  1. Sorry for introducing some topic drift, but if you're planning on using your air rifle for vermin control, you might instead look at a .22 rifle with the CCI Quiet-22 Segmented Hollow Points. I was shooting chipmunks in our yard with an RWS Diana .177 and it does a fine job on them at 25 yards, but on squirrels it was not a reliable killer. I decided to try the Quiet-22s in my old Browning T-Bolt, and they strike down squirrels like lightning bolts from heaven, plus -- and I didn't expect this -- they're quieter than the RWS pellet rifle. Cheers, Whisper

  3. Two original M1 carbine magazines for sale -- one stamped with LU maker's mark (Underwood) and one with U (Union Hardware). SOLD Thanks for looking, Whisper
  4. Vintage Rock Island Arsenal full-flap holster for Colt 1911, dated 1918. (This is from the original Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois, not Rock Island Armory, the Filipino gun manufacturer.) This holster is well worn but in good shape -- leather is pliable, and there are no tears or cracks in the flap. A real find for the militaria collector or someone who wants a vintage holster to go along with an original Colt 1911. $65 plus shipping. Thanks for looking, Whisper
  5. Welcome. Lots of good info and good people here. Cheers, Whisper
  6. How much was the stock cut down (or, what's the length of pull now)? Also -- any trade interests? Thanks, Whisper
  7. Sorry, the P226 sale is pending. P220 still available. Thanks for looking, Whisper
  8. Let me know if you decide you'd like to buy. Thanks for looking, Whisper
  9. Best gun shops in Murfreesboro are On Target and the Outpost Armory, although they're in the category of new and shiny rather than old and dusty. Both places do get some interesting used guns once in a while. Cheers, Whisper
  10. Being towed by a vehicle with an internal combusion engine?
  11. That's a question that's been raised a lot. The gas tax goes to support highway construction and maintenance, and as electric cars gain more market share, gas tax funding for highways will shrink. You can bet that the government will want to find a way to replace that lost revenue....
  12. Rats, too slow. You step away from the computer for a couple of hours.... Cheers, Whisper
  13. Still available. Thanks for looking, Whisper
  14. I know what you mean. I had three kids and was tempted several times to sell off a couple of them. Now that they're grown, it's too late. Nice gun. Wish I had that kind of spare money sitting around....
  15. If you were a cop, and you knew that admitting to a negligent discharge would result in a suspension or loss of your job, wouldn't you blame that lousy gun and/or the administration that forced you to carry it?
  16. P365 for sure. Cheers, Whisper
  17. The AARP started as a marketing device for selling insurance to old people. Today it still sells insurance, but it also is a large lobbying organization that, while officially nonpartisan, spends tens of millions of dollars each year lobbying for programs espoused by the Democratic Party. And of course, more gun control is one of those programs. Cheers, Whisper
  18. As Luckyforward has already suggested, there's a vast difference between being "thought to be mentally ill in any fashion" and being "adjudicated" to have mental problems. I don't think any of us expect mental health workers to guarantee that someone will be free of any kind of disorders, but I do believe that someone who has been adjudicated mentally incompetent or committed to a mental institution should have a thorough mental evaluation before being allowed to purchase a firearm, even if such an evaluation is expensive and time-consuming.
  19. We've seen a ton of them this year on Elder Mountain (Chattanooga). There's one on the bird feeder even as I write this. Beautiful birds, but you don't see them except for a few weeks as they are passing through. Cheers, Whisper
