    Holsters???

I was up there today and picked up a MTAC for a 1911...1st time I've seen them in stock in Middle Tn for LEFTIES
  2. Not in Brush creek. Actually, not in Dickson or in Gallitan that I've seen. Perhaps I scare them all off with my rugged good looks or they're smart enough not to go into the woods with a bunch of guys with guns...don't know which I shoot mostly @ Brush Creek. Good group of guys. They take the time to talk the new guys through the ins and outs...make sure you don't shoot themselves or anyone else. I've been shooting IDPA for a bit over a year, not really competitive yet in my book, but usually I'm not dead last either. I had a good day last time and came in 2nd in my class...I've had bad days as well. When the timer goes off...sometimes the brain goes away as well. Get a decent OWB holster, at leat 4 mags, a mag holder and give it a shot. I've taken students out W/ me before, no real training on drawing from concealment, speed relaods, etc...and they did fine
  3. Bronker...you're going to get a PM from me as well.
  4. what friggin snow
  5. A snowflake drifted through the jet stream from Iowa and attempted to land near Smyrna. Avoid the area!!! TDOT has responded with 6 snow plows that were able to surround the flake. They hit it with flame throwers and did melt it before it struck the ground. They are now working with a Shop VAC to remove moisture before it freezes. 33,000 metric tons of salt have also been applied in the general area as a precaution. In other news....... A freak salt storm has been reported in the parking areas and sidewalks around Dell in Nashville. Walking and driving is hazardous due to the accumulation of salt which has made walkways slippery due to its round granular shape.
  6. Seal it, then use compsoite wood flooring on the walls. My wife was watching one of those DIY shows last weekend and they did that...it actually look very nice.
  7. just drink more
  8. puking rum later
  9. Yes I know that the "quiet" areas aren't. But damn...all in one day HERMITAGE, Tenn. -- Metro police are searching for a masked man with a gun accused of robbing the Mrs. Winner's on Lebanon Pike Sunday morning. Officers said the alleged robber was wearing a ski mask, a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and white shoes. He allegedly showed a silver handgun and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. But officers said at some point the robber took off the mask and was captured on store surveillance cameras leaving without it. Police said the gunman fled on foot. No one was hurt in the holdup NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A brief standoff has ended stemming from a drive-by shooting outside a Donelson Kmart. At about about 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, someone drove past the Kmart on Donelson Pike, sprayed several bullets and sped away. Police believe the gunman was targeting someone standing outside the store. The shots did not hit anyone but did damage the store's windows. According to witnesses, the store's managers rushed employees and customers to the back of the store. Someone who witnessed the events at Kmart apparently followed a car to a home three miles away on Timberway Circle. The people inside the home initially refused to come out, sparking a police standoff. Around 4:30 p.m. five people came out of the home. One of the men had a gunshot wound to the arm. Police are not yet sure how they are connected to the gunfire at Kmart but continue to investigate.
  10. Rather have it done locally if at all possible. Not to mention saving on shipping costs.
  11. I'm wanting to get SRT trigger setups in both my 220 and my 228. Sig won't ship the parts to anyone who isn't a Sig Armorer. By the time you figure shipping, it ends up being almost 200.00 for a sear and safety....50.00 in parts if you can find them in stock.
  12. Any experiance needed? Can we be armed? I can't see myself being anywhere on Rosa Parks without at least one pistol...perhaps a SBR hidden somewhere :-) insurance on the cars covered by the employer? 1099 or cash at the end of the night? No I'm not busting your chops...I need some money
  13. Sigs trigger is MUCH better. I believe the Elites have the SRT trigger which is even better Sig 220 is less bulky than a HK IF it were my money, I'd go with the Sig. Spend a bit of time handling both of them if you can and then make up your mind. If you've already had HKs...give the Sig a try, I bet you'll like it
  14. I had one of those in my area here in Donelson last year. 1am and I keep hearing a dirtbike run up and down the street. Got pissed enough to get dressed ,turn off the alarm and was going to go have a talk W/ the parents....until I saw the police car sitting in the driveway. dad was a cop...figured it wouldn't do much good at that point
  15. well..she got at least ONE our father :-)

    1911 options

If I'm carrying one of my 1911s...it's usually one of my Nighthawks or Ed Browns. I use a Springfield TRP sometimes in IDPA, or a Ed or Nighthawk or a Kimber. Find one you like, practice with it, and carry it in a proper holster you'll be fine

    .357 SIG

"In the picture above the 357 SIG did the most damage of the calibers shown " But the .45 ACP shows approx the same damage except for the very small portion at the very end of the wound track and the total pentration seems to be about the same. Still trying to decide if it's worth the extra caliber, mags, etc. Sig mags are never known to be cheap, more ammo to stockpile...I mean buy... Although...buying another gun has never really NEEDED a reason :-)

    .357 SIG

I've been researching the 357Sig as well. I've seen the pics of the gel tests, seems like it performs like the 9mm/45 ACP. From what I remember the wound cavity looked impressive, but no diffferent than a 45 ACP really. The only real advantage I can see is it seems to cut through steel like melted butter. I can't make up my mind if it's worth it to add another caliber to the stables.
  19. Two spare mags carried SOB in a Galco mag holder for whatever my primary gun is that day. carry spare mags always carry them in the same place TRAIN by relaoding from your mag holder, even if on the range.
  20. I wish to attend, but I might have to teach a class that day. Whens the next Def carbine class?
  21. If you don't want the SRT in your 220...I'll trade you triggers :-)
  22. Are you sure the Sig they had has the adjustable sights? I picked u pa new Stainless Elite 229 last week. It came W/ non adjustable night sights. I'd think it would be more cost effective to buy the gun with the options you want instead of sending it back to Sig to have the SRT installed. Grips...meh...pick whatever you want. I went with Houges on my 229 and left the rosewood grips in the box. I picked mine up to get: 1. SRT trigger 2. the added weight of the full stainless for IDPA 3. The beavertail..I just like the way it feels in the hand. I have a 228 that sees carry duty sometimes, but the stainless 229 was different enough to be different :-)
  23. The SRT trigger on a Sig is worth every penny. Don't like adj sights on any carry pistol.
  24. The only shots that count are in the scoring rings...headshots don't count. They SHOULD...but they don't in scoring the targets for your HCP
  25. If that's the case...just think about how many emissions we'd cut if DC would just SHUT UP. All that hot air, CO2, methane from all the BS. We'd be back in pre indurstrial revolution levels if obama and pelosi would shut their pie holes for 30 minutes.
