  1. OP, for your $450 price point, this is really the best thing going:   http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=209301   Yeah, it's a polymer framed gun.  Yeah, it's striker-fired.  Yeah, there's no decocker.   It's also the best NIB gun you'll find at that price point.   Go to a range with rentals and shoot one.  They're awesome.
  2. Looks like a prequel.  Maybe not a strategic "here's what's happening worldwide" WWZ-style show, but showing how individuals are starting to react to these events surrounding them.  Interesting.   http://bloody-disgusting.com/news/3314813/meet-characters-walking-dead-spinoff-tv/   Having said that...just how long was Rick in a coma?  How far could they stretch a prequel?
  3. Ah...no rail!  Deal-breaker for certain.  I'll take it off your hands...   Seriously, though - why, oh, why did Glock mess with something that ran like a sewing machine?   Great find!   Brownells can help you with the springs, as can the other online "Glock parts and accessories stores."
  4. Buying these when my Ameriglo's start to dim...   http://redbackone.com/shop/cart.cfm?cmd=view.item&tcat=1&scat=1008&productid=158

    Glock 19

OP, but a 19.  You'll be happy that you did.   Concerning BTF, I swapped out ejectors in both my 9mm's, going from the -336 ejector to the -30274 ejector.    Granted, I had to buy complete OEM trigger housings to get them; but they were about $8 each.  End result?  No more BTF.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/225860/glock-trigger-housing-with-ejector-glock-9mm-generation-4   Didn't buy them from Midway, but you can clearly see the new number on the side of the ejector.    I gently pushed out the ejectors from the Gen4 housing, did the same with the Gen3-336 ejectors in my guns, and swapped them.  If you pop out the rear pin in the grip (the one that holds the trigger housing in place), you won't have to fully disassemble your frame to make the swap.  By doing it this way, swapping them out took about a minute or two each.   FWIW, my Glocks are H-prefix for the G17, L-prefix for the G19,
  6. Oh, that'll last for about 30 seconds...if it ever gets to market.   Shame what England's turned into.   On another topic, do you guys remember the pump action AR that someone marketed during the AWB years?  Had all the evil features, but was pump operated?   Well, couldn't find the original, but it looks like Troy is going to make one.   http://gunssavelives.net/gear/another-gun-control-state-compliant-ar-15-this-time-in-pump-action/
  7.   That's a great price.
  8. In 2011 I flew Nashville to Reagan National with a handgun in my checked bag.  Like others have stated, pistol was inside a locked Pelican case inside another bag - in my case a wheeled Pelican case that was also locked with keyed-alike standard padlocks.   Check-in at BNA:        Airline Rep: "Welcome to ____ Airlines, Sir.  How may I help you?"        Me: Hi, just checking in.  BTW, I have a firearm and ammunition that I'll be checking in as well.        Airline Rep: "No problem, sir.  Happy to help.  Please fill out this card, and there are a couple of things I need to check...   Return check-in at DCA:        Airline Rep: "Welcome to ____ Airlines, Sir. How may I help you?"        Me: Hi, just checking in. BTW, I have a firearm and ammunition that I'll be checking in as well.        Airline Rep: "No problem, sir. Happy to help. Please fill out this card, and there are a couple of things I need to check...   It was that easy.  No one asked to see my handgun, they just wanted to ensure that my ammo was separate and in a container (factory packaging was sufficient) and that the pistol box and my luggage were locked.  No easy to ID labels placed on my Pelican case at either end.  Pretty simple, really.   I did have a problem on another trip, however:   Flying out of John Wayne Airport in SoCal, I refuse to go through the body scanner, opting for the metal detector and cursory patdown instead.    I didn't think about TSA doing a swab check on my hands and bags - never had that happen and I go through airports pretty regularly, and turn down the scanner every time.   Well, I just had to use one of my small backpacks as a carry-on...the same bag, I soon remembered that I used as a range bag a couple of days prior to travel.    Guess who has two thumbs and got popped for explosive residue?  Yeah, this guy...   All ended well...but did have to go through a TSA proctological exam.     Accordingly, a word of advice: don't ever use a range bag for a carry-on bag.
  9. I was going to say the same thing.  Sounds like the Runner's Bag would be a good fit.  With this, not only could your wife carry the 1911 you mentioned, but an extra mag, keys, cell phone and quite a few other things.   I own a multicam Recon Bag (essentially a Runner's Bag with PALS/MOLLE on the front) and added the elastic stabilizing strap.  It's just about perfect.   The Hill brothers have a great company.  Buy with confidence.
  10.   That's some good info - thanks!
  11. LEO-priced S&W Shields can also be had for as little as $335.   http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?search=action&category=LEMI
  12.   A G19 is a better first handgun, carry gun, duty gun, and also can (with little effort) be a great CCW gun.  I carry a G19 year round (when I'm not carrying a G17, that is).   Shields are great, and make for a superb second gun.    Put another way - if I could only own one handgun, it would be a Glock 19.
  13. Pretty much the same as winter - Glock 19 in a Dale Fricke Archangel at 1 o'clock, spare mag at 9-ish.
  14. I'm with you guys - no G19, no J-frames?    Granted, the DC area is....ah...different.
  15.   Didn't they come only in stainless?  I think Ranger Arms made them for Walther...wow - just found this:   http://www.nramuseum.org/media/364040/Oct%2096.pdf
  16. I had one in the late 80's - worked just fine, and was pretty accurate.  Unfortunately, sold it a couple of years later.   IIRC, it was made in Alabama under license from Walther??  Maybe I'm wrong...
  17. These are going on my G17 and G19.  My Ameriglos are about done, I think.   http://redbackone.com/shop/cart.cfm?cmd=view.item&tcat=1&scat=1008&productid=158
  18.   Like someone else stated...if you think Glock mags are high, you ought to try HK...
  19. Here's just an idea (and the next rifle I'm buying):   http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=MID-750-LWC   Throw on an optic (like a Micro T-1 or a 1-5 variable), lightweight rail, weaponlight and the stock of your choice...
  20. Two friends of mine use ankle rigs:    - One carries a G23 in an Alessi holster - yep, a G23.     - The other carries a G27 in a Renegade Cozy Partner.   I tried to like Galco's ankle holster for my G27 (back in the mid-90's); however, it wasn't very secure and I tossed it in favor of a OWB that Desantis was selling at the time.
  21. What Eray said - guess you tried a function check and the gun failed?   Here's a visual:   http://www.glockmeister.com/TriggerSpringInstallation.asp
  22.   I sold my LWRC 14.5 carbine a couple of years ago and my original SB went as part of the deal.  I'll probably get another one for my -6920.    Also, one of these is soon to be purchased.      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2A4pM1_Lt8       The small size should fit in the big pocket of the rifle bag (but I'd confirm that with the company before purchase).
  23.   That's why the SneakyBag's a much better deal.  It just doesn't look like something you'd put a gun in.  Especially if you stay away from the tactical colors.
