I can even shoot it on the G&L range according to Dennis :-) I was checking on ammo prices...they don't look too bad. I found 50 rounds for 19.99 at Midway.
  2. Straighten out your right elbow, and quit "pushing" your head into the sight picture..squishing up your neck. Thats exactly the same problem I was fighting during class. The elbow thing is HARD to do, I'm used to shooting a modified weaver stance...and dropping everything low right. When I FORCE myself to shoot modified isosceles (feet shoulder width apart, left foot slightly back, both arms straight) I shoot much better; it's just hard to re train.

Hey Hero Gear: " **If we do...it will be sent to CMMG for a 10.3" barrel and conversion to a full-auto Post 86 sample" just what would that cost a fella :-) Also...whats the cost on getting the rail to replace the factory sights?

They had one up at Guns and Leather...used.unfired for under 1400...notice I said HAD one. I wanted one of these puppies ever since they came out. no pics of the actual piece yet...but...it looks like this one
  5. I wonder if the gun stores have any legal recourse...I'm sure we serfs don't. They had a spot on Fox17 news about all the money the gun stores are losing.
  6. ...great...well at least that'll keep me in the wifes good graces for another day or two :-) G&L is calling my name
  7. my wife doesn't want to shoot the bad guys...she wants to beat them to death with my baton. That scares me more for some reason :-)
  8. You know we'll be there if at all possible. My mother had to go into the hospital for a pacemaker, then brought back in with dizzyness Friday. She's scheduled for a angiogram Monday morning. also...don't let me forget to pay you for the tickets Len. I haven't seen you since I got 'em of you.

    Its on the way!!

I use Wilson Combat mags for all my 1911s. I'd stay away from mags with the metal split followers on any alloy frame 1911..it can nick the frame. I think the CDP is one of the best 1911s for carry out there.
  10. My 1st thought is CGI viral marketing for Halo 3 /we would like to remind residents of Log Angeles not to fire their weapons at the spacecraft/
  11. the way its written...your breaking the law just having it in the car in the parking lot.

You'll only be down two rounds if you carry one in the pipe :-) 5 Shot Leather is where my current IWB rig came from but he isn't taking orders until he clears up his backlog. www.5shotleather.com I've got a new 4.25 rig coming from www.ubgholsters.com UBG= Ugly Bald Guy Full front shark IWB and a shark dual mag holder for 160 shipped.

He shot my CDP...and loved it. I think he'll carry it once he gets used to the 1911 controls. All I needed was the raspy voice saying "come to the dark side Len...we have cookies and 1911s :-) Len...the only thing I'd change is get Dennis to install a magwell on it for you. I had him put one on mine, it didn't hurt concealablity(is that a word) one bit (it added less than a 1/4 inch of metal to the bottom of the gun), it changes the mainspring housing from plastic to metal and increases reload speed quite a bit. Coming from a Glock, mag changes might take a bit of getting used to. I wish I would have had it when I took AH1 from the range, my 98 out of 10 on the shoot and more course might have been 10/10 with a faster reload. Why do Glock shooters always want 10 targets :-)

What was the ETA on your new arrival?

Good deal. Dennis and his crew have always been stand up with me whenever I go in there (I was going to say they shoot straight, but thats a bad pun) I wonder if I can get a finders fee out of 'em now :-) Pick up some Wilson Combat mags for it when she comes in and you'll be good to go.
  16. No mention if he was a permit holder or not. Regardless...he screwed the pooch on this one. I just with they would at least ONCE have their facts straight. Funny...the metro council passed 4 new taxes last night to pay for a convention center that isn't even on paper yet and the said nothing about it. This poor schmuck put two into his neighbors house and they're out there giving us the play by play all the way down to where the round struck the dirt in front of some guy
  17. They had a story on last night about a guy who took a few shots at some punks trying to steal his truck(bad..they were running away when he fired...now he's in hot water) According to the news he fired his 40MM pistol at the guys, the rounds penetrated through two walls of a house and hit the dirt in front of a guy sitting on the side of his house. I'm sure it was a 40 cal. Glock or something similar. I guess the reporter had once heard of a 9mm, and a "40" and just combined the two. The only thing I could think of is if he would have used a 40MM it would have taken care of the perps...the house and the fella sitting on the other side The only good thing from the story was it showed 1st hand a very good example of over penetration of a pistol caliber round. You can't even hide behind a new construction house and be protected. Gimme brick!!
  18. NOOO....evil Harbor Freight...quit tempting me with your low cost air tools that I must have...even the ones I have no idea what they do
  19. I love twisted logic. I guess a shotgun WOULD be the best choice. They'll never even clean the dust bunnies out of the chamber;they'd never practice with one of those evil handguns Makes you wish the street sweepers were legal...there IS the Saiga 12 Shotgun...show 'em a picture of that...then refuse to sell it to them until the take a training class, show just cause on why they need a weapon, conduct interviews with all their neighbors asking them if they think their neighbors really need a shotgun, get a notarized letter from the sheriff telling them they can have a gun...then make them wait 30 days to make sure they aren't buying a gun in a fit or rage. Of course you want to make a sell...and I'm a mean spirited ***hole that thinks people like that deserve to see what it's like for law abiding gun owners that LIKE guns...so...it might be best NOT to take my advise.
  20. 1911....condition 1. 24/7/365 If Mr crackhead gets the drop on me and somehow gets the pistol out of my holster, it'll give me a few seconds to introduce him to Mr Cold Steel or his bud, P3AT
  21. Its on the tgo calender for the 22nd
  22. I"m like you. I don't know if a change of leadership would help. It seemed like the last meting was just a unorganized mess. we shouldn't have to have John harris there to have a good meeting.
  23. If you start trying to bash in my door day or night, you will be treated as a serious threat. I wonder if this was some kind of gang initiation thing. I do wonder what would have happened if there was a loud BANG and one of their heads would have exploded in a red mist. The home owners would more than likely be in trouble for hurting someones "little boy who ain't done nothin wrong" The downside is the neighbors are now likely to be targets for payback from the little turds for being snitches...so hopefully they'll be prepared for their return. I've been in that area...it's wonderful what the neighborhood has become. All those old houses being restored instead of being torn down and replaced by cookie cutter condos. It's also good to see the neighbors looking out for one another.
  24. There were two Springfield Operators in stock at Guns and Leather this past Friday. they won't let you shoot 'em..but they feel good in hand, the rail isn't supposed to mess up the holster selection. They also point up ver naturally for me, but most 1911s do.
  25. Great job Len. Was the training AND the Glock the grand prize? Now you have a Glock to trade in on that 1911 :-)
