  1. Forgot all about mags while dumping load after load from the wet-vac. Wasnt worried about looters...was worried about all the stuff getting ruined in the basement....after that...no mag checks...but hella 4-wheeler fun!
  2. I sold my p3at and bought an LCR...no regrets.
  3. cheaper solution is to use large washers, sheet metal screws and a zip-up cheap rifle case screwed into the rear deck like his fancy rifle mount...cut off the handles though they hang down!
  4. I dont hoard ammo anymore....the ammo I have would be used for HD....i'm not going to go out hunting in the city...I have started shooting and casually replacing instead of just stockpiling, BUT, I do see the need for bartering and I personally think in an event that bartering would be necessary I would think alcohol, cigarettes, and common commodities would be better trading tools for the bartering area that I live in...I am sure there are hunters/people needing ammo but who's gonna go hunting when you gotta drive to get to the woods. we would stay put, eat out of the small garden we have and live off of our preps we have hoarded.
  5. I have one of the lower end 1911's. A Rock Island GI, It has never given me any troubles, I passed my permit class with it, I take it out on walks and I feed it everything I can purchase FMJ,JHP,Lead cast reloads. It hasnt choked...ever. It was well used when I traded for it and the blueing is awful but It's my favorite gun. It may just be broke in but it honestly hasnt given me any troubles...but I dont throw it in mud puddles either.
  6. I put a walmart red-dot with a nc-star riser...the dot co-witness's with the factory sights!
  7. wonder why he killed it if he didnt wanna eat it!
  8. Never find anything of value except ladder stands and climbers...the property is well posted and the gates and wire have had to be mended numerous times over the years...but with 500 acres I guess thats what to be expected in Wayne County. always suprised me why people actually leave things costing 100+ dollars in the woods on someone elses property. even found free tri-pod feeders!
  9. you asked where they like to live...I would say almost anywhere....where we hunt we saw a bobcat enjoying eating something ON TOP of a round haybell....upon closer inspection and hoping to jump him we found he had dug into the ground/haybell about 15 yards away was quite an impressive spread he had made!
  10. I can tell you an SKS works well also! the best way we found was to take a Doe in the morning, field dress her, go back to the house finish harvesting the meat...go back later and check the "pile" to 2 yote's and almost a bobcat this way.
  11. thanks guys! I will tell him to hit up the local surplus store...maybe he will get lucky! if not...I see them getting passed to me in the near future.
  12. My buddy got a pair of od green bullet proof panels seems to be front and back.....they supposedly were army ranger issue...what kind of carrier should he be looking for and is it legal to posess these. he picked them up at a flea market and it says it will stop 9mm/44 magnum with a 30 cal upgrade....date of manufacture is 7 of 93. this may be in the wrong section but I figured if anyone would know you guys would.
  13. I pocket a keltec 380 or a taurus 85. but always pocket carry for me.
  14. Thank you for the pic's! there just isnt enough good news coming out of shelby county latley! Bet that was an awesome day with an awesome crowd. I cant wait to take my some shooting in a few years!
  15. guys...dont chance it...remington "golden" bullets are tearing the extractors out of these guns. I personally have one and have never fired any out of it but over at: Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 there are a few people experiencing problems with them. I have successfully fired close to 4 bricks of federal with only a few minor hiccups...mainly mag-drags...thats over 2k rounds with only about 20 or fewer problems..but I wouldnt chance the remingtons.
  16. Will the frame be built from the same type of steel stock? What kind of grips will you be adding to it...with 1k+ in a slide...you should find some truely exotic wood! I am looking foreward to seing the complete handgun.

    RUGER SR-22

I'd rather have a factory 10/22 with TI mags.
  18. the despription from cheaper than dirt's website is trying to provoke people into buying their 2.3k dollar package for 2012...referencing a hollywood movie as a good source to show what it's gonna be like. BASIC-30DAY - Basic 30 Day Emergency and Survival Kit for Four People Includes Food, Heater, Radio, Water Filtration and More "Emergency and Survival Kits When an emergency hits, we don't always have enough warning to prepare for it. The movie 2012 released on November 13, describes what could potentially happen on 12/21/2012 based on the end of the Ancient Mayan calendar. Throughout history, the Mayan calendar correctly identified evolutionary events. According to the calendar we are now in the Fourth and Final age. Whether you believe or not, it still makes you think, what if all the electronics suddenly stopped working, an asteroid struck the earth, sunspots erase magnetic stored data, a flu pandemic effected millions, would you be able to survive with what you currently have. Fortunately you have time to prepare and we have taken the guess work out of it for you. The reality of 2012 seems far fetched, but are you prepared for hurricanes, earth quakes, extended power outages, a wide spread pandemic, or turmoil from the Middle East? The primary requirements are food, fuel, water, and shelter; our kits contain basic survival items. FEMA, Homeland Security, and other Emergency Response Teams look to us to fulfill their needs during emergencies. We are experts at supplying the gear you need to survive. Perfect for at home or the office, there is enough basic survival gear for a family of four for 30 days, these are good to have on hand for natural disasters or the 2012 phenomenon. Kit contains: "
  19. It took me 5 weeks, got printed at Guns and leather...for some reason I think it helped speed things up they got state of the art digital fingerprinting equipment....not speaking from much experience...but it was MY experience and i really couldnt be happier!
  20. you would think someone would make a good looking 9mm carbine. I like my Pc9 but the sub and the HP are equally ugly....even though I am wanting another 995!
  21. because you bought a pistol and a carbine to match for less than 400? like me! these were the first guns I ever bought...after not "being allowed" and not raised in a house with a hunting father...I got my first bonus check from a new job and bought the most guns I could for the money that week!
  22. "As of lately the Pit-bull has been on a leash and penned up( i have not seen him running loose since). Problem about solved." maybe they get on TnGunowners too, and realised the problem!
  23. thread looks to be derailing....throw out some moth balls they supposedly repel animals with a sense of smell, dont make it want to come your way and if the neighbors are home...I wouldnt shoot it unless extremely necessary sounds awful but claw hammer, ball bat slap stick all would stop his advances, maybe you could get one of those new style stun guns they pop really really loud when activated and it might scare him off. If theyre not home and you had to stop the threat of bodily harm then put him down and give him a nice burial before they get home tell them some thugs in a caprice with big rims were riding around and you think they stole their dog probally for pitfighting.
  24. With no "kids" in the house why does it need to be under the mattress....lay on your bed and reach under the mattress...if your weight is on the gun in a gun rug...its going to be hard to draw...if no children or animals are there why not lay it in a unzipped gun rug under the bed at the edge? easily drawn if needed and with in reach, if put towards headboard it wouldnt get in the way as not many people enter the bed at the head or even get there when making it up. if for security reasons your asking...I wouldnt...every thief knows to look under the mattress for the good stuff. maybe a cheapie BB pistol holster at walmat for 6 dollars and some stickybacked velcro would be a better option attached to the headboard or railing of the bed. I keep a shotgun by the bed and one of those walmart holsters screwed up high to the back of the bedroom door for my pistol.
