  1. My grandparents are democrats, have been for many years. Even they, though, refuse to vote for.. as my grandma put it... "The black Stalin." I love my grandparents, what is left of them.
  2. Currently rocking a beard atm. It's weird though, my hair is brown, but my beard is red. Anyway, no beard thread is complete without Chris Costa and his beard! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Costa-His-Beard/114567738603722
  3. I'm speaking in general, sir. Obviously a three year old is a bit young. I guess I'm jaded by parents I talk to day in and day out who insist that their teenage or other completely reasonably aged child be kept in the dark on gun safety and proper handling/respect of a firearm.
  4. I prefer, "Educate and instill common sense into your kids on guns." Worked for me and my siblings, anyway.
  5. Dunno, it just seems similiar to me. I havent read the last 4 pages of this thread, so not sure if he's said what his real motivation was. Well, motivation other than being crazy, that is.
  6. I tend to believe that hardship is just as apart of life as prosperity, and you cannot have one without the other. Come what may, we will see this through and come out stronger in the end. I do not subscribe to any teotwawki kind of thing, as dwelling on that too much can make a person crazy. Take things one day at a time, come what may, it is all part of God's plan, and a cycle of life, imo.
  7. I would not be surprised if this is someone like Anders Behring Breivik. Who just wanted to do this out of his own twisted ideology. A copycat, maybe, even.
  8. For all the crap they get, I really cant complain with Comcast. Been with them for .. 9 years now?
  9. Maybe he should run eventually. What could it hurt really?
  10. Probably the best one in a long while.
  11. Yeah I walked right into that one, didnt I? I'll be sure to post up a review of how it handles, once I learn the grill!
  12. Ended up with a Jamison Mediterean mattress from B F Meyers in Goodlettsville. Great folks to deal with, got a great deal on the bed. I'd recommend the mattress and B F Meyers to anyone! EDIT: They had Jamison and Temperpedic mattresses side by side. I tried both, the temperpedic's seems really hard.
  13. Academy sells pellets? That's good to know, I thought I'd have to mail order them.
  14. Besides the fact that most folks do not know what a good hamburger should taste like. The vast majority of people with a grill of either side shouldnt be allowed to do either.
  15. To each his own, it's hard for me to explain, but there is a tremendous taste difference to me between burgers cooked on gas vs charcoal.
  16. From what I've read the older American made Traegers were bullet-proof. Once they started Chinese manufacturing they've had a whole host of problems, namely the igniter going bad on the first day of use and not being able to maintain a temperature very well. That's at least what made me go searching for something else, otherwise I was going to buy the Texas model Traeger.
  17. Has to be food-grade pellets. Well, I guess it doesnt HAVE to be, but non-food grade pellets are generally made with recycled material and could have things like varnish, paint, that kind of stuff in them. Not very good eats. Ended up with the Yoder. Supposed to be here end of the week! I cannot wait!
  18. About three years ago I borrowed a pellet grill from a buddy - it was a Green Mountain Grill pellet grill. It was awesome. I cooked some steaks and burgers that were simply... well.. quite amazingly delicious. I didnt have to fool with charcoal, and I've never messed with a gas grill due to it making rather sub-par burgers. The steaks were perhaps the best I've ever put in my mouth, and my already amazing burgers (if I do say so myself) were about on the same level as on my Weber grill but oh so more convienent. Fast forward to now, I'm about to pull the trigger on my own pellet grill. Back then there was only about two to three manufacturers of pellet grills - Green Mountain, Traeger, and I think MAK grills. Now there is about ten of them. My question for the BBQ experts of TGO, does anyone have experience with pellet grills? Green Mountain I have lost my source for, and cannot order one online that I know of. I was going to buy a Traeger, but from my research they have in the last year or two outsourced their production to China, and the quality took a major hit so I'm not so much looking at them anymore. Currently looking at either a MAK 1 Star grill or a Yoder YS480 model. Both of these are American made, and have rave reviews. Memphis Grill also has one that is in the same price range as the other two, but I cant help but think it's a handicapped version of their normal grill which is nigh $2k - which is more than I want to spend. I figure I'm overanalyzing and would probably be just as happy with any of them, which is why I'm posting this. Anyone have one of this type of grill? http://www.yodersmokers.com/images/YoderPellets_Summer2011.pdf is the specs on the Yoder. http://www.makgrills.com/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=41&=SID#MOREINFO is the MAK
  19. Man, if I had a nickel for the amount of people I've showed Beretta's to that said, "I heard someone can pull the slide off that pistol in no time if you pull it on someone in defense!" I would be a rich man. Usually the, "OK, show me how." method works best.
