  1. I own both, shoot both and like both. The slim profile of the 1911 is my I carry one. Glock 36+jelly belly= funny bruising in places where you don't want to explain to the wife why it looks like you have a hickey My 1st carry piece was a Sig, then a G36, then a G26, then another Sig, now a 1911 or two OWB=Glock IWB=1911
  2. When I go pickup my AR pistol from Rocky in Franklin Thurs I'll look 1. to see if they have any Harris stuff on the shelf 2. if they do and they have one like mine, I'll find out if it's all there and how it fits Mine doesn't look like it would fit...but it's been years since I monkeyed with it so I could be way off base
  3. no problem. I have one but it's a model number "25" series 1A2. From the paperwork I've got with it, it looks like its for a bolt action rifle, not an AR. I've got to go to Franklin Gun Shop Thursday, I'll look and see if they have any. I seem to remember seeing some. If you have a particular model in mind, let me know.
  4. Let me look in my parts pile when I get home. I think I might have one I'm not using anymore.
  5. is a ccw proof for this class?
  6. My primary CCW piece is a Kimber Stainless Pro Carry Ii in .45. I love it.
  7. Bushmaster lower with JT Distributing upper There isn't a post for the EBPs...so I'll post it here: Bushmaster Carbon 15
  8. I've never heard of one around here. I did run into a place called Rattlesnake Ridge up in Clarksville while I was at the gun show Sat, but I've never talked to anyone who's attended http://rattlesnakeridge.org/
  9. HOWDY!! Yep..you were right. I "justified" it alright So much for stopping too. Went to the gun show Sat and found a new flat top upper for my AR, and was sold a C-More sight that I asked if it would work on the upper that I was holding. Only problem is..it won't without the raceway that didn't come with it. The guy sold me a C-More for a Glock. That would be OK if he wouldn't have said YEP it'll work. to me as I was holding the AT UPPER RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM. Guys like that is why gun shows have a crappy rep. Get a decent deal on half of what you need to actually make it work. So...Saturday was: 1.Nashville to Franklin Gun shop to drop off the Carbon 15 at the gunsmith due to some serious jamming issues 2.On to the gunshow to do about 8 laps around the entire place 3.back to Nashville to assemble the AR 4. Drive to Greenbriar to see if they had the raceway mount for the C-More, then to pickup 500 rounds of .223 and a BSA green dot to use until I get the C-More setup. Also picked up the GG&G adapter for the USP Now I want to test the upper so if there's a problem I can go back to the show and talk to the guy I purchased it from before he heads back to Ky. 5.Off to the Hobson Pike range to test the upper, only to almost slam into the closed gates. 6. On Taget in Murfressboro to pay 20.00 to shoot at jury rigged targets becasue the holders were shot all apart 7. Back to Nashville. It SHOULD have been fun...but..by the time I got to actually fire the new toy..I didn't care. It went bang...bang bang bang. So the upper is dead on accurate once I get the optics sighted in. I ain't driving ANYWHERE today unless absolutely friggin necessary

I don't mind the light...but the way to mount kinda hangs off the front is what got me.

Here's a good pic I found of the M2 on the compact to illustrate my point. I don't like the way it hangs over the barrel, and it fits like crap around the trigger guard.

Steelharp...I have a small suggestion. Unless you have the full size USP, don't go with the M2 light. I picked one up for my Compact and It doesn't fix (in my opinion) right. The light hangs off the front of the gun and look like it was kinda wedged on there. I got pissed last night when it showed up and picked up a TRL-2 to hand on my ProMag adapter. I paid WAY too much for the TRL-2 by getting it locally..but I was in a foul mood. I'm going to pickup a GG&G adapter this weekend (hopefully) at the gun show...and try to send the dang M2 back.
  15. If we pitch in I don't see why it wouldn't work. Doesn't the Memphis chapter have a boat load of members. It would be a shame if Nashville...with out easier access to the TN Hose/Senate couldn't get a chapter going. I'm going to try to get some "slush fund" money from the finance committee (after my spending spree that might be hard) and hed out Saturday to the show. I want to try to talk to Perry as well. Perhaps we can talk in out of canceling the July meeting. I enjoy hearing John talk..but it shouldn't take just John being out of a meeting to have it fall apart.
  16. I wonder how Perry would take to a few volunteers to help set the agenda, take notes and such? Some people would welcome the help, some people would look at that as trying to move in on their "turf"
  17. I think perhaps we need to talk to Perry. He seems like he really WANTS to make it work...even though he's already quit once...and came back. If he wants to step down, we (we being the TFA) need to ELECT not appoint the next president. I've been the president of a networking group before...once you "get into the swing" it ain't that hard. It's a bit of work...but it isn't all that. I don't like the idea of not having a July meeting. We're not off the ground yet and it's breaks the momentum. My wife does meetings at work as well. She said the same things that Marswolf said. Nothing is more useless than a unorganized meeting. We need someone to take notes, set some sort of agenda, etc. I wonder if a few of us approached Perry outside of the group and offered help how he'd take it. I was bummed when we had the chance to talk with Ben West and Perry wanted to concentrate on membership. We need members, but if the first meeting we had went like this last one, I'm not sure I'd come back. I was the red headed fella sitting at the front right side table.
  18. DP...I meant to say hi..I was the red head at the front table. WE need to do something...need to help Perry set an agenda, someone to take notes, it seemed really disorganized tonight to me.
  19. I usually have to squander, scrimp and end up having to trade usually. The HK was something I had wanted ever since I sold my other one...the Carbon 15...I just couldn't pass it up. I pulled car fund money over for that one. Now I'm 600.00 behind on getting the paint job I wanted. It sucks having two expensive hobbies It's funny... I found the HK...just like I wanted then I found a left handed holster for it all in the same day. I NEVER find LH gear on the shelf. It was meant to be :-) (at least thats what I tell myself)
  20. I went to Joelton last week and found a nice stainless USPc in .45 OK...I like HKs. Went to Guns and Leather Monday to put 200 or so rounds downrange to see how she fires...no problems at all...actually expected nothing less. Leaving...I happened to wonder by the front counter and lo and behold... THIS was staring my in the face...just begging to come homeI'm about to the point where I'm gonna need another safe
  21. Civilian question...what's POW stand for personal owned weapons?

The M2 UTL has a HK specific model. There is a GG&G adapter that will let any light attach to the HK. Guns and Leather has one of the adapters for both the full size and the compact USPs in house for around 50.00 If you already have a light then that would be the most cost effective way to go about it. If you don't have a light, and the HK is the only railed pistol you have (like me) then Amazon (of all places) has the M2 UTL for sale as well http://www.amazon.com/Insight-Technology-Universal-Tactical-HKL-000-A5/dp/B000PW5H8S/ref=sr_1_1/102-6383428-9284902?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1182262408&sr=8-1
  23. If this is still planned...I'll made the drive. Question, whats the rule about civilians having their own guns on the reservation?
  24. I"m in. Shoot,...even the wife wants to go.
  25. Condition one....topped off mag.
