  1. It doesn't surprise me one bit. I've seen CRTs in several government offices.
  2. I've heard doctors say it's hitting the blacks harder. They said that it might be due to a higher incidence of heart disease and diabetes in the black community.
  3. "Good witnesses" tend to end up dead witnesses.
  4. True that!
  5. Well, it certainly has civil ramifications.
  6. I am an old sheepdog. It is my nature to protect. Even with my family I'd direct them to leave via the escape route while I engaged as long as I saw it as viable.
  7. Yes, we had those guys even WITH the warning. When you're told not to move you don't F'n move!
  8. Yep, the Marine Corps was not at all shy about sticking my ass with every vaccine known to man in the 1980's. I have taken the flu vaccine every year, and have had the pneumonia vaccines. I never suffered a side-effect.
  9. Damn! That was cool! A 14,000 lbs projectile is mind-boggling. Thanks for posting.
  10. Thanks for posting that, Red333, but I should have been clearer. I was interested in how they loaded the gun that took the projectiles from the picture that showed it over twice as tall as the soldiers standing in front of it. The gun in your video was a 208 mm projectile weighing 551 lbs and carrying 61 lbs of HE. The projectile in the picture would be many times that. Your video was indeed interesting though. I was mostly in self-propelled artillery, (175mm gun in my avatar, and 8 inch howitzer which were both on the M110 chassis), and the A-gunner had to hand-crank the 18,000 lbs (IIRC) barrel into elevation position when the hydraulics went out. That was not at all fun! There was a flash of a scene of about 6 to 8 men hand-cranking the elevation on that gun so I can't imagine what they needed to hand-crank the barrel that took the huge projectile in the picture. By comparison, the 8 inch projectile that the U.S. used was 208 lbs, and the 16 inch projectiles on the battleship's guns weighed up to 2,700 lbs. The projectile in the picture is well over 16 inches in diameter.
  11. As a former artilleryman, it would be interesting to see the process of loading, arming, and firing of a rail gun. I've seen footage of them being shot, but not the entire process.
  12. People claim all sorts of BS to get money.
  13. The vaccine is not a drug, so one is not like the other. A vaccine for a virus is virus that have been deactivated so that it prompts your body's immune system to fight the virus naturally.
  14. Why people used to make jokes about the polish people.
  15. I definitely would take it.
  16. No, like identity thieves.
  17. I only go out if I must. I WFH normally so it's not a big deal other than T-Mobile cutting off my cellular router for no apparent reason. I have to work with my computer tethered to my Verizon phone.
  18. It sounds like it has the potential to make a thief's dream come true.
  19. Governor Lee is announcing mandatory stay at home now.
  20. Yes, the drawing has the pistol over his left butt-cheek. Your photo shows it further forward on the hip where it could actually be drawn.
  21. Yes, but they didn't wear them so far back on their hips that they couldn't draw it like in the picture.
  22. Ginger, or Mary Ann?
  23. I can't figure out how they think this'll square with the Labor Relations Board either. Her company, Gibson Brands, (who went through bankruptcy a couple of years ago), furloughed all of the manufacturing jobs in the US and gave them $1,000 severance. Salaried employees got the 10% reduction in salary across the board. I guess the investors figure that the salaried employees will be thankful that they still have a job and not complain. Their biggest retailer, Guitar Center, is being pushed over the edge of bankruptcy, and they account for about 65% of Gibson's sales. I'm sitting here praying that the VA will get off their butts and give me a good rating after my Compensation & Pension exam last December. If I get a good rating my wife can take a lesser position closer to where we live. It would also see us through if she gets laid off too.
  24. Those of you still working better not spend your stimulus checks right away. My wife's company has cut her salary for the next two weeks by about the same amount that she'd be getting in the stimulus check. I guess that I should be thankful that she still has a job.
  25. The abortion clinics are suing Texas over their being shut down.
