  1. Yah, I caught that, misplaced digits, edited while you were posting I guess.
  2. Maybe you mean of corona positive tested people or something? We'll never know the true fatality rate of infected people overall, unless every person in the US is specific antibody tested AFTER this strain is eradicated. Failing that, it's going to be a constant statistical best guess based on whatever model you like best, just like the yearly influenza "stats" but with even much less real data. The only thing pretty certain right now is the actual death rate per the entire US population period, which right now is about 8 per million. Newest "best practices we're likely to achieve" scenario opined by Fauci and echoed by Frump today is 100,000 (or more) dead in US. Which would be more like 300 per million. - OS
  3. Yeah, Fauci should know better than to tell the truth. Trump's litany of ignorant opining, misleading disinformation, political and press attacks, and outright lies over the last two weeks (too many to mention) have reached a new low, as they now directly affect the odds of mass death in my country. But of course I understand it's still mostly Obama's fault. - OS
  4. I don't think this link mentioned yet in thread? TN state stats, updated daily at 2PM: https://www.tn.gov/health/cedep/ncov.html - OS
  5. The Beretta 92FS/M9 .22lr is also "Made in Germany by Umarex". So far, absolutely stellar firearm. - OS Zamak, to be pedantic and all.
  6. ?? October edition? Mine has article by Wayne in same place as usual, still listed as Executive Vice President. - OS
  7. Vandy has beaten the Voles 5 out of the the last 7 years, and now three years in a row. It has become a true rivalry again. Unlike our more Big Time rivals, like Bama and Florida, who don't really much see us as such anymore. How can they with Tide winnng 13 out of last 14 meets with now 12 in a row and Gators 14 out of last 15? - OS
  8. You never know who might be next. What if UPS and FedEx decided they wouldn't ship guns or ammo anymore? THAT would be a game changer for sure. Could enough popular and political pressure be exerted to make that happen the next time the Dems get the triumvirate? There's already a taste of that, in that neither will knowingly ship firearms between non-licensed folks. Indeed, for some time now, there is actually no legal way to ship a handgun between unlicensed individual people period, even though doing such intrastate is legal federally. - OS
  9. Knoxville, like all other TN cities, cannot enact any gun laws beyond discharge of firearms, location/existence of shooting ranges, and carry by employees/contractors. (edit: all three are already prohibited) - OS
  10. I've started sending all the beg letters back to them with "not another dime until LaPierre is gone" written on them. One today is another of the "notice of shutdown - critical update" ploys. - OS
  11. It's already legal, no need for an additional local law. Just requires no local ordinance or official policy against it. - OS
  12. More than their entire starting lineup (13) got drafted into the Bigs too, wow. Several pitchers I guess. - OS
  13. He was "placed on administrative leave" 7 days ago. By Le Pew, the Board, or what? Scuttlebutt seems that he was also trying to out Le Pew behind the scenes. He might turn out to be the good guy in all this mess, who knows. - OS
  14. And along with that, adios to Dana Loesch, their only pulchritudinous spokesperson/lobbyist. - OS
  15. No "doubling". If further out than renewal window, duplicate license charge applies (8 clams for D/M, 12 for CDL). Logically, it would affect about the same number of folks no matter when it were initiated. - OS
  16. Btw, no requirement to ever destroy them, only that they are kept for 20 years. Since it's extra work to cull them, have read that few dealers ever zap any. And only requirement to ever send in any 4473s a dealer has is if they go out of biz. - OS
  17. Yep, any full service DMV. https://www.tn.gov/content/tn/safety/driver-services/locations/dllocationserv.html - OS
  18. You can go to any full service DMV in the state, btw. I go over to the one in Maryville for example, much shorter wait time well worth the drive over from Knox. - OS
  19. Not far off I guess. A mighty ZTE z222. With 2 in reserve. Only went with it because they dropped 2G network so my mighty original RAZR wouldn't work on it. - OS
  20. Why not? You mean, because they need a warrant or something, which I doubt? Don't most all phones show list of calls/texts and times? Even my 10 buck flip phone does. - OS
  21. Yeah, federal but not a national park, although TVA has stated that boat ramp access areas and "unimproved property" is okay. Corps of Engineers controlled areas are I suppose still technically no carry. But you never really hear about anyone getting slammed by either authority anywhere, guess everyone conceal carries, eh? - OS
  22. Starts being issued in Tn on Monday. Has to be at a full service DMV/County Clerk office. Come Oct. 1, passport alone will still get you on a plane but not into federal facilities (except federal courts), nuke plants, military installations, whatever. Requirements: https://www.tn.gov/tnrealid/requirements.html (click on the PDF link for the exact details). - OS
  23. I'm a bit surprised there's not a well publicized boycott yet, calling for no donations until Le Pew is gone. I don't know if the whole Board voted on keeping Le Pew or just some executive part of it or what, but even though there's undoubtedly any number of good apples on it, the whole leadership is tainted now too just by association, and probably ought to be replaced. -OS
  24. Nope, legit in all parks. Allowed for "persons possessing a handgun, who are authorized to carry the handgun pursuant to § 39-17-1351, while within or on a public park, natural area, historic park, nature trail, campground, forest, greenway, waterway, or other similar public place that is owned or operated by the state, a county, a municipality, or instrumentality of the state, a county, or municipality...." (from TCA 39-17-1311) - OS
  25. Word is filtering down through even the most news-adverse parts of the membership, and I see no way the NRA is going to remain particularly influential unless LaPierre and Cox depart. Maybe some others high up also, including perhaps much of the existing BOD. I see Allen West agrees: One of the mantras of the left has for some time been "don't fear the NRA", and this whole scandal simply amplifies that. Though I've often been critical of its PR methods, I had no idea that the NRA operated like this. The fact it's in the red at all, let alone due to mismanagement and greed (and perhaps outright illegal graft), shocks even a cynic like me. If I'm any example, it will be suffering financially more than ever in short order (I'm an endowment member, and wish I could get a frigging refund). - OS
