  1. As long as it's not Vitamin T, it's reasonably safe... In moderation...
  2. Edwards always has been a really lousy attorney. No wonder he went into malpractice law... That idea is nothing more than a propaganda response to Hillary's tax raising, money wasting, military destroying health care plan... I don't even think Edwards can legally do that anyway. Universal Health Care is a very unfortunate, but inevitable event that will probably happen in the next 10 years. Do I like this? No. I think Universal Health Care is a waste of money and that it has a severely negative impact on the level of care people receive. Are the politicians and left-wing nutjobs going to listen to me? Nope. They see votes coming from giving people "free" health care. They see that as a way to raise taxes without getting voted out of office for it. The motto of Universal Health Care is: "Take a number and have a seat in the waiting room, we'll call you up in about six to ten weeks." There's a reason a lot of Canadians who live near the US border come down here for their health care, even if they do have to pay out of pocket for it.
  3. Should we lynch him? Or should we burn him at the stake just to make sure his soul will be redeemed for such heresy?
  4. The scope on the 710's from the factory is a Bushnell Sharpshooter 3-9x40. Remington replaced the M710 with the M770 this year. It's supposed to be based on the M700 action and what not, and from what I've seen and heard, a pretty good economy priced rifle. I've shot a .270 M710 before. It's not a bad rifle. Especially for the price. That particular one shot a 2.5" group at 150 yards. Which is good enough for deer hunting. The main difference between the 770 and 710 that I can see is the extra 1-1.5lbs of weight on the 770. For $250, I'd buy it and put up with Wal-Mart's crazy firearms purchasing procedures. Consider your arm twisted.
  5. That's awesome. I hope Joe doesn't sell them unless the customer's from communist territory... It's heretical to have one of those when you can own the real version for less money.
  6. Don't let the politically correct journalists see a football game at my old high school... The sight of a dozen cheerleaders in mini-skirts waving the Stars & Bars when the Rebels take the field might scare them all the way back to Yankee territory.
  7. I predict a significant increase in revolver sales inside the People's Democratic Republic of California. This just gives even more material for "California Approved" gun jokes. It's the only place on earth I've ever seen these: http://www.bushmaster.com/catalog_carbon15_AZC-C15RM4FT.asp
  8. It just uses GLOCK mags. Which, at least in the 9mm version, makes sense. Lots of them available already, relatively cheap, in lots of different capacities from Brady Capacity 10 round to Glock Factory 33 round magazines for the G18.
  9. Probably because whenever McAfee updates something besides the virus definition files, you always need to reboot your computer. Otherwise weird things start happening.
  10. Because there are lots of people who want to set their .45ACP's on stun?
  11. Lousy shot indeed. With an Uzi at that distance, you should at least be able to hit center mass more than... twice.
  12. He doesn't really have much in stock usually. Actually... he usually has less than twenty pieces in stock. He'll order you anything you want from Davidson's though. I think the majority of his business is from the basic gunsmith type stuff he does. He likes to talk your ear off, but that's about all I know about the place.
  13. That website has been up for two or three years now I think. It's still funny to me. I tend to give it to anti-gun types who I think could benefit from a sudden dose of reality.
  14. I'm in college still, and I'm going to refrain from commenting on this topic as much as I can. I will have trouble refraining from getting downright insulting towards a few of my former professors over the years...
  15. His application was made in 2004. His arrest was in 2007. Surprisingly, when whoever did the redactions on the FOIA copy of his application, they redacted his statement of necessity for carrying a concealed weapon, but left the full serial numbers of all of his pistols visible. Anyone else find that strangely amusing?
  16. Once you go Ray-Vin, you'll never be even remotely satisfied with a lesser product again. What're you using for a spotting scope?
  17. Coyotes fall under small game hunting. Small Game Hunting Shotguns and handguns using ammunition loaded with Number 4 or smaller shot are legal for all small game hunting. Shotguns using ammunition loaded with T (0.20 inch diameter) or smaller shot are legal for hunting coyotes and beaver except during big game seasons. Shotguns loaded with nontoxic shot approved by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are legal for hunting waterfowl. Rifles and handguns using rim-fire ammunition and air rifles are legal for hunting small game except migratory birds. Rifles and handguns using center-fire ammunition are legal for hunting beaver, bobcat, coyotes, feral hogs, fox, groundhogs, and crows, except during deer, bear, or boar seasons. Muzzleloading firearms (rifles, handguns, shotguns). Longbows, compound bows, crossbows and other bows drawn or held by a mechanical device. Falcons and Falconry subject to TCA Section 70-4-414. Gigs and angling equipment are also legal for taking bullfrogs. Weapons may be equipped with sighting devices except those devices utilizing an artificial light capable of locating wildlife. Night vision scopes are illegal. From the TWRA website. However, there's a rider on this in the Illegal Weapons section: Rifles or handguns loaded with center-fire ammunition are prohibited during all deer, bear, or boar seasons for hunting any wildlife except deer, bear, or boar. Coyotes, crows, groundhogs, beaver, feral hogs, foxes, and bobcats may be taken by big game hunters while hunting big game with any legal big game weapon or ammunition.
  18. Define "almost give away" for me? (=
  19. If it smells like a sheep, follows it's fellow sheep around with blind faith, and runs away at the first sign of the big bad wolf in the middle of the sheep pen... It's probably a sheep.
  20. Colt must be thrilled. The media called the officer's patrol rifle a Colt Commando AR-15. Here I thought Colt insisted that the Armalite AR-15 was just an imitation knock-off. Ja-ja.
  21. I was making a joke about needing a certificate of training to carry one around if it was considered an impact weapon.
  22. I like the Sig Mosquito. It's just picky on what ammo/recoil spring combination it will cycle reliably with.
