  1. Oh really? I hope they didnt want the power cables or the hard drive. I sent just the console, nothing more.
  2. ah geeeezsh..... Just trying to have some fun. You cant tell me that you never driven past one of those Asplundg tree trimming operations and thought, "wonder what I can throw into THAT thing, .....TVs, furniture, small animals, old tires, anything made of glass, frozen turkeys??? The list is endless. Thats a tool that would make Tim "the toolman" Taylor grunt like crazy.
  3. It's JUST metal. What are you drooling over???
  4. Maybe we can located the individual or individuals, take that $500 reward, and rent a wood chipper..... Or we can notify law enforcement.
  5. I can neither confirm nor deny that.
  6. Buying local is cheaper unless you plan on making a bulk purchase. Last time I looked (Reloaders Bench), I saw a 1lb container of powder (AA 2230) for $18-19 and 8lbs for $133.
  7. 5 cents a round? I hope they don't want to collect "back taxes". I might owe a few bucks.
  8. You should be able to find some cheap equipment on Ebay and www.reloadersauction.com. The problem you will run into is getting the reloading materials. Primers are becoming scarce. Bullets and powder are still available, but supplies are drying up. This Obama fear is not subsiding.
  9. I took the simple route....boxed it up and UPS'd it back to Microsoft this morning. It would have been nice to have it fixed locally or do it myself, but my job is demanding alot of me lately.Atleast when MS fixes it, it will be done right. Atleast I hope it will be.
  10. Gotta love that mini gun in the opening air assault. I do miss those days.... You had the choice of 2000 or 4000 rounds per minute.
  11. Links are nice for us lazy folk. NewsChannel 5.com - Nashville, Tennessee - - Home
  12. I don't have the time to dedicate to getting this repaired locally with work be so crazy. I have opted to just send the thing back to Microsoft and be done with it. Its out of the warranty, so it doesnt matter that I cracked open the console. Hopefully my son will be rocking some guitar hero within 2 weeks.
  13. Predator- when Jesse "the-body" mows down the jungle with his minigun. Pulp Fiction- The "Royal with cheese" scene. "Say what again, I dare ya!" No Country for Old Men- anytime he uses that d@mn shotgun.
  14. No red ring when it powers up. It lights up normally with the green segments. On another note, I found a plastic "foreign object" lodged in the DVD drive when I took it apart. I can thank 2 year old for inserting this object. I am assuming it burned up one of the optical drive motors.
  15. Any and all help is appreciated. I want to keep the repair costs as low as possible. I just watched a video where I could buy the exact replacement drive and simply install my DVD drive chip board and it should run. Now this video was produced by some kid in the vicinity of 16-18 years old, based on the cracking voice. Now I'm not sure if this knowledge is very reliable.
  16. I learned quick when I watched a few Youtube videos and did a few google searches. Hell, I didn't know where to start. All the smart sounding stuff was found on the web. I didn't know any of it before I started tinkering.
  17. My sons XBOX has died. It does not read any disks:CDs, DVDs, or games. I was able to disassemble it and test the drive. It makes a nice grinding sound when a it attempts to read a disk. SOunds like the lasar drive motor has seen its last day. I have found a replacement drive online, but it requires a "flashing". I am assuming that means loading firmware to the drive? Does anyone have a SATA cable(s) and the knowledge to do this? I know its a long shot, but I know one of you might have the resources or a techie friend that might be able to assist.
  18. I made a trip to the range even though the weather was less than ideal. It was 60 degrees and light rain. Not very good weather for shooting, but I saw atleast 15+ large turkeys out and about and they seemed to like it. Rightwinger- you would have been going crazy. Today, I was testing my loads for 180grain bullets. I used 6.0gr, 6.5gr, and 7.0gr. I used AA#5 powder. All rounds were shot from a prone supported position. The 8" targets were placed at 25yards. These rounds were shot out of a Sig 229 with a 3.8" barrel. All rounds were much more predictable than my 165grain bullets. These rounds were not effected as much with a change in powder charge. I had some trouble today, possibly the weather, with sighting in the targets. At 25yds, an 8" target is basically totally covered with my sights. In any event, I was pleasantly surprised with all the loads. Each load was consistant and grouped relatively well, even with my target being obscured. Future tests will be done with a larger target Disregard the zero target on the upper right. I was sighting in my SBR again due to my Aimpoint mount coming loose.
  19. What are you saying?!?!? I'm doing and taking the advice YOU originally gave me. Anyway, I would still like to knock around some ideas just to make sure my thinking isn't too crazy. I basically load 2 different rounds, each with their own simple load. I'm not one for experimenting. Once I find something that works I stick with it. This happens to be my first weekend home in a long time. What do you think about sometime this week, in the evening?
