to escort you off the property or something similarly insulting.
  13. I've done the unopened soda can thing. But only from at least 50 yards away to stay out of shrapnel range.
  14. It might be helpful to know what her definition of long range shooting is. Personally, long range shooting starts between 500 and 600 yards... And if you want absolute maximum range shooting, get a Barrett M99 chambered in .416 Barrett. Yummy.
  15. Somebody makes a shorter length of pull solid stock for the AR-15, I think it's an inch shorter. Or you could try and pick up an M16A1 stock set, I think they were shorter than the standard stock we have now.
  16. $60-100 for a still in the cosmoline, often times arsenal refinished Mosin in whichever of the three popular flavors strikes your fancy is cheap. I really should go buy a 91/30 one of these days if I can find one that's mostly decomso'd.
  17. You forgot the silver dollar sized chunk of bread that you can get with that meal for an extra $3.75. (=
  18. The French Empire sent us troops because the French King hated England so much. Those Frenchies won a couple of wars here and there, granted, we're talking about nearly 1200 years of European conflicts to wade through to find their few victories. Even Google has trouble with this. Once upon a time, if you searched for "French Military Victories" you were asked if you really meant to search for "French Military Defeats" instead. The French Republic is the militarially challenged set of arrogant cowards that we've bailed out three times in the last century. This version of France has never won a war. They only lose them. Usually because they help start them, or outright start them. (Napoleonic Wars, Franco-Prussian War, etc) And if they don't start focusing on fixing their own domestic problems, we'll probably have to bail them out a fourth time too.
  19. They also need to correct the arrow saying that France is our friend. It should say: "Arrogant Cowards" instead. (=
  20. Is that for loaded ammo or just the bullets?
  21. Talking to a wall is more productive than using logic and cold-hard facts in an argument with the anti-gun types. $5 per 50 for WWB 124gr FMJ is a nice deal though... Too bad the local Wal-Mart has never stocked it to my knowledge.
  22. They might be waiting for the Attorney General to send them an opinion on it. That could take a while if the AG's office is backed up on requests and what not. I don't know though, I usually get a response from my state congresscritters within 2 business days.
  23. Well, you're welcome to come try on anything from my collection of leather and kydex and see if anything feels right.
  24. I never got any trouble about the loaded 870 Express I used to keep in my trunk...

    1-in-7 barrel

62gr FMJ ammo should be about $0.50-$1.50 more per box than the 55gr stuff. If memory serves, 62gr is fine for for the faster twist barrels like yours. So it should stay relatively cheap. Short of loading your own, or maybe ordering from Black Hills in bulk, I don't know of any convenient way to get relatively inexpensive 70gr+ ammo for a .223/5.56.
