She was the first hot chick that I noticed as I was growing up. :(

This article is about BHRT; not HRT. BCBS is calling out plant-based hormone replacements that are not regulated by the FDA, nor are they near as powerful as medical grade hormone replacement. Many drugs are discovered from nature, but refined and concentrated by laboratories. This is one reason why the rain forest destruction is such a shame. Many "undiscovered" plants that could lead to better drugs destroyed so the farmers/ranchers can grow crops/cattle.

Remember when TV's had antennae with foil on them, and your dad considered you the remote? Remember when you could walk to the store without your parents worrying about your safety? Remember when mothers collectively watched over the children in the neighborhood, and they would warm your butt just as fast as your parents did if you acted up bad enough? Remember being able to open the hood of your car or truck and see the pavement in a lot of places?

The article is a retread. I guess they are trying to get it out there again and again until there's support for it.

A friend of mine got her doctorate in physical therapy a few years ago and opened a practice specifically to handle medicare patients. She had to close the practice because of Obamacare. Many folks do not realize how little Medicare pays the doctors to begin with, but Obamacare cut it even more so that she couldn't afford to keep her doors open. The mess is just now starting folks. Wait until next year.

CCW shoots at mugger in Walmart parking lot
E4 No More replied to a topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Actually, I thought they were trying to dramatize it further to the point of irresponsibility by stating that the parking lot was "packed" with people. -
Shot fired while man cleaning gun
E4 No More replied to billyscott's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
My guess is that mentioning the HCP somehow is supposed to tell the reader that the subject was found by the state to be qualified to handle a weapon, and thus cast doubt that the state is doing its job. -
I'm "nit" afraid of spiders either. :pleased:

Not that I was ever a political science major, but it is my understanding that they are not required to follow the popular vote of their state. I seem to recall some hubub back in the Clinton election about some of the electoral college doing precisely that. I also seem to recall that the reason for the electoral college was that the backwoodsmen weren't considered literate enough to make an intelligent vote. I do think that the majority of eligible voters who do not vote would lean towards the right than the left.

"I am elected by you." Wrong! He's elected by an electoral college in a system where the majority of eligible voters do not vote. “...'there doesn’t have to be a conflict' between keeping citizens safe and protecting Second Amendment rights to gun ownership." True, but you choose to make it a conflict. "Prospects for passage of similar measures by Congress appear bleak, largely because of concerns by conservative Republicans and moderate Democrats who come down more on the side of gun rights." So they acknowledge that you have rights to guns. So if you are on the side of gun rights then the opposite would be...?

Many of our customs come from defensive tactics dating back before firearms. For instance, escorting the lady who is holding onto your left arm was to leave the strong hand side free to suddenly draw your sword without her blocking your movement. Passing oncomers to your right side was so you could easily draw and defend without the risk of blocking from the attacker. It was common practice that became a custom it was so frequent. Man kills with whatever gets the job done.

My best friend works there, and he tells me about how his work ethic makes others' pale in comparison, and doesn't win him any friends. It's a shame, really.

This isn't exactly news. VA has historically sucked! Personally, I've been waiting over 2 years. VA claims are handled just like Social Security disability claims: deny them outright hoping that the claimant will drop it, and if not then they delay it as long as possible forcing the claimant to get lawyers involved. The whole system is shameful.

Army wife near Nashville shopping for my first gun
E4 No More replied to a topic in New Member Introductions
Yes, welcome indeed, and congrats on getting your HCP. I've been trying to get my wife to get one and she keeps putting it off. :( It is a good strategy to hook up with folks who will let you try their guns that you are interested in. Unfortunately, I have none of those. -
Heck, I'd be happy just to be able to carry a knife over 4" long if I wanted to let alone a auto-knife. In my home state they allowed you to carry any knife over 4" as long as it wasn't concealed. This 4" limit is stupid whether open or concealed. Death by a 3" blade is just as dead as with a 5" blade.

And I know a Canadian who lives in Nova Scotia that would LOVE to have the same gun rights that we have.
