Same as in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Tanzania. They closed off hunting until they started realizing their herds were becoming more problematic than they were growing. Guess what! They needed hunting to help control and balance the ecosystem. It is good that they are managing their hunts now instead of turning people loose. It is also a HUGE boon to their economies.

I just got a H&R Pardner Pump, which is a clone of the 870, for under $200 from Dicks. It is every bit as good as the 870 (minus finish). BTW Remington, H&R, Hawk are all owned by the same parent company.

I'm pretty sure the M&P I had read in the manual to not dry fire. Some were even coming from the factory with snap caps.

Never heard anything specifically bad or good about Classic. I am very hesitant about a $599 milled reciever AK. They are usually a whole lot more than that. Personally I like a stamped receiver better on an AK. The milled is extra heavy, prone to breakage, and parts fitment is a little more difficult. The VZ is excellent but keep in mind parts are just now coming in and may be limited in the rare event you need spares and AK mags will not work. Other than that they are top line, technically not AK variants. It's an entirely different system internally.

I've been to Kenya and my brother has been to SA, Kenya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, etc quite a bit. I/we always went through London and used Air Emirates through Dubai into Africa. Flying Air Emirates coach is like flying any American airliners first class for half the price. Very nice. If you go to Kenya/Tanzania there are a number of lodges on the edges of the Masa Mari that can be had dirt cheap if you know who to ask. Try to go through your hotel in Nairobi for connection. Just be careful and stay with a group. DO NOT go to Mombasa.

I've had several of each and I keep coming back to the AK. I'm also no long range MOA type shooter. The AK is significantly less expensive in every aspect, more reliable, and a heck of a lot of fun. It's like the girl next door. The AR is more like a high maintenance woman that constantly demands top of the line accessories and gets a lot of "headaches".

Seems I have used that argument before! If you look at the underside of the receiver where the trigger comes out you will notice either one or two "slots" at the front corners of the trigger hole. If there is one (most semi AK's) it will have one thus single hook. If there are two then you will need a double hook. IIRC the double hook is mainly for fully AK's although some semi's have double hooks.

I understand. My feelings are that no one has ever been even charged with a 922r issue much less arrested, because it (by the ATF's own admission) is unenforceable. It has more to do with satisfying import issues than personal ownership. That being said it is fairly easy to make them complaint and not worry about it.

On a side note, there is hardly anyway to know where parts came from on an AK as very little is stamped.

I though it was the other way around. I generally carry OWB like other have said with it covered. That being said I have 3 carry types I use. Mostly is OWB but I also use IWB, mostly in the summer for deep concelament, and I also have a Maxpedition Fat Boy for those other times when on body is not the best scenario. I will say I much prefer on the body for numerous reasons.

I've used a Dremmel on Saiga conversions and polishing feed ramps on Hi-Powers, but I wouldn't use them for routing cleaning. Kinda like using a flame thrower to start a camp fire. It's really cool until you realize not only did you start the camp fire but also burned down half the forest.
