  1. Very nice. Do keep in mind that the black IS a finish and will wear, but the melonite treatment will not ... unless you take a really deep chunk of metal out.
  2. Now granted it's in a Peruvian prison, but murder in Peru has a maximum of 35 yrs! WOW!
  3. Haven't yet. What's the death toll on the southern boarder? What's the kidnapping total?
  4. Eh, Iran is looking for more support from real countries and Turkey is just trying to buddy up to feel more important than they are. In the end they'll back down and then cry about how bad Israel and their "bullying" tactics are. These folks are the epitome of school yard bully cowards. Reminds me of the biblical proverb: "A fools lips invite a beating."
  5. Waiting with anticipation. If it's half as good as the "spring" it'll be a great improvement.
  6. Kinda curious that all the sudden she's offensive. I've heard worse from her and others. Maybe we're finally putting our foot down on the history re-writers.
  7. While I agree in principal with Straight Shooter, I gotta remind him that kids didn't get this way on their own. The arrogance of some of the older generation to denounce and dismiss their handywork IS part of the problem. Where do you think they got the blame everyone else mentality? That being said every generation has their own issues. While I long for a return to many aspects of the 50's, there are some that were incredibly egregious. I would love to live in a Mayberry world, but that isn't the reality. Reminds me of the Andy Griffith show episode where the school principal was shocked and appalled at the dancing of the current generation (early 60's) ..... until he saw them demonstrate the flapper dances of his generation (20's). Put things in context. I will say what used to be a much smaller line between decency and indecency has now gone off the cliff. When the hooker look is considered noraml and "cute" ... there is a problem.
  8. Make these a mandatory part of the HCP class and be done with it.
  9. Guns and Leather has a holster maker that has some fine examples hanging in the shop. I believe he can make just about anything you want.
  10. There are some threads on these and IIRC the consensus was it was unnecessary for most applications. Plus the benefits of Kydex is that it is cleaner easier to maintain, only wears at the contact points, and doesn't hold moisture. When you add the leather it diminishes all the benefits of Kydex. On the other hand it magnifies the negatives of leather. I personally would get either one or the other but not a hybrid. The only benefit may be the lack of noise of a pure kydex. Another problem is that the leather interior will actually wear a lot more becasue it is in constant contact with all points of the firearm as it rides as well as when it draws. I could see a use for it, but it would be a very small niche. The only "hybrids" I care for are the Comp-Tac and the Hoffner's hybrid Warrior holsters. The Hoffner's are very nice. 11. There is absolutely nothing wrong with our boarders or illegal immigration now is there.
  12. She strikes me as the kinda woman who would follow you the rest of your life ...and not in a good way.
  13. How is the weight on them? I know they are full size knives, but some carry better than others. My Gerber Covert is over 4 oz. but carries pretty light. It rides low on the clip, which makes a difference. Are the Recon's better in a holster on the belt or in the pocket?
  14. and here I thought all this time that 1911 guys only got along with other 1911 guys. My expectations and allusions have now been shattered:D
  15. I've been looking at these, but I haven't seen anyone with first hand experience. You need to get one and let us know how it goes!
  16. I've got a tanto and spear point coming Wednesday as well! I couldn't pass up $30 for a Recon 1, even if it is the older design. I'm gonna keep one and jtluttrel' s going to slpit the other with me .... unless I decide to keep both!

That's a shame about the lever. My only grip with the FNP's were the flimsy feeling levers. I had high hopes taking cues from the well received FNP45 would have fixed that. Not that i ever read any problems with either lever design, but the cheap feeling bent metal levers of the FNP just weren't confidence inspiring. I still want to handle one a bit before I decide against it.
  18. I guess you'd be in favor of the Russian Spatnaz escorting Mexican illegals across our border as well, huh?

    NRA...WTF??

Great reasons to not support the only effective means of making our voices heard on 2A. No wonder we have a hard time holding the ground we've made.
  20. Mine just expired. Got it in 2000 to travel overseas.

I had one and loved it. Only reason I sold it was I was not fond of the DA/SA platform. Even though the trigger was the nicest I had shot in DA/SA. However, I do have a hankering for the new FNX9. I was going to get the USG version, but I much prefer the safety lever design of the FNX line.
  22. Just goes to show you nothing is original. The details may change but people do not.
  23. I would say yes an no. Yes it is a federal ID card in the fact that it is recognized as a Federal identification, but it is maintained and overseen by the state. Since the state controls it 100% it is not what you would technically call a federal ID.

If I'm not mistaken C&L adds pressure to the safety when it is engaged and holds it much more firmly.
