I have to disagree with you, Mike. If you have that strong of a conviction that you will take many opportunities in the public eye to denounce something and then turn around and accept money for portraying the exact thing you denounce you are a hypocrite. I am very strong in my convictions. My beliefs run to the core. There is no amount of money that would get me to stray away from those beliefs. Sorry, I am not wired that way. I think it is reprehensible that Hollywood types will take money from the American people by making movies that go against things they believe in. Then again, I think the American people should take note of these hypocrites and refuse to go see their movies or watch their shows. Not buy products from companies that endorse them etc. That is when you will actually see them sticking up for their convictions. I used to dislike Tom Hanks for all of his posturing for a war memorial in DC until I found out he put up a bit of his own green for it. Then it was okay, now I only dislike him for his liberal views, but hey, it takes all kinds. And as far as women with guns, my wife would have a thing or two to say about that one.

Kingfish, in a previous post it was stated that these hospital buildings are considered part of the Vanderbilt Campus. There for, it is illegal to carry there.

If this is on a college campus, it is illegal to carry there according to TN Code 39-17-1309. Carrying weapons on school property. — You want to do it, fine, I think it is a dumb law. Just don't get upset if you have your weapon and your permit taken away from you.

I don't necessarily agree with a draft, however, I do FULLY support mandatory service to the country for EVERYONE at the age of 18. Most kids that are graduating from High School really have NO CLUE what they want to do in life. Sure, I want to be a doctor, a lawyer, a psychiatrist and the like. Once they get to college, that changes about 100 times. I think having a couple of years to actually earn money and figure out where you want to go in the world would be good for everyone. It doesn't have to be military, but some way to "give back" to the country that has given so much to you.

I heard this from my grandfather many many many years ago only it had a few different players, the punch line was slightly different but the gist was the same. Too bad they won't let us play.

I bought an old Harmony electric from a buddy for $40 including amplifier. Brought it home plugged it up in the garage and beat the hell out of it for about 30 minutes. The next day when I got home from school, my mother had bought me a teach yourself guitar book and taken the amplifier away. She told me until I could play something that sounded like music I wasn't getting it back. Within 6 months I had a Gibson US-2 electric and a Rockman Soloist headphone amp. Great invention that.

I used to love when the reservists and guard came to the base. A lot more women to look at. The only down side was the long lines at the chow hall. Those uniforms look okay, but the boots were what I liked. Most of the guys at basic were complaining about blisters on their feet from the boots. I had been wearing them for years and even took my own pair with me though I never got to wear them, I hide my issued boots in comfortable shape in no time.
